I used the mobile order at 10:41 and waited 20 minutes (maybe 11:02) to get my drinks. It is not the first time I've had this case. I had the mobile order and organized the time to pick it up; after that, I went to work. They made for drive thru first although I paid money. The next thing, when I came there I saw my ticket on the cup, but they did not make my drink immediately, they left the cup on the side. I ordered ahead via the app. When I got to the store the girl on the speaker was so rude when asking for my name. There was not much background noise but for some reason she could not hear me. When I clarified my name is Lily for the 5-6 time she scoffed/laughed and said she thought I said "ditzy". The way she laughed sounded like she was laughing AT me. Regardless I chose not to say anything as I knew it could be a simple misunderstanding. However, when I got to the window there was no one standing there. After about 3-4 minutes a girl (unsure if it was the same girl I spoke to on the speaker) popped out from behind the wall and basically threw my cold food and beverage at me. I had no straw, no napkins. When I started to speak to ask for some, she cut me off mid sentence and literally yelled at to "have a nice day" and then disappeared into the store. And I was left alone again. As a customer service worker myself I can honestly say this is NOT customer service. I've always had a good experience at this location, but I also try to avoid the busiest times. Even though this place can be a hit or miss with how busy they can get. One minute you have an empty drive thru, the next you have five cars that just rolled in. Its just how it is as someone who used to work at a Starbucks long time ago. I always get my usual and sometimes go for the egg bites or the spinach egg wrap and the workers at the window are very courteous. This place can get busy and you could end up waiting up to a good fifteen to twenty minutes so I always advise to plan ahead of time if you have somewhere to be. Today I went and got a soy iced coffee and asked for pecan cold foam and the worker was nice to include that the foam had dairy- which was nice of her to add. On my way to work on January 12 at approximately 8:45am, I made a stop at my local Starbucks (2210 W. Southern Ave. at San Jose, Mesa, AZ.) - which, by the way is the absolute slowest service of any Starbucks I've ever been to in the country. After I made my order, and waited in line for an unnecessarily long time, I drove up to the window, offered my payment, and was 'greeted' by an extremely rude, unprofessional, insensitive, and inconsiderate employee who gave me nothing but a nasty attitude ~ Alyssa. (There is a photo of her included here for reference.) I was simply purchasing my coffee and breakfast sandwich, and have never interacted with her before. There was no reason for her to be so ugly and disrespectful towards me whatsoever. At the end of my purchase, I asked her for her name since she wasn't wearing a name tag (which I believe is required of their employees), and she said in a very snotty tone, "Why?! Who wants to know?!" and refused to give it to me. She obviously knew she was being impolite, ill-mannered, and arrogant. Shortly after leaving, I called the manager, Josh and spoke with him for a few minutes. I asked him if they are providing training for their employees, since I've experienced many interactions at this location where they never say, "please/thank you", etc. Do they not realize that they represent a company? Do they not have policies every employee is meant to follow? Is this acceptable to their corporate office? Well, I'm going to find out. I'll also be contacting Elizabeth Widmer, who is the regional manager. Perhaps she can offer this less than desirable store, with unacceptably rude employees some much needed training on manners, etiquette, and how to behave as a customer service employee. I cannot, in good consciousness recommend this Starbucks location at all. Take your business elsewhere, to a local coffee shop that has respectful and respectable employees. I ordered a caramel ribbon crunch and it was clear that the blender was not cleaned. It tasted like chocolate syrup and had small cookie crumbles inside. I am gluten free and typically I do not ask for them to clean the blender because usually this is not an issue. They also did not properly make the drink. It did not have whip cream and syrup at the bottom or all around. Basically it did not taste anything like how it was supposed to. My friend who was with me was also missing whip cream in her cup. We also asked for a pup cup for my dog and it was not given. The woman quickly closed the window and left. I would not recommend this place, it seems very ghetto and without attention to detail. I just spent 30 min with a chat rep and tried to get the transcript but it errored out. My issue is that I made it clearly known that I'm not a regular at Starbucks and I asked a bunch of questions. The cashier made it seem that the sugar free vanilla and almond milk were part of the drink options without extra charge. There was never an indication that these would be nearly $1.50 more making the drink almost $8 which is ridiculous. My wish is that you all would train your staff to be transparent with any up charges since it's also not mentioned anywhere and we can't see it on the register when they're entering in the data. This would be an ethical change to current practices, especially for non regular customers who do avoid Starbucks for the expensive cost as it is. I have ordered this drink for over 20 years even after it was removed from the visible menu for dietary reasons and since Starbucks doesn't make healthy blended drinks anymore. I also can't order this on the app since it was removed years ago which also impacts my life and travels with mg partner. So again I know I won't get my $ back and Starbucks doesn't care because it's all about profits vs people who want or need to be healthy vs ordering the drinks that are 500 calories per cup. Penalizing customers without warning with extra costs when the profit margins are already astronomical, is highly unethical. It's also unethical to not have transparent pricing practices which does involve training the staff to disclose this to the customers. Most of us aren't millionaires who don't care about these things, every penny matters and my "treat" yesterday was soured by this experience. I was encouraged to write in by the person who witnessed this experience. They even said the cashier didn't seem to be certain of the sizing and ounce options of the drinks which should be barista or Lead 101. Anyway I just hope training occurs and I just know I will never order this again since now I'm being charged excessively. A nearly $8 drink isn't worth it especially since I don't get whipped cream and I'm swapping out ingredients that already exists which I've done for over 20 years. The parking lot was full except for the spots directly behind the drive thru line making it difficult to get out. Once I got inside I was surprised to see that the narrow interior was full! People snaked around the trash can because it was so crowded. Service was nonexistent; no greetings or acknowledgment. I get it though, there were 5-6 baristas working, a long drive thru line, and a crowded inside. But hey, if you want a friendly barista go to Dutch Bros. The barista working the mobile orders seemed frazzled but she was nice. My mobile order was supposed to be ready by the time I got there (10 minutes after I placed the order) but the barista had barely started it when I asked. The service here was fast and friendly. I thought the barista who helped take my order was nice and the person who made my order was amazing as well. The inside of the store was dark. I'm pretty sure this was because a lot of light can come in through the south facing windows. I liked that they had shade screens at the windows to help block the light from coming into the store too strongly. There was a neat photo I took that had a shadow cast into the store from the writing on the outside of their windows. The sore looked clean and there wasn't a lot of people inside. It looked like one of the other patrons was a nurse from the hospital across the street. They also have a drive through. The parking lot is a bit small and the store itself is also a bit small too. This is one of the busiest Starbucks I have been too. It is right by the Children's hospital and many medical offices. The staff is very friendly unfortunately this is also one of the slowest Starbucks I've ever been too, I have popped through multiple times on my way to or from the doctors and it's the same every-time. The parking lot is small and people speed through the maze of cars in frustration. All in all I really try not to come here, but sometimes you have a hungry kid and their peanut butter and jelly sandwich is an easy fix. read more

It's very difficult to park in the parking lot. The drive thru line blocks parking and drivers won't let you pull out. I visited this location on 09/14/2023 at 8:25 a.m. Service was mediocre and the cashier was not in a friendly mood. Customer service is key at the front register. Shhhh! This brand new Starbucks is the tastiest secret since the Pink Drink! It opened back in April, but when we went NO ONE else was in line! However, I'm sure this place will get crazy busy once word gets out. The location seems super convenient for students and anyone visiting the hospital across the street. There is a drive-thru or you can go inside to get counter service and sit down. The hours are great and the friendly employees didn't roll their eyes at me when I asked for one of those "pretty drinks" from Instagram.
