I'm officially done with this location. Over the past month EVERY time I've been, my drink-ranging from Pike's Place to cold brew with cold foam-has been made incorrectly or has tasted disgusting. I don't know if they aren't properly training their new staff, or just simply don't care, but to pay a premium for a drink, I expect perfection every time. Starbucks is a uniformed machine and there should be no variation. What's worse is that the phone number? Doesn't work. These are not drinkable. Burnt, disgusting. read more

They were all about extremely nice and helpful! The food tasted good well looking advertising! The dirty chia latte was excellent and the sweet potato cupcake was an excellent addition! The serious strawberry looked perfect extremely advertising and it's tasted on point. The cookie do cake pop was extremely tasty and hot the spot and I would prefer it over the party cake pop any day but I still do recommend the party cake pop as it was very moist and delicious! read more

Starbucks never disappoints! Their coffee is the best, regardless of the city or state. I would always recommend them. I can now buy my favorite coffee ground or in whole beans. Or I can purchase pre packaged Keurig K Cups, or make it at home with my fill-it-yourself K Cups made for my model Keurig machine!! read more

Giving 5 stars at a Starbucks is highly unlikely if you're a real coffee connoisseur and don't like bitter, stale coffee that's been sitting on a warmer for at least an hour if not more. Unless....unless you're at this Starbucks, and that changes things. Even the atmosphere will have you wanting to hand out five stars everywhere as the place is truly as close to the perfect coffeehouse feel as you can get. With leather chairs and couches and tons of seating (I'm talking at least places for 50 with ease), this place blew my mind walking in. I wanted to stay there forever and a day. Can't forget about the real reason we come to coffee shops though. The coffee was great. Peppermint mocha with ristretto shots made the salted caramel cake pop (yep, you guessed it) POP. Sadly, I think I am done with this Starbucks. Their service has gone downhill. The last two visits there have been so subpar that I left almost in tears and shaking my head in amazement this morning. Last week, I ordered my usual breakfast sandwich, venti drink and two box meals (one for lunch and one for dinner) as my day was going to be a long one. The sandwich arrived within 5 minutes of placing my order - and was the only thing right all day. Almost 5 minutes after that, I watched the barista make my soy drink with regular milk. I asked her to remake it. She then shook cinnamon or something or other on it - there is NO CINNAMON a white chocolate mocha. So yes, please remake again. I finally got it made right. Another 6 minutes passed before someone at the drive through window realized that they had my box meals with them and brought them out to me, apologizing. And one of those meals? The apple slices were rotten - brown mush. I was very disappointed. 16 minutes, poor service and poor quality and way too much money for that nonsense. Today I returned and only ordered my usual venti and sandwich. I timed it. 12 minutes from start to finish. Really unacceptable. I got my breakfast sandwich within the first five minutes. The drink was a whole other matter. After waiting a few more minutes I watched the barista pump something into what ended up being my cup, look at it, dump it out and start over WITH A DIFFERENT PUMP. Um, wtf? I was praying at this point that it wasn't my cup. No such luck. Then, watching her make the drink, she forgot one of the items on my mobile order. More prayers went unanswered that this wasn't my cup. She called my name. I called her out. I asked what she had pumped into that cup and then dumped out and started over - the possibility of allergies and cross contamination is running very high. Why didn't she start over with a new cup??? She said "it was just regular chocolate versus white chocolate". Ok, so that is a strike against her and then where is the rest of the order? She looks at my sticker and mutters "I just assumed"..... sigh. No. That's why I have it as a specific special order. My experiences here have gone downhill and I can not recommend this place anymore. read more

The service is wonderful. Staff is friendly, drinks are prepared well. Wifi is super fast. Seating is bountiful. I'm giving this place 2 stars because they don't recycle, and that's idiotic. So very much of what they sell comes in paper or plastic packaging, including water and juice bottles. Starbucks doesn't have a corporate policy for in-store recylcing; it's at each store's discretion whether they want to do the easiest thing in the world to reduce human impact on the environment. Wanted to pay cash and break a 100 bill (amount owed was 22.11) and they acted like that was an absurd request. The poor hipster running the register was so shaken by my request, she had to go get another one to explain to me that all my change would be in 5s and 1s. I cannot believe they don't have 4 20 dollar bills, or even 3 to give me. Then they proceeded to talk about me while they made my drinks (my daughter overheard). We stop here anytime we head west on I70. Not all Starbucks are created equal. The food is pretty much high-end prepackaged and microwaved if you want it warm, and thus the same everywhere. A bakery would help a lot (or just a few inhouse baked goods). Service and the coffee temperature are the only variables. Today, this place actually had more laptops on tables than customers using them. The counter help and service is usually fast. It was, however, nearing the magic hour of shift change, so only one register had a human behind it, and the line grew long. Maybe that explains all those laptops. I rarely order anything other that a latte, and their plain coffee is too bitter (I brew Peets at home). Latte can vary from lukewarm to scalding. This place gets it right. Even if you get the coffee right, shift change is not a time to forget the customer. Eat well, tip well. read more

I love this location and the staff. I'm am always treated with respect and my drinks are spot on. I even have large orders on the mobile app. I see people being all twisted out of shape over having to wait longer than 60 seconds for their orders. It clearly states to allow 10-15 minutes before you come in to pick up. The woman in front of me ordered on her phone and stood to wait. Poor privileged Americans with no patience whatsoever. In all honesty, the nicest Starbucks I've ever been to. It is in a stand-alone building that used to be 3 different fast food restaurants in the past, so it does have that 'fast food building' look to it on the outside, but it's quite a nice little place to go with a warm, well-done interior. The inside is spacious and airy but still cozy at the same time. There's a fireplace, a wealth of upholstered chairs to sit in as well as a nice little nook with two sofas facing each other and a coffee table between them. I always enjoy sitting in the big chaise lounge, which is right next to the door to the patio seating area outside. The best thing about this Starbucks is that it is so spacious and it's actually enjoyable to sit here and relax. A lot of Starbucks don't have that same welcoming feeling when you walk in, and they don't have a lot of sitting room, or they're busy and noisy. This is a relatively quiet place to go and enjoy a coffee with a friend. You'll want to linger instead of rushing out. Just pray there aren't too many fellows with laptops hogging all of the comfy chairs. read more

The slowest service I have seen. I have literally waited 25 minutes in the drive thru with a screaming infant. They are also consistently out of food items. Every time I try to order a food item - which is almost weekly - they "have to check to see if they have it". 9 times out of 10, they do not have it. Please allow me to first share that I am an avid enthusiast of Starbucks and a gold card carrier! I have visited every Starbucks location within a 50-mile radius of where I live, work, and play. My biggest gripe with Starbucks has always been the inconsistency of beverages from one location to the next. I always order the same drink, almost daily - a tall coffee frappuccino with an extra pump of frappuccino roast. I know how it should taste. I can honestly say that after over a dozen visits to this Mt. Airy location (the stand-alone store, NOT the one tucked away in Safeway), it is the best so far. Rude, hipster douche bags. Came in at 9pm. Ask for a decaf. Guy behind counter says, "We don't have decaf right now." Me: "Can you do a pour over?" Him: "I don't have my pour over set up right now." I have been patient, waiting to write this complaint. Yesterday just forced the issue. Store Mt. Airy, MD. The majority of the staff is not pleasant- clearly they do it like their roles. Yesterday (8/10/2018)- going in @ 1:30 found two customers using WiFi and staff just chatting behind the counter. I felt like a real inconvenience for wanting to order. Sadly, the space was filthy. This saddened me. I decided to try one more time 08/11/2018) at 7:00am. The store was even dirtier. Very disappointing because the newly renovated store has such potential to be visually appealing. This Starbucks is crazy busy! I opted to go inside to grab a drink and a breakfast sandwich because the drive thru line was so long! But of course inside was just as long. I never realized how large this place was though, there was tons of seating, indoor and outdoor. Tons of people, and tons of employees to accommodate them. This is your stereotypical Starbucks with all of the normal options. I personally do not mess with the fluffy drinks but I am always pleased with the coffees on tap. If you come in and expect to find a seat on the weekends you may be disappointed. This place is generally packed out on Saturday and Sunday. Customer Service is nice as well. read more

This location is doing an amazing job during covid. My friend and I were there to pick up our coffee today when a woman walked in with no mask. Madison immediately jumped in and politely asked if she had a mask with her. The woman said no and Madison gave her a free one. Whoever this lady was ended up fighting Madison on it and was extremely rude. Madison was nothing but respectful and polite and I was impressed to say the least. During this time people like Madison are valued. I felt safer knowing this Starbucks is doing their job keeping our community safe. I came here for a meeting. It's a nice atomosphere, cool vibe. It's a lot bigger than I thought. Lots of tables and comfortable seating. I only had a hot green tea. It was okay. There's not a lot of parking connected to the building. If it's crowed there's plenty of space in the rest of the shopping center. The bathroom was really dirty. The floor was dirty and there was tissue and trash on the floor. This was surprising because I was there at 11:30 am. All in all I'd go here again. read more

I usually have great experiences at area Starbucks. Friendly faces, smiles, and an exchange of greetings and farewells. All of the previous times I visited this Starbucks I've gotten decent drinks and been relatively pleased with the service. About two weeks ago, my visit was less than pleasant due to a grumpy drive-thru operator at this Mount Airy, MD location. I had my card ready when I pulled up to the window and attempted to exchange my usual pleasantries. Nothing seemed to phase or break through the stern and frowning demeanor of the individual at the window. Thankfully, I've got a Starbucks near home and work so stopping along the way isn't really necessary. I don't need to stop here and put an additional damper on my day - my commute to work already does that. I'd still recommend this location to anyone looking for a convenient place to stop and grab some decent Starbucks coffee drinks - don't expect consistently stellar customer service though. read more

I'm not just giving Starbucks a five star review because it's the love of my life. I'm reviewing this place so highly because of the great atmosphere and service. This is actually one of the cleanest Starbucks I have ever seen. Usually when I walk into Starbucks I see some trash here and there but I have only seen like one straw wrapper before. This might just be the good people of mount airy cleaning up but I assume that it's the great staff. Speaking of the staff, this Starbucks has the best customer service ever. I have some favorites like Summer and Gia but just saying they are outstanding. They work fast and with a great attitude to get you your coffee ASAP! They forgot our drinks twice and gave us Starbucks cash so our next drink wee wouldn't have to pay for. This place also has a great atmosphere whether it's breakfast at the fireplace or studying for midterms at the counter. It just gives you a nice relaxing calming enjoyable feeling when your there. I had a great experience here this morning. I get to work early so I appreciate their early hours. I called at 5am to preorder a traveler box of coffee and they answered immediately and got my order in asap. I got there 20 min later and my box was ready. I ordered an iced coffee which the barista suggested some changes to my liking and oatmeal, both were ready in minutes. Everything was great! No coffee, the machine is broken. But they can still make all the mocha coca crap drinks. The whole place is a disaster, trash on the floor everywhere. Pastry case looks like wild animals got in it. Stopped after cross country trip specifically to get a Moca Cafe. So disappointed. Place run by young adults with no concept of the importance of cleanliness. The counter soak and wet ice cubes every where Barista using dirty cloth to soak up liquid, which only makes it worse, in between making orders. Then she touches each cup and top with bare wet contaminated hands before repeating again. Not to mentioned her cups are all over flowing as she slides the orders across the wet filthy counter. The young man behind the counter has the industrial mop and he's slanging it and soaking the floor behind the counter. The customers condiment area is littered with sugar, cinnamon and liquids on everything, imagine setting your wet and stained cup of coffee down on that. Not what I'm use too at Starbucks.
