Had the gluten free carrot cake today. It was SCRUMPTIOUS! Texture of cake was perfect and icing was really good, not too sweet. Dean's Coffee is a hidden gem for tasty gluten free treats! read more

The best coffee shop I've ever been to in NJ (and it's not even in NJ). Every time I'm near Pearl River, I have to stop at Dean's. The drinks never miss and the almond croissant is to die for. read more

Surprised by some of the poor reviews as we had a pleasant experience at Dean's. Atmosphere: - Typical trendy coffee shop with brick exposed walls and lots of fun signs throughout the shop. - There's not a ton of seating but certainly enough that you can sit and enjoy your coffee if you so choose. Coffee: - We ordered a lavender iced latte and a fall sugar latte. The lavender latte was perfect; not too sweet and the right balance of all ingredients. The sugar latte was also well balanced and not overly sweet. We enjoyed our drinks. Service: - The barista was friendly and provided recommendations of the fall line up. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to come back. read more

Asked nicely for a pourover coffee from the menu and the guy behind the counter, without even looking at me, says "I don't have pour overs right now" ... It is really just pouring water over a filter. Thank you. read more

Salmaria, the owner, is the best - so kind, remembers each customer's favorite, and is a baker extraordinaire! Best espresso in Pearl River.

Good coffee, the seasonal drinks are always nice to try and the baked goods are beyond good I love the everything croissant, and the usual barista is so nice! The place is cute inside too. read more

There are few quality coffee houses anymore. I used to frequent Damien & Sinclair in downtown Nyack. It closed too after a good run. I've spoken to the owner who used to visit the defunct wine bar. The cappuccino was legit and the pastries above average. We need more spaces like this in Rockland Co. Thanks Dean's Coffee. One more thing, I hope your hours have expanded since the pandemic. Otherwise, Dean's Coffee is a solid place to sip delicious drinks and relax. read more

Very nice and cozy good coffee and pastries verry relaxing place cool music playing in background.

Dean's is a cozy coffee shop with seating space to plant yourself and work, or to sit with friends. They have yummy homemade pastries and the owner also hand-makes a pretty good selection of vegan/GF treats. My husband always gets the cortado, and I like the iced lavender latte with oat milk. The staff is friendly and we just love this place so much as our "spot," we used to live right down the street but now we'll drive 30 minutes just to spend an afternoon here! It can get a little crowded but if you need a spot to sit it'll usually open up soon. read more

Been tired of the commercial brand of Starbucks and other commercial companies, so found Dean's coffee through yelp after hitting a local comic book store by the Pearl River train station. Walked up the block and my first visit, I was hooked. Coffee is excellent and drinks are hand crafted and not rushed out like a Starbucks assembly line. They also bake fresh muffins, cakes, and scones and are very good. Atmosphere is also very warm and service is very friendly. Can sit down relax, read a book or comic and just have some good coffee. Only issue is they are open only till 4pm but would never let that effect my rating. Sometimes reduced hours are better. read more

Far superior to chain donut shops in area; creative baking; courteous service. Old-fashioned charm.

This was my boyfriend and I's first time at Deans and the service and coffee was GREAT! I got an iced dirty chai, he got a creme brûlée iced latte. We got a CC cookie and a delicious slice of blueberry/lemon pound cake. The young girl behind the counter was so kind and helpful as it was our first time there with so many great options to choose from. When back in the area we will definitely be returning! read more

Dean's Coffee - a man standing at a counter in a coffee shop - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Pearl River, New York

We just enjoy Dean's so much! The variety of coffees are amazing! The owner, Sal, bakes delicious baked goods! Her son, Z, always makes us feel so welcome! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. A visit here makes your day! It is an invaluable addition to our town! We appreciate the excellent service! read more

I have been a regular customer at Deans for a few years. The coffee is always excellent and I prefer it far more then any other local options nearby. The service here is great with very personable staff who always makes time for a little small talk with me and other customer that frequent the shop. I would recommend Deans to anyone and I will continue to go there. read more

Hit or miss. This place has good coffee when the dude is here, but otherwise it's awful. They're generally rude here. You'll have to stare at the back of the chick who works here while she washes dishes bc she's not interested in selling you coffee until she finishes what she's doing. Inattentive and cranky, borderline hostile. read more

Love this coffee shop, great customer service, delicious chai tea latte and pastries

Adorable small coffee shop tucked into Downtown Pearl River. Got the Nutty Irishwoman and it was so delicious. Also got a a muffin and it was very fresh. Mix of people sitting in the store, everyone from high school students doing homework to workers during their lunch hour. New gem in PR and so glad to have stumbled across it. read more

Love supporting this family run, small business!! The drinks are great and the owner makes the most delicious treats, GF options as well. The owners and people working could not be nicer. read more

Love this coffee spot! The atmosphere is super cozy and the selection of pastries and coffee is wonderful! Everything taste fresh and is very appetizing. Will go back! Very sanitary as well! read more

I have been a fan of this family-owned business since they opened. Pearl River needed a quality coffee shop because the Art Cafe in Nyack is played out and I appreciate having a spot close to home. They always wear masks and are very nice to me every time I go. My personal favorite is the Nutty Irish Woman! read more

Great coffee stopped in after the gym and the service was great! They have such great flavor combos for coffee ! Would recommend

The coffee here tastes like plastic. It was good the first time, but ever since then it's been consistently bad.The service is quite disappointing. Had a weird encounter with the male barista on a Tuesday (I sure hope he was not the owner), which I take to be creepy and flirty. This was not a pleasant experience and they need to hire more professional people. They need to step up their service and coffee game. I wouldn't come here again. read more

Best coffee and service in rockland. This coffee shop is definitely my go to every morning! The place is beautiful and they make you feel like family. If your in the area check it out for yourself :) read more

Pass this place by. $3.25 for a little cup of iced black coffee. Tastes burnt. The guy behind the counter doesn't care that his price is ripoff and his coffee is not good. You can get twice as much coffee that tastes far better for $2.91 right up the street at Dunkin Donuts. read more

Extremely disappointed today after going here for a take out coffee. All the customers were masked and following the safety rules that all businesses must follow. It was the barista that was the problem. I was with my friend who actually knows him and is a frequent customer. When she asked him to pull his mask up over his nose he looked at us and said "seriously"? To which I replied. "Yes I do want you to wear your mask". He pulled his mask up but it slipped down again almost immediately. My friend asked him again and he just looked at us like we were crazy. I paid (and of course did not leave a tip). When my friend for the third time advised him to wear his mask properly before we left and he once again just gave us attitude. I have been here many times and have enjoyed chatting with this young man every time. His attitude toward us today because we just want him to follow the stores (and states) own safety regulations was shocking. I will not go to this establishment again. read more

So happy to find this place, been looking for a local coffee shop (other than DD/Starbucks) in the area for a very long time! I only stumbled upon it after being in Pearl River, randomly saw the 5 star reviews on Google and was very surprised there wasn't any on Yelp! My family and I stopped by and had some great cold brew and pastries. We will definitely be back, local coffee shops are SO much better than the chains. Also a good way to support small businesses! read more

I can't believe out of all the places in Pearl River this establishment got such a nasty review. I've never seen anybody be so kind and welcoming and generous in running a business. Especially being alone all day. Their coffee is the best, their pastries are from one of the best bakeries around and on top of that you can find amazing homemade cakes and goodies. Did I mention that they're the some of the nicest, most humble people I've ever come across in any kind of establishment. For god sakes I feel safer with my kids in there than anywhere else. I wish I could put more stars than five. read more
