Starbucks in Montvale is a decent spot for a coffee run, but there are a few challenges that keep it from being ideal. The store is often quite messy, likely due to the heavy crowd, especially when school lets out and younger kids flock in. It can get overwhelmingly busy and noisy, making it hard to find a quiet corner to relax or work. Parking is another headache, as the shopping center layout makes it tricky to find a spot during peak hours. My complaint was the girl behind the couch yet was a bit rude to me when I ordered a medium latte with an extra espresso shot, as she responded with "it's grande not medium here". I'm aware grande is their "medium" size however grande means large so didn't really appreciate that attitude as it was totally unnecessary. The staff is generally friendly, though, and the drinks are made well, so it's not all bad. However their pricing has become very overpriced. read more

The one thing I like about this location is the bigger space. It's also in a good complex if you want to go to restaurants or buy groceries. There are a few arm chairs and tables. But I haven't been impressed with the service so I'd rather go someplace else to get my coffee fix. There's outdoor seating in the warm weather. read more

I had a very uncomfortable experience watching the manager, I think his name was Chris, dress down and obvious high school girl, mentioning her concussion, making her use up her sick days, and her unwillingness to work till 10 o'clock at night on a Saturday. I don't know what this manager expects of a girl who is served me with a cheerful smile in the past, but this is not how I would run a Starbucks. read more

Stopped here on the way to Newark Airport. Had an hour wait because flight was delayed so we stopped in here to wait. 5 people behind the counter and customers came in waves. Slow at most time busy at others. We walked into a messy seating area and not one employee came out to wipe down tables sweep the floor or throw away left over empty cups. Yes I agree some customers are disgusting and leave their trash every where. But not to keep your establishment clean for those of us who don't want to get sick is a bit much. I get it during slow times I get employees like to chat but I was always taught in the restaurant business keep your hands moving and keep wiping things down while you talk! This is by far my favorite location in the Bergen/Rockland areas. They are always busy as they are so close to Wegmans and local corporations. I must say they staff this joint with some winners. But on Friday afternoon, November 15th, about 2:30 pm, I witnessed the "Tom Cruise of Cocktail" baristas...his name is Robbie. The way he handled the mobile orders with the waiting customers was amazing. Give that man a raise. The vibe is great where great music is always playing and the decor choices very on point! I've been to this Starbucks a few times since they opened. The staff is friendly, the place is roomy, everything appears clean and they haven't yet screwed up any of my orders. I've dropped the Ramsey location as a friendly face and well made drink outweighs convenience. They can get busy during peak hours but I've never had to wait more than 5 min for an 8am latte. read more

Very nice location!! Very big open space. High ceiling. Friendly staff. Decent amount of sitting space but I think there's enough space for a few more chairs/small tables. The posted menu on the wall behind the counter is a little small, I've seen much much bigger in smaller locations. A bit confusing when trying to purchase drinks in reusable cups. But as in most locations, the staff was friendly, courteous and trying to help. Our drinks are pretty consistent regardless of which Starbucks we are in. I appreciate the consistency since green tea Frappuccino is my treat when traveling. read more

The worst possible Starbucks I've ever been too. Slowest, most unorganized, worst customer service...I just placed a mobile order for 2 coffees and a croissant, there's an empty pouch with my name on it waiting for me, no coffees ready. So I'm standing there waiting for my coffee and the barista brings it over and I said oh I got a croissant to. With a nasty attitude she tells me oh we are out of them go to the front and ask for a refund or exchange it. The line was out the door so they can keep the money for my croissant and enjoy this negative review. I had a wonderful experience at this location. The staff was very friendly and made my order of 5 drinks out in less than 10 minutes! At the time there was no menu to be seen but after asking for recommendations, they were openly willing to help. This place is spacious and convenient for meetings, studying, or even enjoying a friendly conversation with friends. 8:45am. Friday the 21st of May. Closed. This location consistently horrible service. Guess they had it coming.

I was in line forever and then finally received only half my order. When I asked the barista where my two other iced coffees where I was met with an attitude. She said mobile orders where ahead of me which made no sense because I had already received my egg white bites and a grande pike. They then proceeded to mess up my moms order and forgot the coconut milk and handed her a bitter tasting iced coffee. I was then told they had no more cold brew after waiting over 20 minutes and I would have to wait longer for them to change the keg. I declined because my eggs were already cold and was in a rush to get to work. What poor customer service I will never return to this location. I am so thirsty now and had to travel to park ridge to finally get my coffee. I should be compensated for my travel cost and gas it took to get to another starbucks. read more

This staff at this Starbucks is unprofessional. My little sister ordered a lemonade-based drink (as a special birthday treat), and when she received it, there was no lemonade in it whatsoever. When she asked the barista if there was lemonade in the drink, she was told that they didn't carry lemonade in this location, and so they made the drink without it rather than just telling her beforehand. The manager stepped in and recommended a new drink, which he gladly made for her. However, if they had been upfront at the beginning, she could've gone to a different nearby location for the drink she actually wanted. TLDR: Very limited stock, unprofessional staff will let you order and pay for drinks that they can't make. read more

I am not typically a coffee drinker, but I got a gift card from one of my students for Christmas. I know that Starbucks has specialty drinks, so I figured I could get one of those. When I walked in, I saw no menu to figure out what I could get. I asked one of the baristas if they had a menu and they said that it didn't come yet. No one offered to list what they had or help me figure out what to get. I had to look up the menu online. When I went back up to order, I said that they should probably have a paper menu printed out so that people could know what they have. Someone that looked like a manager rudely replied, you can go on the website and print a menu out yourself. All I ended up getting was a small hot chocolate and it was $3.
