I had previously checked their menu on their official site which slightly differed from what was displayed so I ended up getting a mocha. My father wandered to the separate section of this establishment and got ice cream. The mocha was great! I substituted it with oat milk - not sure if that's what made it taste better but it was satisfying enough that we ended up heading over there the following day for coffee. He pivoted and brewed up a Mexican that absolutely slapped. Clean, expressive, way more dialed. From there we just geeked out for a bit talking single origins, roasting approaches, equipment, all of it. That level of awareness and willingness to adjust in real time is rare, and it's what makes a place worth coming back to. I'm really interested to see how he continues to shape the program here. This feels like a shop that's still evolving in a good way.

I was honestly so excited to go to this place. This coffee bar is actually quite hidden, as they are located right behind the Village General Store on Vernon. There's quite a bit of parking when the storefront is closed, so you wouldn't even expect a wait at all. They have such a spacious patio as well (if you want to sit down and have a good time chatting it up with your other friends), and such big space to wait if you don't want the patio. I got one of their oatmeal cookies as well as their Matcha lattes. What I didn't know was that their oatmeal cookies were gluten free, and they were sourced and made locally by artisans here in Roseville. They also used quite premium-grade matcha that made it taste really good with the whole milk they mixed in eventually. The ambiance and the hospitality was one of the best out there, and I can't wait to be back the next time I'm in Sacramento!
