The experience started off on the wrong foot when we asked to use the bathroom before making a purchase and were met with an unpleasant facial expression and attitude. From that point on, the service from one particular staff member felt off and unsettling. There was an overall energy that made us feel unwelcome, which really affected the experience. The way our food was handled--almost tossed onto the table--came across as careless and disrespectful. I understand everyone has off days, but customer service should never make guests feel uncomfortable or unwanted. The food is warmed prepackaged stuff. Service at Fairwood is always bubbly and friendly but I never see sincere smiles. The ambience is like a warehouse with a coffee stand in the corner. The drinks and food are the same as any Starbucks, but order ahead if you decide to come to this one! I've sat in the drive thru line for 30 minutes - couldn't leave because of cars ahead and in back of me! How does this even happen? I asked the server and she said someone ordered 9 drinks. Okay, so tell them to pull into the parking lot and wait! Why are we all sitting there waiting for that one person? Also, server was very abrupt and curt when I asked why was there such a long wait. I thought it was a fair question, but she was so rude in answering that I told my daughter we will simply order ahead next time or go to a different one. read more

First off it's not closed it just moved a few hundred feet away. Second, they are the meanest people, worst customer service you have ever met: the first time I got there at 5. App said they'd be open until 6 but they closed at 5. By the time someone came to the door it was 5:02 and they said they couldn't possibly give me a bag of coffee. Second time app said 6,I called, and they said 6. I walked over, got there at 5:45 and the sign on the door said "drive thru only, short of staff". I walked over, they if need me at ordering. Either the staff was in a good groove or the day I came in everyone ran like a well oiled machine. Was here around 8:30 9am and there were 2 people in front of me in like but about 5 people waiting. Girl at register was super chill and genuine and you could tell they were very busy but everyone was efficient, confident, and takin' care of business. This was my first time there so I know next time I will definitely do mobile order as mobile order seemed pretty busy as well. Liked the energy, efficiency, and staff. Will definitely be coming back. (They were also sold out of the Smores frap...not sure if it was just that day or what but sold out already at 9am was kinda weird too. Scott, the manager, ( update; August 2015, Scott took a different position at a different location and no longer manages this location) does a great job staffing this Starbuck's with motivated, helpful, friendly and skilled staff that do their best to provide quality, accurately made and quickly prepared drinks and food. There are many different groups of regulars that gather at the Fairwood Starbucks for coffee and friendship. Judging by the fact that it is a busy place throughout the day virtually every day of the week many others share my very favorable impression of the place! Just because it is easier for you, does not mean it's good customer service to me. The girl that helped me was beautiful, but very bad at customer service. She must be used to getting things her way, a lot. She bailed from our interaction after I got annoyed with her wanting things easier for her and harder for me. A very nice man stepped up after she abandoned her job, but the sting was already there. I will NEVER go back to this Starbucks. EVER. Easier for YOU, is not good CUSTOMER SERVICE to me. I was only asking for my gift card to be reloaded. You should have been able to do what I asked. And if you couldn't (sometimes people can't) - you should have been nice, not condescending and judge-y. And you should not have turned your back and walked away like I was a problem. The employees are always wonderful, but the coffee drinks (blended, hot, or iced) aren't great and not worth the price you're paying now that Starbucks has raised their prices AGAIN. I've never had a bad experience here. The staff are well trained (they know their drinks), the bathrooms are clean and overall everyone is extremely friendly. Parking can be an issue sometimes when the store is packed as it shares space with a gym next door. Not exactly an issue these days (looking at you Covid...). I come here because it is the closest Starbucks to my home other than the one located in the Safeway around the corner. I honestly really dislike this particular Starbucks- they have messed up my order more than half the time I've been here, doing things like forgetting my order (even when they are absolutely NOT busy) or actually giving discourteous customer service. I've lived in the area for six years and only pop in now and then when I am in desperate need of coffee. I go there as little as possible so as not to ruin my days. You just never know what the service will be like that day, it is the weirdest, most dysfunctional Starbucks I've ever encountered. I've even had friends who visit me and pop in there for coffee first remark on the poor service. There is just something about this location that ruins my love for Starbucks. My drinks have always come out tasting good, but it's the customer service that changes it all for me. I come here often as I pass by on my way to work or when I'm getting my nails done around the corner. The baristas always have some stank face look on. I only go to Starbucks when I am desperate for caffeine and there are no other options. I drink coffee black. Starbucks coffee is not high quality. The whole concept is getting old and serious coffee drinkers are evolving from boring blends like Pike Place to actual coffee stock like a single origin Ethiopia Sidamo Ardi, roasted locally, and properly prepared, The story of coffee should be about the quality of the bean, roast, water added, a technical skill of the barista. I know the soccer mom set with their white chocolate mocha fraps loaded with whip cream and chocolate sprinkles will still be lining up here here sporting their lulu's and thinking they are trendy and hip. Sigh. This store is dated and needs a coat of paint and some refreshing. The staff is friendly. The food and pastries are average but consistent. I come here sometimes when I don't have to be to work earlier than 6am. They don't open as early as a location on my alternate route to work. The girls (and boys) are usually pretty friendly, but it's slow. That might not be their fault as much as is the Starbucks "way" to create a coffee house ambiance. So, I also give myself plenty of time. They have made mistakes on my order before, but have been quick and very apologetic to fix it. I haven't really been in since the new LA Fitness has been built, so I don't know if that makes the volume worse. read more

I come here several times a week. My daughter is very talkative and loves the people that work here (we've been coming in for years so every one knows her). They have a bar seating area right next to the oven, and they offer our food "for here" when they see us. I've seen some of the other reviews here and I'm sad because even when my drink is wrong of missing the people are very apologetic and remake it right away. I know started considering not coming in anymore when the last manager started going crazy. The service went downhill pretty fast and I felt bad for the girls working there at the time since the manager seemed to hover and micro manage, sometimes yelling at her employees in front of customers. I called corporate several times to complain over the previous year and finally she was fired in December. The new manager (Scott) is very friendly and is a pleasure to talk to. This place has a whole new feeling now, it's inviting, friendly, and even the employees from before have talked to me about how the atmosphere has changed. They are just as excited as I am to see new things happening in the store. The new pastries were a hurdle I had to get over, and my daughter too, now that the cookies are smaller. The lunch sandwiches have gone up in price, and down in size but are much tastier than before. The loaf cakes are much better than before (and so many new options) and about the same size/price. They recently had label printers (like at the drive thru) installed and I haven't had my drink or food missed since then! It's amazing how much one little thing has changed this store. There's no more yelling sandwiches, and yelling drinks back and forth. The wait time is much shorter in line and nothing is missing or wrong! It's exactly how I order it, printed on a neat little label. They bust their butts and do it with a smile. I have to add this; To my fellow reviewers, if you received less than superior service from this location then bring it up with them! I've gotten to know all the employees and they seem to understand customer frustrations pretty well. Most other Starbucks I go to have serious attitude problems and the only time I've seen the people here upset is when the customer is treating them like a dog or a servant. I've actually called out other customers on their behavior because I work in the service industry as well. No matter what the establishment or their standards, if you treat your server poorly then you will get poor service. I know it's tough without coffee and you have to be up early, but the people that work for Starbucks are already AT work when you're still on your way. read more

This location get pretty busy on the weekends, the last several times I came here there was a long line to order and a mosh pit of people on the other end waiting for drinks. They have a poor system of expediting orders, they should ask for names to tag along with the drinks especially when its busy. When there are 20 people gathered to wait for drinks and you scream out the drink name so quickly most people including myself look around confused wondering is this mine, what did she say? I'm done with this location. I should have stopped coming a while back, but it's in a direction I frequently travel. The last 3-4 times, a mistake on the order every time. Missing part of the order, having to ask for things that never came out. The emphasis all locations place recently on mobile orders has seemed to make this worse. Today we placed an order and waited, to again be missing part of it (food). I waited several minutes and then mentioned to the person bringing out the food that we were missing an item. She apologized and said it would be right out. About 15 minutes and a few mobile orders passed and still no food. I finally got back into line and waited several more minutes to request a refund. Barely an apology, though it was pointed out that a bag of several food items for a mobile order were ready to go. I asked how that helped me, to a blank stare. While it truly pains me to say, the local McDonald's would have provided better service. I won't come back to this location, and other spots are not fairing a lot better. Starbucks, people can get coffee anywhere, they pay for the customer service you provide. You might want to remember the customer while you still have them. read more

I went to Starbucks today, the new one by Mod Pizza on Petrovitsky RD. I went through the drive thru, asked for a Chocolate cookie crumble CREAM frap, and even specified the one without coffee. I didn't even pull out of the parking lot before I tasted my drink and it had coffee in it. I tried to go in to get my drink fixed, but all the doors were locked. I knocked on the door and all they would do was motion with crossed arms that they were closed. I told them they messed up my drink and asked for them to fix it, but all they would do was say they were closed. I walked around to the drive thru which there were 3 cars in line waiting for their drinks. I told the drive thru employee that my drink was wrong and they needed to fix it. The girl said that she can't have me at their drive through and I told her she wouldn't answer the door. She refused to remake my drink because they were closed. That the best she could do was make my drink tomorrow (Monday). Well I live in federal way, there is no way I am driving back to Renton tomorrow to get a drink fixed. I asked for a refund and she would not do that because they were closed. How can there be 3 cars waiting for drinks and not even paid for yet and the register is closed? By the way, what Starbucks closes at 2p on a Sunday? It does not make sense. Not to mention I waited 10 min for my drink. I will never go back to this Starbucks, and even considering boycotting all Starbucks. read more
