That said, I'd think of it as better suited to a pre-work, grab-and-go espresso for the mornings rather than a place to settle in for a few hours. The indoor seating is limited to a handful of one-person tables that feel a bit cramped, and the kitchen closes relatively early at 3 PM, so you'll be having that breakfast burrito for actual breakfast. I ordered a macchiato and coconut bread. The coconuts bread was okay and not sweet. But it was dried. I waited a long time for my macchiato. several people behind me got their coffee before me. Went on a trip to see my sister and stopped by this lil coffee shop while we were walking through the city.the cafe itself was so cute and small inside which make sense in this city. The service was very fast and friendly. It happened that the barista and I had the same phone case. I bought two drinks, one for my mom and one for myself. She got a Mocha latte and I got a dirty chai latte. Both tasted very amazing and it's always nice to go somewhere that we don't have in our city. The flavor was good, but they don't add sweetness so I would have liked it more with a little sugar. Matcha chia seed pudding: B If you like chia seed pudding you'll probably enjoy this. The bananas with nuts and chocolate bits add some nice contrast in texture. The matcha flavor is more mild. Line can get long here but it seems to move quickly. read more

We don't often find ourselves window shopping on Chestnut, and the times we do we seldom stop for a cuppa. But our last visit - espresso and cappuccino. Service was relatively fast, and the bottom line is the coffee was solid. I feel for the other reviews noting longer-than-expected wait times - I detest that in a coffee shop. But at least for our stop at Reveille, the two behind the counter did a good job getting us ours without an extraordinary wait...and the cafe was not empty - fair amount of foot traffic, customers at tables both in and outside. Good news was the espresso was the real deal...all the details one wants in a decent shot were present - crema, balance of acidity, bitterness and sweet, body, blah blah blah. So we'll be back, I'm sure. Well aware that the experience at any Chestnut storefront can vary wildly depending upon day, time, and the aggregated mean of snottiness of clientele on any given visit. Met up with an old colleague and she recommended this place for açaí bowls. I personally feel like $15 is a bit steep but overall I think the ingredients, freshness, and house made granola justified its price. Coffee was alright, food was alright, but man the baristas were rude as hell. First I came across the cashier and thought meh maybe it's just a fluke. The only protein in it besides the egg was prosciutto. Unfortunately, I didn't want prosciutto, but ended up getting it anyway since it was the only option. I wish they offered something like a sausage patty instead. Stopped by for a post-workout lunch around 1pm and it was pretty packed. The shop itself is pretty small, though there is some seating in the parklet right outside. There is an order ahead option on their website, though it only allows you to order food within a certain time window. (Drinks/coffee must be ordered in person.) Instead, it has that perfect, bold matcha flavor that actually tastes like matcha, not just milk with a hint of green. Every time I drink it, I feel amazing--energized but never jittery. It's that smooth, calm focus kind of vibe that matcha is supposed to give you. They clearly use high-quality powder and know how to prepare it right. Where to begin, the staff, cooks and everyone is so kind and welcoming. They make a huge effort to remember names, orders, etc. Hannah, Isabel, Bryan, Ava, Hannah, Maria (I could go on and on) to name a few are absolutely amazing. I've been a loyal customer of this location since they opened over a year ago. The neighborhood needed a good coffee shop (we only had Starbucks and Peet's) and this place changed the game for me . The staff is amazing - always greeting you and with a smile on their face. Be warned that on the weekends the line can get pretty long, but it moves quickly. Coffee here is excellent and I've tried a couple of items on the menu and they were pretty good. They offer freshly baked pastries as well, although I don't think they bake them in house, they are still pretty fresh (they bring them in daily, I believe). I have to say, I mostly come here for the coffee, so I can't judge too much on the food, but overall I LOVE this place and I'm super happy we have good coffee around the neighborhood. read more

Finally got the chance to try Réveille Coffee after a morning hot girl walk around the Marina. The workers were very friendly and were not shy to offer their recommendations. Reveille. I've given this place several tries to succeed but they fail 9 out of 10 times. It takes 4min, with 4 employees behind the counter to produce 1 order per customer. It takes 2min for an employee to acknowledge any customer waiting to order -I've timed these things several times. There IS a lot of chatter amongst the employees behind the counter, but the mad muggin'/miserable look painted across the faces of the 20somethings probably means they are commiserating -perhaps it's in regards to hating life. This location is unfortunately filled with bad energy and sunless despair. The brew is watered down and flavorless at this location on Chestnut St. What good is a French luxury car with no engine and no fuel in the tank? It's an empty vessel that only looks pretty on the outside -You can sit inside this vehicle-to-nowhere and you will notice the driver has farted and locked all of the windows shut. There's no such thing as too many coffee shops or lattes in the city, thus why I was and am so excited for there to be a Réveille Coffee in the Marina! It's an industrial yet aesthetic space with inside and outdoor seating, I hope they'll open the upstairs soon. I ordered their Cardamom Croissant for $4, which was non-caffeinated, but made up for in texture and taste although I had only wished the cardamom taste was stronger. Nonetheless, it was yummy and a good stand in for La Cabra, so it's definitely a must to order their Cardamom Croissant; now I have to figure out which drink to pair it with! read more
