It started with a single bubble tea shop in Taiwan and has expanded to over 2,100 stores across four continents. Sorry, Africa and South America.... No tea for you! They occupy a prestigious location in the center courtyard of the first floor of the Westfarms Mall. They have self service kiosks for app users, and a separate line for cash customers. Their product line is crazy deep, with eight Milk Teas, seven lattes, seven fresh brewed coffees and teas, two milk foams, eight fruit drinks, eight smoothies, and a finishing touch of six toppings. I went with a 16-ounce Strawberry Milk Tea with 30% sweetness, and yes, you can order various sugar levels. My tea was a "blend of fresh strawberry flavor with smooth green milk tea for a perfectly sweet sip". I really loved it. The strawberry flavor was very good. A layer of strawberry jam-like goodness had settled into the bottom of my glass, and that made the last few sips even better than the rest. At over $7 after tax, Gong Cha won't be a regular expense for me, but as a once in a while treat it sure delivers.

My mom got the Nutella Frostbite, an iced blended drink with Nutella, espresso, and milk. Both of our drinks were very good, but the price tag is pretty steep. It's a high-end, organic, strong coffee, definitely for a true coffee connoisseur. The Nutella Frostbite was $10 for example. It is nice to have a new cute coffee and drink option at the mall that is easy to grab while shopping. The service was very quick and friendly. Plus, there was no line for a Saturday.

I'm removing a star because the standards seem to be slipping a bit. They switched their bakery and although recently they've been experimenting with their in house baking there's a notable difference between what they outsource and what they make in house. The in house stuff is significantly better in terms of quality and freshness, and although priced high they are usually worth the price. The outsourced items don't seem as fresh and it's hard to justify the prices. The coffee is still balanced between the earthy coffee and the house made flavors for their lattes. The experience has been a bit colder as of late, which is fine if you're grabbing a cup to go, but not if you intend to write some reviews while enjoying a cup. That coupled with the multiple times there's been equipment failures which forced me to go someplace else. I honestly cannot state this is worth the trek to try only because there's a chance you can't get coffee at the cafe. I think it's time for myself to trek for another place. I was told it was a large coffee split into two. Never again will I purchase one of these duo cups. The coffee itself is very good, but the pricing should be altered a little bit. We also got mini macarrones, which I thought would be better than a tasted! They were stale!! They taste it absolutely horrible and there was no flavor. No differentiation between the chocolate, coffee, or the lemon. It all tasted by straight sugar and cardboard.
