Stopped by for some water and my elderly mother had to use the restroom. The lady stocking the supplies Diana was asked by my mother who has a weak bladder what the restroom password was and she did not even turn to tell her she immediately said go to the register. The level of rudeness was very surprising coming from an employee. She should be trained on some sort of customer service. I was in line and the proceeded to ask the cashier Jack what the code was and he seemed bothered possibly not having a good day. If you don't like your job then they should find another one. Today was the first time I came into the Starbucks location. Is located in the busy part of downtown Santa Barbara. It's a very convenient location for those staying at that hotel right above. They do take mobile orders here so that is another huge plus. The store itself is a pretty decent-sized location. There aren't that many tables to sit around and lounge though. If that's what you're looking for. The team members here are very helpful and friendly. Be sure to download the Starbucks rewards app so you're able to accumulate Stars and place mobile orders in advance. The people who work here look like you are bothering them when you're placing your order. It's your job to take drink orders. I didn't even have a complained order. I placed an order at 7AM on Sunday March 31st to this location and went to pick it up. When I arrived, there was a sign on the door that said there was an emergency and that the Starbucks would be open at 8:30AM. I had already placed the order in the Starbucks app and it said that the store was open, or else I would have never placed the order.  When I knocked on the door to try to get the worker's attention they ignored me. Then they yelled at me and told me they weren't open and that I should read the sign. When I told them I read the sign and that my order was already placed and tried to show them the receipt they told me "too bad, I'm sorry I can't help you." Don't go here read more

I got a black drip coffee with half and half. The barista that helped me , sorry didn't get her name, was so thoughtful and nice, when she noticed that my cup was full to the brim and from the look in my eyes she could tell I would like more milk in my coffee. She right a way got me an empty cup with extra creamer on the bottom. I was very pleasantly surprised, that she keeps what I was thinking without even having to ask. This Starbucks is one of the Starbucks that is located on State Street. In many ways, it's very hard to review Starbucks, because they are all pretty much the same. This one is no different. This Starbucks occupies a fairly large and open interior space. Again, this is a very common feature of most city-based Starbucks. They have some interior tables. But, this location does not have a defined exterior area where you can find outside tables to sit at. Overall, the staff here are always nice and they do their job as can be expected. This location offers all of the things that Starbucks is known for. If you need your Starbucks fix on State Street this is one of the locations where you can get it. read more

My go-to corner Starbucks. There's not much street parking but I use the Starbucks app to place my mobile order and get there early enough to park and run in for my order. This team almost always has my order ready on time with 90% accuracy. Good odds considering how often I go! Always fantastic customer service. An absolutely terrible experience that I will think about for a while as I attempt to understand why someone is so rude and angry. If you are reading this Stephanie, look for another career because being nice or pleasant isn't your thing. She is one of those people who can't even seem normal even from the first word out of her mouth, a truly hostile individual. Though I hope she gets the help she needs as it's clear that something is going on behind the scenes, it's not ok to be that rude to anyone. I don't tend to like Starbucks but I go every now and then. Having to interact with Stephanie and see how she treated other costumers made me question if I should ever risk going to a Starbucks again if this is considered acceptable behavior. Also watching her power hungry obsession with the bathroom was absurd. She yelled at so many people in my short time at the store, hence the little time spent there. While at Starbucks, I saw a young come in with her younger sister or maybe someone she's babysitting. The younger girl clearly had to go to the bathroom badly and Stephanie yelled at them in front of all patrons that the bathroom was for customers only. To be clear it was obvious that the older girl was going to be buying something and she just wanted the little girl to not pee herself while she was waiting on line. The older one clarified that she was in fact buying a coffee (though she was being way too nice at this point because I think she thought Stephanie was confused) and just didn't want the little girl to have to wait for a coffee order to be made in order to pee. The older girl tried hard to advocate for the other girl and asked if she could get the code just so the girl could go to the bathroom but Stephanie snapped that she can get the code after the purchase (there was a line). The older girl then offered to put pay for anything in that moment if it ment the girl didn't wet herself (even saying she'd put money down now like an insurance policy) but Stephanie said that they had to wait for a barista to be free. Luckily the lovely ladies on line allowed the two girls to go ahead so that no accidents happens. This should not be happening! Why do the costumers care more than the staff. What is wrong with this shop and why is it allowed to be run in such an off putting manner. Worse part is, this seems like such a commons occurrence that Stephanie wouldn't even remember this conversation as it's nothing for her but I can assure you that those girls will remember that moment for a while, as will I. 10 out of 10 would never recommend. read more

The young woman at the counter was sweet, and the barista was hopping. Our drinks came out very quickly. Those were the positives. As other Yelpers have noted, though, there is limited seating. Also, if this location were a horse, I'd say it had been ridden hard and put away wet. The place had a tired, overwhelmed air. Like it needed a thorough Spring cleaning, with steam to sanitize the surfaces. I realize that they must get a lot of traffic, despite having no close parking. The need to bypass citizens living in the streets, and the last smokers in California also nearby, polluting the air, did not make a great impression, coming or going. Not an easy gig for the employees to keep up with the challenges of the neighborhood. I recall being at this store some years ago with the family too get hot chocolate for the kids and it not being so grungy. Not my favorite Starbucks. read more

This Starbucks is at the end of State Street... just before the 101. If you want to use the free internet, you must enter your email address. A new feature of Starbuck shops I suppose.
