I saw a female employee there today screaming at an elderly client because the elderly client said she asked for a frappuccino instead of a cappuccino. Even after the kind male barista said he'd handle it, the female barista came back and continued screaming at the old lady saying "you said cappuccino!" It was 4pm so I ordered a decaf drip coffee. I was sitting right in front of the brewing machine so I was able to see how the barista made the decaf. He first filled some hot water into the cup, then topped it with the regular pike coffee. I like coming to starbucks reserve places when given the chance. It's been awhile since I've come back here and I always remember liked coming here before covid and today even during covid, this store surprised me how low of a rating this place has on yelp. My visit today to this Store is clean, organized and had a semi fancy feel compared to other Starbucks locations are. Everything is clearly marked 6ft across with arrows and all of where to stand and order. I did a mobile order for my visit today but I can see the 3 ladies this morning hustling trying to get as much and as quickly out as possible while still being courteous to guests and super clean with prepping/delivering. They were all relatively not stressed and calm with tons of people in a rush to pick up. It was surprising really quiet despite having 10 or so people waiting. When In the area, come check it out! I used to stop by here years ago for a White Chocolate Mocha to get a kick of caffeine. Nowadays, this place has been remodeled.

Running an errand in the Marina, I noticed a cavernous and newly constructed store entrance on Chestnut Street, not a norm in this old time neighborhood. Curious, I peaked in and noticed the name... Starbucks Reserve?! Is this a competitor or what?! Upon walking in, despite not being an avid coffee drinker, I studied their menu and ordered a dark chocolate strato as it sounded like gourmet and frozen hot chocolate to me. While waiting, I couldn't help but to admire how nicely the design and layout was for this upscale literal coffee bar... yes, there was a bar counter with seating in addition to comfortably spaced tables which were apt for more intimate or private conversations. Because I was merely shopping in the area and this was an unplanned stop, I took my drink with me and enjoyed it as I drove back to the office. This was definitely not hot chocolate as the expresso was definitely the dominant flavor. It was good, but certainly different from my expectations and likely not fully appreciated with my novice taste buds coffee wise. Not sure if I'd return, but it is certainly a nice stop for those who appreciate coffee. read more

I'm surprised by the relatively low ratings. This Starbucks Reserve boasts a chic and industrial interior that appears to be frequented by bros and baby mamas, as typical of the Marina. No but seriously--this isn't your typical Starbucks. The space is gorgeous, inviting, and economically designed so that seating is maximized. You also won't find your typical Starbucks drinks here, which can be a double edged sword and may explain the polarizing reviews. For instance, they don't serve Frappuccinos. But if you're craving a dark chocolate mocha made with almondmilk and nitrogen-infused cold brew, then you're in luck and can order the Nitro Mole Mocha! As for me, I'm a huge fan of the Dirty Chai Nitro--enough where I feel comfortable giving this Starbucks Reserve 4 stars without having tried everything that's exclusively on their menu quite yet (the Bicerin is next on my list!). read more

This review is just for the decor. I happened to pass Starbucks in the Marina on Monday and I gotta say that my head whipped around really fast before stepping into the shop. What caught my eye was the revamped look; all that Starbucks green is gone and now it's wood, concrete, stainless steel and faux (?) brown leather. I was amazed and I guess I haven't been in the area for awhile during the transformation. The place makes me think of Milan, Italy and Italian minimalism. I like the look. This change makes me recall how Peet's in the Marina revamped their store (which is just a short distance from this Starbucks location). Similarly, Peet's created the most beautiful space with plants, wall art, skylight and concrete. Their Marina location is in the top two of sales in San Francisco (told to me by a Peet's barista). Guess those Marina folks seriously quaff coffee! Anyways, there was a crowd ordering at this Starbucks Reserve shop and I gotta say that there are definitely issues with space. It's too tight inside this store when crowded. Impatient, I left without ordering a beverage or food. At heart, I'm a Peet's girl. read more

I must live under a rock, because I didn't know there was a difference between Starbucks and the one that has a Star over the R (Starbucks Reserve). I honestly thought it was just Starbucks making it fancy looking. And fancy it is. (Seriously) When I walked in, I was surprised by the look of it. It was clean and sleek. Great place to sit down with a client. The cold brew, however, only had two sizes, tall and grande but it came in a cute plastic cup and also cost more. A grande cold brew cost me $4. (And that's with nothing in it) It was good though. I asked for a splash of heavy cream after. The female barista was really nice. The cashier was cool. The menu is different. While this is listed as a "Starbucks Reserve," it is not anything special from your local Starbucks. The location is very busy with limited seating--about ten tables. The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, as well as very quick in their order time. It took us about eight minutes from order to get our coffee. The line was about ten deep from the the register, taking about ten minutes to get to the register. The coffees were like anything you'd get from your local Starbucks, and it was underwhelming carrying the "reserve" label on the location. read more

I ran into this Starbucks when I was in Marina and in desperate need of Caffeine. This place was a pleasant surprise! I love the long stretch of bar seating, and most of the table seatings are also arranged facing the bar. The interior has a modern yet retro vibe, possibly due to the use of wood in its decor. And most importantly it has Whiskey barrel aged cold brew. Apparently, as I was told, this is one of the two Starbucks in the Bay Area that have this drink. When I was there yesterday, the tables and chairs needed some tidying up. But I don't fault the people working there- they were getting slammed by the continuous coffee drinkers streaming into the store. read more

Very nice Starbucks than what I'm use to. This Starbucks was quite big inside. There's a barstool area for anyone that wants a street view although the Apple Store's lighting sort of kills the atmosphere of Chestnut Street. Outlet are available for laptop/phone charging throughout the store. The service area has enough room for ordering, merchandise, and standing room. A male and female bathroom is located towards the back. Tables and chases are in the back with I suppose an electric fireplace in the back for long hours. This Starbucks isn't 24hrs so be sure to find one nearby if needed. The Pumpkin spice latte was good as well as the White Chocolate mocha Grande but it cramped my stomach halfway through finishing it. read more

This is your basic Starbucks. Super convenient to where I live and love how I can use the Starbucks app to pre-order; it's always ready when I arrive. The employees are nice and there are seats that look outside so at least if you have to work, you get a little sunshine and people watching down. When I'm in the neighborhood, I use this Starbucks store exclusively, approximately four times per months. I always place the same order which is a grande English breakfast tea with a light splash of 2% milk. There was different staff in the store this morning than I usually see and when I picked up my order it was completely white, indicating a substantial amount of milk in the tea which I don't like. I asked them to remake it which they did and this time they used Earl Gray instead of English breakfast. If you're not a tree tea drinker, this may sound like a non-issue but if you are, you know why I am very disappointed. read more
