And saw the "under" orientation of the toilet paper, which violates the original patent for toilet paper holders from 1891, where the paper clearly goes over the top. The "over" configuration: * prevents the roll from brushing the wall * makes it easier to grab with one hand * reduces accidental unrolling * and, most importantly, does not make decent people feel like they're living in a lawless society. What you have here is bathroom anarchy. I must admit that tile and brushed metal fixtures actually look really nice, which somehow makes the backward roll even more upsetting. It's like a beautifully plated meal served on the floor. Moreover, the ceiling contains approximately 400 judgmental eyes observing you while you attempt to live your life. The wallpaper on the ceiling (on the ceiling!!!) has a pattern based on the "evil eye" motif (sometimes called nazar), which shows up in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern design. Traditionally it's supposed to ward off bad luck or jealousy. All it does in this case is confirm the establishment has abandoned reason and at least one of the people who work has met a psychedelic mushroom. Still, the vibe everywhere else in this place is amazing and the coffees are very very good!

What a hidden little gem! Visited during December and the line is still out the door!…read more Pros -has its own parking lot but be careful, some spaces are reserved -physical space has seating, tables, and a few comfy chairs inside. There is a long bar area and also a smaller bar area near the cashier area for seating. The place is warm and cozy, definitely a place where the baristas will start to know your orders. We noticed an outdoor seating area but couldn't see the space fully to know how big it was. -service was friendly and served with smiles -I didn't see a whole lot of food options. Luckily, we came on a Saturday, when waffles are served. -tons of coffee, tea options. And hot cocoa for the kids. They even put whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. My daughter felt very fancy! -waffles were delicious! Fluffy and filling! Kid approved! Cons -possibly a few more food options. I only saw toast and waffles (only on weekends) We had a great experience and would absolutely return again!

Since the building used to be a gas station, the Cafe has placed picnic tables outside for those who want to enjoy the fresh air on a warm day. The decor is whimsical, warm and cozy. You can buy fresh produce from a mini farm stand inside the cafe as well as honey and other products. You'll find the standard drink fare on the menu: coffee and tea. There was a small sign near the register (I almost missed it) that stated apple cider was available, which I ended up choosing. I was little disappointed in the drink selection because I'd hoped to buy a matcha latte, but it was not on the menu above the register. I did discover that they do have matcha lattes on the *online* menu as well as other food items that were not advertised inside the cafe. The lady taking the orders was very nice, but I felt bad because she seemed a little overwhelmed. A gentleman stood in the kitchen baking and completing food orders. I noticed that there were fresh croissants and other baked goods sitting on the counter in the kitchen, but the only baked items available to purchase were cookies. I visited at approximately 9:45 on a Saturday morning (the cafe opened at 9:00), so I was surprised to see that none of the other baked good were displayed for purchase. I would have enjoyed a good croissant, but they were being kept in the back. The cafe was also eerily silent. There were maybe ten people inside, including small groups who arrived together, but no one spoke. Maybe everyone was a little bleary-eyed and still waking up, but is was kind of unnerving how silent everyone was. Don't get me wrong, it was the perfect setting for someone who needed to study, but no one was doing that. I certainly don't blame that on the Cafe, but it would be nice if there was some nice music playing softly in the background. I can't say that I had the best experience at The Station Market and Cafe, but I wouldn't deter others from trying it out themselves. Maybe I was there on an off day.

How did I make it to nearly 50 years old before discovering Biscoff Cookie Butter? Honestly, I feel…read morelike I wasted decades of my life living in complete ignorance. I ordered the Biscoff Cookie Butter milkshake at Swirls Ice Cream Shop in Frederick, Maryland, and I am not being dramatic when I say it gave me goosebumps and made my toes curl. One sip and suddenly I understood joy on a spiritual level. It was creamy, rich, perfectly blended, and tasted like angels crushed up caramelized cookies and decided to bless humanity. I genuinely sat there questioning every life decision that had not previously involved Biscoff. But Swirls isn't just about incredible ice cream and milkshakes, the place has personality and it's cute. On many Saturdays they host fun events that make it feel like a community party instead of just an ice cream stop. One weekend they had Elsa and Olaf from Frozen hanging out with kids, another time they had a beekeeper featuring honey milkshakes because apparently these people wake up every day asking themselves, "How can we make life more magical?" Mission accomplished. Swirls is the kind of place that reminds you simple things can still absolutely delight you. Great people, creative flavors, fun events, and a Biscoff milkshake powerful enough to alter brain chemistry. 11/10. My life can now officially be divided into two eras: Before Biscoff and After Biscoff.

The best thing they have to offer is their coffee and drinks. They're very good and consistent. I am not a fan of their baked goods or breakfast sandwiches. The breakfast sandwiches are served in warm bagels (not toasted) and the bacon seems like pre-cooked bacon a the egg is also ore-cooked and steamed. Very disappointed not getting fresh eggs and bacon. Would not recommend their breakfast sandwiches when there are far better options in the area. The baked goods were okay, but there are better options locally.

Everyone was welcoming and the atmosphere made the place feel very comfortable right away. The highlight for me was their red pepper soup, which was honestly one of the best soups I've ever had. Coming all the way from Riverside, I can confidently say this is a must stop if you're visiting Frederick. I also tried their spiced chai and it was excellent. The coffee itself wasn't exactly my personal preference, but I noticed plenty of people ordering it, so it's clearly a popular choice. Overall, if you're in downtown Frederick and want great hospitality and an amazing bowl of soup, this place is definitely worth the visit.
