Maybe it's because XU is out for the summer, but there is no croissants or cake pops available on the multi times I've been there. There's a delightful older women, who I believe is the manager, is showing tremendous support of her staff. However, the staff are her giving her a run for her money. Do to closeness I regularly get my coffee at this location (on Xavier campus). However Yet again, as usual, and pretty much the normal they are "out of whip cream" again. Am I wrong here or is a barista running out of whip cream basically like ordering a cheese coney from Skyline only to find out they are out of cheese? Not sure the process to get whip cream stocked at University Station, but this is not the first time, and betting it won't be the last time they run out of it or something else. This is the worst Starbucks I have been to. The workers were terrible and had an attitude. I ordered a drink and waited over 30 minutes for it and when I asked if my drink was in progress the workers dismissed me and said that they we're working on it. Instead, they continued to talk to eachother and not work. I left after 40 minutes without a drink. It was not even busy. I do not recommend. read more

I was bummed when they closed down the Starbucks in the Norwood Krogers location. This is the next closest from where I live. Starbucks has never done me wrong. They are always consistent and my coffee always tastes the way I ask them to make it. This is located on the Xavier campus. Street parking located in the front and private parking in the back. The inside is very spacious and Xavier clothing store is located next door. Employees were very friendly and greeted us when we walked in. I ordered the Tall Flat White (2% Milk) and my boyfriend got the Cafe Americano. Both received in a timely manner and great quality. Definately returning again. read more

Imagine my reaction when I, a self-proclaimed Starbucks junkie, found out that said coffee shop was opening a location conveniently located on my route into work? PURE JOY. I'm embarrassed to admit it took me nearly two months to stop and scope it out, but when I did, it was everything I thought it would be -- except for two little things. I set my expectation pretty low as far as my service standards. I mean, I get that they just opened and there are a lot of drink combinations, so I can have a little sympathy for the employees, who seem to be all XU students (as they should be). So, crappy service aside, my only complaint was -- where the heck is the app barcode scanner?! As one of the newest shops in town, you'd THINK they'd have top-notch technology. But, when I showed the barista my iPhone app ready for scanning, she simply grabbed my phone and typed in my card number. Rookie move, Starbucks. All that aside, the space is huge and seems to have a good setup. There's a cluster of couches in the corner, ideal for studying, and tables scattered. Even with a large crowd, there'd still be plenty of breathing room. It's attached to the XU bookstore, but is essentially its own free-standing store. This is the worst Starbucks I've ever stepped foot in. And I didn't even get a drink. Went in there around 1 on a Sunday waited about 5 mins, there were 4 people working and about maybe 8 people in line. A boy working screamed "to everyone in line we aren't taking orders for 10 minutes" after we had already been waiting. And then another girl said "we won't be taking orders because we need to take a breath." It wasn't even that busy, they had less than 10 people in line and no one was even complaining or making a fuss so there was no reason to tell us we couldn't order after already waiting for more than 5 minutes. Also. She sarcastically said "We are out of caramel and can't make your caramel macchiatos so have a nice day". read more

Service is consistently bad-student workers on their phones or busy talking to each other, et al. One time I walked up to the register and had 4 (YES 4!) young adults just stop their conversation and look at me. They didn't. Say. A. Word. Creeeeepy. So I broke the silence and said, "hi. How are you?" I go to Starbucks...too much. And I know these employees consistently put their own twists on recipes. Keep that creativity for a paper you're writing 2 hours before it's due, kid. Just follow the recipe that Starbucks has spent millions of dollars to perfect. Trust me, you're not making it better. Location* is great of course! Good space, lots of free parking, free Jesuit Internet, etc! *(Too bad Starbucks has something in their contract with XU that says no other place in that shopping center can have coffee be over a certain percentage of their business...grinding that competition before it can even start. read more

They are constantly out of everything. Every breakfast sandwich, lemonade, bagels, bakery items, etc. Sometimes I am the first costumer, other times I come in the evening. There are 5 people behind the counter and 1 person seems to be doing something. Staff is constantly on cell phones and seem overall clueless. The place is usually a mess. Unfortunately, this is the only Starbucks on my way to work (hospital downtown). Hopefully they can clean up their act. read more

The line here is usually short, but any time during a game or in the morning the line gets long. I would suggest not coming here when there is a game on campus or midterm/finals week because the seating is usually all taken. This is definitely a student spot where we study, and X Cash is taken. The workers are mostly students, and are usually new. They do not take the Starbucks free rewards because their system isn't the Starbucks actual system which is frustrating and the reason for a star deduction. They have easy access bathrooms and a table for wheelchair accessibility. There is one large round table that is great for group projects or professional meetings. The hours on the Starbucks website, Yelp, and Apple maps all list this location as open at 7 am on Sundays, but when I got here at 7:45 am I could see employees behind the bar, but the lights were off and the doors were locked. College campus Starbucks so it will be crowded especially during the school year. But if you visit in the summer or winter months, it is generally less crowded. Knowing Xavier's class schedule is also useful in determining when to get your morning caffeine fix. To avoid the lines, you should arrive shortly after the hour on MWF (when students are in class) or just after 8:30am, 10:00am, 11:30am, and so on on T/R. Very specific, but works every time. The location is great but the service is not that great. The workers there are always standing around and talking. When there is a line that has a few people in it, there's one person taking orders, one person making the drinks and two workers standing around doing nothing. Their machines are also always consistently not working well. I once had to stand and wait for two-three minutes while they rebooted their system so that I could pay. read more

The location and the seating are great! The building was built in the last few years. There are businesses on the first floor with Xavier student housing on the floors above. Lots more seating here than other coffee shops around Cincy. A great place to read/study while enjoying your drink. The baristas are friendly and quick. I haven't run into a long line here yet. The drinks are made as well as any other Starbucks I've ever been to. There is street parking as well as a parking lot behind Starbucks. read more

This place is a 3 ring circus teetering on it's 4th ring! I've stopped at this campus location on two separate occasions, where they did not have any frappuccino base to make frappuccinos. What kind of asinine establishment is this?! Frappuccinos are one of their most popular drinks; therefore there's no excuse for this to happen more than once. Who's the ring master/manager of this circus? Who's managing the inventory of products for the store (clearly no one). Today 5/6/19 I stopped in for another admission to the circus; the first thing i noticed was the number of staff members there were behind the counter. It was literally one staff member for every customer that was seated in the store. The volume of the store was very minimum; there was no one even in line when I stopped in around 4:40 pm. Any-who; on today's visit the fuckery began before I could even place my order. They had a sign at the register stating that no one could pay with their Starbucks app, or use their Starbucks rewards due to some kind of system malfunction. Even better, you couldn't pay with a gift card either; the only method of payment being accepted was CASH (what kind of shady shit is that). I personally never pay with cash or anything other than the Starbucks app on my phone, since it is the most convenient way to pay, and I also earn rewards stars.
