The people are helpful and sweet. I have stopped in at different times in the morning all between 7 and 9. I've unfortunately had to wait more than 5 minutes past the mobile order expected time each time I've ordered - I don't understand how it happens but grown to expect a wait if ever stopping by here. So, there are two Starbucks within 10 minutes of each other. This particular one is next to a movie theater and the 8-15 freeway, so, I find a higher frequency to my visits to this one as opposed to to the sister Starbucks located near the Mira Mesa High School. This place located near Miramar college and I observe, the newer shopping and restaurants center receives a higher foot traffic, so, I grade them in quality and Starbuck Experience at a higher standard. I use to train Starbuck Baristas and had the privilege of working with amazing Managers and fellow Shift Supervisors, we were trained to make the perfect cappuccino while easily maintaining eye contact and engaging the customers. 3-5 minutes out the door and deliver impact. This place definitely has a character, the professionalism is there, the quality is adequate. So, why do I keep returning. I guess it's because, I can't stand coffee lovers hating on Starbucks and badmouthing a company that started it all and then raised standards just to watch their employees embark on their own entrepreneurship because the skills Starbucks drilled into them. I digress. Starbucks knew what they were doing back in the 90's and early 20th century. However, upholding the standards without improving them and updating them with the times, well, appears to challenge the generation taking on those high expectations and mastery of Standards. Again, why do I return, because they messed up my order and when I politely asked if they could add more cinnamon powder the barista didn't roll their eyes, instead they apologized (even when I didn't say anything was wrong), and asked if I would be okay waiting a minute so they can remake the drink ahead of the orders already in the Que. That's exceptional. Everyone assumes giving you money means the deal is struck and the end result and the journey to receive the end result no longer requires Focus and struggle to Perfect. I am a Master Barista, I own decent Espresso maker and Milk Steam Wand, and it will only take me 3 minutes to make the perfect Cap with Nutella and cinnamon powder. So, 8 dollars, is more than a coffee in a to-go cup. Thank you for providing a Starbucks experience and a drink worth spending my hard earned money on. Some starbucks can be very inconsistent with their service, espresso and flavoring ratios. This one was great - the drink was made quickly and tasted really good. The espresso was not sour or off. The sugar cookie latte is always my favorite holiday drink! It's delicious with a little less syrup and oat milk. Would return to this location - there's ample parking in the shopping center and other food options if you're looking for a heartier meal. read more

As far as Starbucks go, this location is one of our favorites. There's no drive-through, but there's a lot of parking so you can pick up quickly. The space is casual. There are tables along the wall across from the counter. My wife and I will sometimes walk here and hang out for a bit. If it's warm out then we'll sit at one of the tables right outside. Note, it can get busy on the weekends. During one of our latest visits (on January 5th), my wife decided to try the Matcha Latte. The lady who took our order was very nice and took the time to explain the new matcha. I didn't get her name, but wanted to give her a shoutout. read more

It took the barista all of one minute to make the drinks there was one mobile order ahead of mine. And no one was waiting on an in store order. There were 4 baristas and a cashier. Whoever is managing this location is failing spectacularly if it takes 20 minutes to make a drink that took one minute to make. The time management is so piss poor they don't even give the "sorry, your next item is free" card at this location anymore. Retrain your damn managers. A manager is supposed to MANAGE. The customer service was good. The ambiance was good. The food was good. The issue was a worker had to look up ingredients on their phone because they did not know if a cake pop contained peanuts. (Severely Allergic) Like does it not come on the packaging? Do you not make it? Then I ordered a drink (Strawberry Açaí Lemonade) and it was gone in 2 seconds. Surprise, the cup was 99% ice, 1% drink. Like do you want me drink water? Overall I would not recommend going here. 12/3/2023 @ 5:07am Today I had an unfortunate experience. I'm 9 months pregnant, and as you can imagine, when you need to use the restroom, you really need to use the restroom. I had placed a mobile order before walking into the shop, but when I asked for the restroom code, the barista refused because I hadn't ordered at the register. Even with my belly out to here, there was zero compassion. I quietly showed my mobile order on my phone, and only then--after a dirty look--did she give me the code. I love Starbucks and have Long appreciated their free Wi-Fi for paying customers. Unfortunately, the loitering has gotten out of control at almost every indoor location I've been to recently. There are people sitting with headphones watching tv and even sprawled out sleeping in the seating areas meant for people who are enjoying their Starbucks and working or studying. The food and drinks are always good, but it's not even comfortable to go there when you can't find a seat because of people sitting or laying there all day long. read more

Not recommending anyone to order this location via mobile app or over DoorDash delivery. Had my colleague order DoorDash from the Westview Pkwy location as the nearest one to my hotel where I stayed for a business trip closes very early, and we needed to grab a drink to wind down after a long 11 hour shift at work. Service is horrible, they forgot to give us straws as my coworker ordered a venti Caramel Frappuccino and even napkins for my sandwich. She had to scramble to get a straw at a restaurant which was already closed by our hotel and front desk which did not have any at hand. Also, the Strawberry Açaí lemonade Starbucks Refresher tastes great but the strawberries are only a fourth of what I typically get. Now my coworker has to end up using a spoon to drink her frap. Want to give a shoutout to the male working there this morning running the iPad I think he was a manager or lead. There was an issues with one of the espresso machines causing a backup. I'm a frequent mobile customer here I stop in just before work. He took the time to greet every person and let them know what was going on. My drink got lost in the busyness and he took the time to check on me and make the situation right. I have a customer service background and I understand how it can be so I don't like to complain. Update: The service is lacking at this location. Two days in a row the staff seemed less engaged with their customers and more engaged with each other. The cashier taking our order said but maybe two words to us during the whole process. The lady making the drinks seemed so unhappy and walked away when presented drink. I actually had to yell across the way to ask for a straw. Oh and I feel like they ignore special instructions. We both ordered light ice and yet both cups are filled with ice. On another occasion, I asked for no syrup, yet my drinks tasted like it was all syrup. Thank goodness I don't have any health issue with sugar cause that drink was filled with sugar. I ended up throwing it away. The girl who was taking orders took the order of the couple in front of me and stopped afterwards to warm up pastries for the previous orders. She didn't bother looking if there were other customers waiting. She also made other pastries crispier and had to redo them. So she wasn't even paying attention to that. Another lady actually went up to the barista making drinks to ask if there was another Starbucks location. Honestly I should've left after hearing that. I usually come to this location because it's the closest and although it's usually slow, today was stupidly slow, more than usual. I am a patient person , and waited up to 15 mins for my last drink on a order of 3; to be given to me after seeing two other orders being made before they handed me my last drink. I then went up to ask, looks like my drink was over looked and they were going to make it. The barista asked if my drink was the lavender crème frap I said yes and he quickly made a drink. He called me up and he made me a MATCHA frap. I just took the L and grabbed the drink as I no longer felt like waiting another 5 mins for the drink to be remade. This location has a great location. End. Of. Story. The drinks are habitually not as good as say the one 1/2 mile away. Often had some odd after taste or just makes you question what you actually orders. And they are out of things, but, you can still order online. So, that convienece thing they had going for them.... well get completely zeroed out, cuz you need to reorder and wait.. Two stars cuz... I like the birds in the patio. They are always very slow here, but the staff are very very nice. It's always messy and there is a problem with the homeless lingering outside all over their patio. Other than that, if the mobile orders were faster that would be nice. I used to work for Starbucks and for a drive thru location where we would get 12-40 mobile orders on top of the drive thru, staffing does increase by 1-2 more partners per drive thru location compared to cafes like this place, but this place is too slow. Absolutely ridiculous. It shouldn't take 30 whole minutes to make a drink. I did a mobile order on the app. It said it was supposed to take 10-15 minutes, which is fine. But when you arrive at the time it's supposed to be ready it should be ready. Mobile orders should have to take priority over walk-ins. That's absolute bullshit how I had to sit there for DOUBLE the time it took to make my order. Also, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in that store is moving at a snails pace.
