Such friendly and very organized staff. I did an online order and it was exactly on time as estimated (around 10-10:30am). There is less of a rush after 10am. Drink was perfect and delicious! Everything was stocked as well. read more

Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

I was in town for a sociology conference and generally unimpressed with the Skywalk. There are no public restrooms so although it's long and enticing, a man who drinks coffee and takes diuretics for high blood pressure just can't wander far from his hotel. There aren't a lot of coffee choices around here to begin with (I was staying at the Sonesta) and those that are open are either not good coffee (the Sonesta) or closed too often. I don't usually like non-Union Starbucks but a remarkable and wonderful thing happened here. It was truly amazing. My clueless entitled White friend butted in front of an Asian looking fellow. The cashier said, "I'm sorry, he is next in line." She served the Asian-American while my friend apologized. We all got decent coffee in the order we came in, irrespective of race. It was groovy (this is an old fashioned word which means it was very good). read more

Starbucks - a coffee shop counter with a person standing at the counter - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

I do not go to Starbucks often, and only started going in 2022 when I received a gift card. You have to really tweak your drinks, and I'm not always in the mood for that. The staff are friendly and fast, despite this being a really busy location. They get things right and send you along your way with a smile. Make sure you go up to the counter to check for your stuff, as there's usually a big crowd waiting outside and your order might be waiting for you. read more

My love of Starbucks goes back to 1993, which I would guess was when I first found them in Mpls. Other than Dunn Bros, SB was the first legit coffee seller I had come across. I then bought SB coffee daily and started acquiring a SB City Mug collection. I've included photos from my home, showing a portion of my 350+ array of mugs, from all over the planet. Obsession is not always a good or bad thing, but if you are in the market for old SB mugs, let me know! Anyway, 30 years later, SB is a global behemoth and their coffee is no longer anything special. When you enter the shop nearest to me, IDS Crystal Court, black coffee seems the least of it. It's such a small space, given the morning crowd, but it's virtually all to-go, especially for the crush of downtown workers getting the morning caffeine, bakery, fruit, sous vide eggs and all manner of espresso-based concoctions. SB sells coffee, technically, but it seems an afterthought. In fact, about 6-9 months ago, I'd noticed the coffee dispensers had subtly changed. Instead of flowing out of the spigot, it takes about 45 seconds for the cup to fill. The coffee is far less tasty, as if prepared on a Keurig. Ugh. Caveat emptor, coffee drinkers. read more

Centrally located in the IDS Center's Crystal Court, this Starbucks attends to the office working crowd. There is not much seating and is sort of a tight fit, but the point here is to get your coffee and go back to your desk. Given this clientele, they are very efficient in processing mobile as well as in person orders quickly and without mistakes. I have been here several times either ordering in person or doing a mobile pickup and have never had a problem. read more

Came in here with my daughter who is afraid of dogs to get some coffee. The manager let someone in with an unleashed big dog. They seemed to know each other. I have had many bad experiences with dogs off leash in Minneapolis. More dangerous than most dog owners understand. Why did they let this person in and serve them? So frustrating to see this in a skyway shop. read more

The IDS Center Starbucks. In a unique downtown Minneapolis location where America's largest skyway system and Minnessota's tallest building meet is the IDS Center Starbuck's. In this Grande of a building and skyway system I'd partake in a couple of tall cups of coffee. Disparate from the IDS Center and Minneapolis Skyway system this is a relatively small Starbuck's. There are only a few seats. However, they include the comfortable plush sofa seats. The one where I sat nearest the skyway is great for people watching. This view catches the energy in the core of the skyway system in the shadow of the 57-story IDS Tower in the heart of downtown Minneapolis. The day I visited it was a mellow energy because both the Starbuck's and IDS Center were not that busy. However, if the seats had been full it was only a short walk down the escalator into the indoor Crystal Court where I could choose from 68 white benches including ones with a view of a 105 foot tall cascading water fall to enjoy my beverage. On the other hand if my bladder had been full it was a distant walk to the Nordstrom Rack basement rest room. And from the IDS Center Starbuck's it was a moderate walk to the majority of downtown points of interest by ways of four skyways. Partaking in this unique Starbuck's experience was relatively inexpensive. The cup of tall coffee was competitive to the majority of corporate owned locations which was $2 and change. It was an inexpensive price to pay for enjoying priceless moments in the IDS Center over quickly coffee. read more

Super friendly Starbucks location, inside the IDS tower as others have noted. I'm glad that Starbucks recently launched their Blonde roast coffee. It's definitely lighter and doesn't have that "burnt" taste that the Pike blend has. BUT... it is kinda funny asking for a "Tall Blonde". This location said that it's even funnier when it IS a tall blonde asking for a "Tall Blonde". Also, as Alexa C states -- they do move the lines pretty fast here. They're efficient! read more

Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

I met a friend of mine to discuss life over a breakfast coffee. The Starbucks is a nice small enclave in the IDS center, the tallest building in Minneapolis. I worked here for 2 years and it was a blast to see all the movers and shakers run in and out of here. The Crystal Court lower level is an awesome design of windows and such that make for a great place to sit on a bench with a friend and talk with a wonderful cup of coffee. They have a cool fountain that drops about two stories into a beautiful pool of H2O. (Weird story aside, a guy threw a barbell through a window while I worked there and jumped through the windows of the Crystal Court. Selfish way to kill yourself, but unique. We were just glad he didn't hit anyone on the way down.) Anyway, the service at this Starbucks was spectacular and I had my java in a few minutes. Just an overall great experience. read more

Starbucks - Cherry blossom frappucino! - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

When I'm in downtown Minneapolis I always enjoy visiting this location. I usually stop by when I have 2-3 other errands in the IDS Building or nearby. While this specific location can be particularly busy, they always have fast service and a smile. No matter how busy it is, the baristas are always upbeat, smiling, and "at your service." This is a smaller Starbucks location, but worth visiting. read more

The usual good experience that I have at any Starbucks location. This store is tucked into the second floor of the IDS Tower in the corner. Although the space is small they make good use of what they have. You walk in and order towards the rear of the store. Everything in this store is normal price which is nice, doesn't have "mall" pricing from what I could tell. Just ordered two plain coffees and the person who took our order quickly filled them so we did not have to wait. There is a few tables within the store, mostly high tops. A decent environment to sit down and enjoy your coffee because of all the natural light that the IDS center has but I can see the space getting crammed. They do allow mobile ordering here which when I was there, many people took advantage of. Probably those working in the building and nearby realize that the line could get long here so they order in advance and there's a nice tiered table that stacks all the preordered drinks from the Starbucks app. Allows for easy grab and go without dealing with the line in the back of the store. The usual Starbucks experience where I can get a super hot coffee that's instantly ready for around $2. My only complaint is that they have switched the menus around to show more content and less options/pricing. I understand that many people already know what they like from Starbucks but not showing exhaustive price lists seems odd because people really don't know what they're about to pay! read more

I just spent 10 nights at the Marquette, and was delighted to find this Starbucks in the IDS. I was BEYOND delighted by the friendliness, efficiency, and helpfulness of all the baristas. Other than coffee, the thing I get most often is a non-fat, banana-chocolate smoothie...minus mocha, add one scoop vanilla bean. Simple...except as I travel the country, nine out of ten baristas look at me sideways when I order it and ask questions they really shouldn't (like, "Do you still want protein powder?" Or, "So you don't want chocolate at all, or is it that you just want less?"). So I braced myself for whatever the baristas at this location would say the first time I ordered. But all he said was, "Hmmm...that sounds good!" They got it, it was made perfectly, and that was my experience the entire time I was there. As others have said, it's a busy location--but the staff is speedy. And although there isn't a lot of room to study/work, they do have a lot of outlets for plugging in. Loved that, too! Now that I'm back home, I miss them....and told my regular baristas that, next to them, the staff at the IDS location is the best!! read more

If you want a Starbucks where everyone knows your name and drink, then this is the place. A regular hangout for the corporate crowd it is nessled in the corner of the IDS building on the skyway level overlooking the Crystal Court. Location is small and noisy, if you are looking for a quiet place to have a quick meet and greet, this isn't the place but there are plenty of benches in the Crystal Court if you take you caffeine to go. For newcomers stay to the left when ordering... Those of us who have already put in our order are hanging out on the right side of the coffee shop. Clear sign of a newbie is waiting in the wrong line and doubling the delay of your coffee. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks to go to, especially in the morning. They know what I want and don't give me hassle. They are really friendly but not at the expense of other customers. Before we moved my bus dropped me off on Nicolette which made this on my way to the office. Now I am dropped off on Hennepin so I am trying to figure out my route to the office so I can come here instead of the one in City Center. read more

Nice people - of course, who isn't nice to your face in Minnesota? :-) Honestly, this is a good crew, and they're always willing to help get your day off to a good start. They move the line along pretty well, so don't be afraid if the line bleeds out the door into the IDS Center. They'll get ya. They will. read more

The best Starbucks downtown, located in IDS tower. Nice, friendly baristas and they will get you in and out under 10 min, no matter how long that line appears to be. They are so fast, they will make your head spin, that is until that first sip of the amazing caffeinated drink. Not a whole lotta of space, so if you are planning to study or work, go to the one in City Center. read more

FAST FAST FAST! This is one of my favorite locations anywhere! They are so fast! This location gets crazy busy in the mornings with all of the IDS Center traffic, but they handle it well! Starbucks - Coffee & Tea Near Me - Minneapolis, Minnesota

I've visited several dozen Starbucks locations in a number of states, and this one is easily the worst, in my experience (and I've been here 20+ times over the past several years). It should be at least twice its size given its central location and how busy it gets. The store is maybe 20 feet wide total, including the space behind the counter, resulting in an akwardly cramped arrangement of tables along one wall and the line in between the tables that is forced to curve around on itself due to a lack of space. This wouldn't be a big issue if the line moved at any reasonable speed, but it doesn't since 95% of the time only one cashier is working (despite there being two registers). Generally speaking, it takes at least 10 minutes from entering to leaving to get a drink and can take much longer. By contrast, I can routinely get through the line at the CIty Center location in 5 minutes or less, even with a custom espresso drink. I think this is a result of the IDS location being understaffed, which has the unfortunate effect of sometimes making the staff short and unfriendly with customers. Today I walked in around 2:20 to simply get a small coffee and snack, and the one cashier working was slowly taking orders with very little sense of urgency. It would have easily been 2:35 before I left. There have also been several experiences here in which I or someone I'm with has had to return drinks, either because they were poorly made or the cashier didn't listen to the order (including very basic stuff like cold vs. hot, type of flavor in the drink). If time isn't important to you and you don't mind a cramped, awkwardly layout and the potential for your drink to come out wrong, by all means, hit up the IDS Starbucks. Otherwise, I'd recommend one of the other downtown locations, even if it means you have to walk further (it's worth it). read more

I visited this place 3 separate times and each time I had a different experience. 1st time was awesome. Friendly greeting, good preparation of my drink 2nd time was meh. There was a line and it was a midday rush for caffeine. 3rd time was disappointing. With no one in sight, I was standing there for about a minute, when I started calling out, "hello..anyone back there?" since the back storage room door was open. No one came out. I waited another minute more, then I left. read more

Starbucks has Happy Hour from 3-5 p.m. May 6-15. HH consists of half priced Frappuccinos...this is a great way to transition from winter to summer drinks! Went there this past weekend and I get it, it was a busy Saturday with the Super Bowl going on. Line to order was fast but line waiting for our drinks was 45mins-1hr! After seeing that people who order way after me is getting their orders a lady who order before me asked for the staff to check on her order she got a reply right away and got her drinks right away after they missed her order. I waited for another 5mins and ask the same staff to check on my order too, she just asked for my name and never get back to me if my order is coming up or if they missed my order like how she did with a few others who asked before me. After waiting for another 10mins since asking the staff to look up my order I decided to wait back in line to get my money back. Waiting for 1hr for my coffee wasn't worth it anymore. First time there and will probably not go back. Bad service. read more

This place is kind of your average Starbucks. I stumbled on it just walking through the skyways to Macy's. It seems like it should be pretty popular given the extreme foot traffic through the area for business. I found the service quality and speed to be great, no big problems, but I didn't order a fancy drink, either. read more

Takes a thousand years for a simple coffee when you walk in most hours of the day. Not enough staff really.

This is, in my opinion, the best downtown Starbucks by far. Even when the lines are long the service is always fast, and the folks working there are always friendly. It is also the only location downtown (for some bizarre reason) that brews decaf throughout the day. I just get the sense that it's really well managed. If you plan to stay and work or meet with someone, be aware that it's really small and because of that, loud. There aren't many places to sit either. read more

Super busy due to location! Downtown employees come here a lot. And they are very fast service wise.

Such a friendly staff but they, if life depended on it, cannot get an order right. Every single time I go to this location my order is severely messed up! Again, cannot stress the fact that this staff is SO kind and accommodating but it's just so slow and incorrect. The mobile order system makes things worse as well. Ugh read more

I've worked downtown for 20 years. It's now mostly chaos. It's best to order ahead of time. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE DURING MORNING RUSH. You'll get much much much better service. It takes 15 - 20 minutes for your coffee even with a mobile order and then there is only a 50% chance they will get it right. And when you show them they made a mistake they put you at the end of the line. The coffee is good if you ever get the right one. read more
