This was my first time visiting. I work nearby and decided to stop by with some coworkers during our break. Unfortunately, the wait was much longer than expected, especially since we were limited on time. When I finally got my drink, the Horchata Frappuccino, I found it insanely sweet. The staff seemed very busy, and with the long line and limited time on my break, I didn't feel like there was an opportunity to ask for a remake. After a few sips I ended up throwing it away because I feared it might cause me a headache. It may be a good option for those who enjoy sweeter drinks, but on this visit, it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. read more

I used to order drinks and do pick up. Since is close by. However my friend needed to use the restroom Britney was being smart mouth stating we need to purchased a drink. Which we did, we received our drink, we requested water and was told to go to the register yet was being smart I needed to do this process. By then I was ok but what I lost respect the guy I didn't get his name, he was little over weight. He was touching the lid for the water with his bare hands where you put your mouth to drink and on top of that, his nails were dirty and black inside the nail. The cashiers here are always very kind here. But the barista with glasses she is rude. She literally threw the coffee sleeve at me instead of handing it properly. The other day, after dropping an absurd amount on a fresh-brewed coffee, they didn't even have half & half. The staff said they were out. Go figure. It's also tough to bring friends who are financially strapped here, since drinks cost too much and the staff will definitely expect a purchase just to hang out. I'd like to start with the service and staff. I actually choose to come to this location instead of the one closer to my home because the team here is truly outstanding. I've visited on different days and at different times, so I've had the chance to be helped by several staff members and every single one has been kind, attentive, and genuinely engaged in providing great service. ( someone even asked me if I drink coffee regularly, I said no so he suggested I to add 2 pumps of cinnamon or vanilla to this specific drink i believe it was the horchata latte . Im glad he did!) The drinks are always delicious and consistent, and I've never had to send one back. The cleanliness is also appreciated! The restroom is always well maintained. This SB may be the best in the DTLA area(it's a little outside downtown which gives it a nice neighborhood feel). The Good Samaritan Hospital is next door; so the crowd is nice and upscale(it's also built into a new condo). The staff does a great job. I also was impressed with the cleanliness and 2 bathrooms. There's some unique tables for singles and a nice enclosed patio. Highly recommended for DTLA enthusiasts and hospital visitors. read more

The girl who made my drink forgot to add the cold foam. So, I told her there was no foam. Then she grabbed my drink, looking upset, and right in front of me, she poured out half of the coffee and added the foam on top. A Caramel Macchiato is supposed to have espresso on top and milk underneath, but she dumped out all the espresso. Then she pushed the drink back to me without even apologizing, like she was throwing it at me. When I said it just tasted like milk and asked for it to be remade, she told another employee, as if I had just asked for a remake, and had them do it instead. Honestly, every time I go there, she's so rude. She's never been friendly, not even once. This Starbucks location really needs to train their staff better. Before work I go here to get some work done and beat traffic. It's a modern looking, clean, and pretty calming facility. It's quiet, has free wifi, and a marble countertop. The employees are constantly busy, and for all my orders I've gotten them pretty quickly and accurately. This is a new looking Starbucks with what I expect and just a bit more because of the aesthetics. They have a ramp for ADA access. The bathroom is clean. There is a big table for studying as well as small arm chairs around a small table. There is also a bench where people getting to-go orders sit. I love this Starbucks! For being a starbucks in the city, it's pretty good. The employees have always been friendly, nice and willing to explain any of the new drinks on the menu. I tried a new drink once and the barista even offered to make a different one or fix it for me if I didn't like it (how sweet of her to offer to make trying something new less risky!) I remember when you could read a book and have some coffee at Starbucks. The 3 people working there turned up the music like if it was a club. I asked them if they could please turn it down and they looked at me like they've never seen people read a book before. Being that most Starbucks employees go to school that they would understand what reasonably loud music is. However, they did not care. I returned the coffee that I barely got to enjoy, which by the way I've been drinking caramel macchiato's on ice since 2003 and that is not how you make that. Practice your drinks because they suck. I would rate your macchiato a 5 for horrible. The female cashier on Sunday could learn how to smile once in a while or try having personality. She basically rushes you with your order like it bothers her to be there LOL. Keep your incorrectly made drink and clearly they just have no common sense. Also they don't even bother calling out your name anymore and your coffee will sit there. read more

I used to think it was excessive that I had two Starbucks less than a block away from my apartment but after visiting this one on sixth that's slightly further away from me than the one on Wilshire and Bixel I will have to say I think this one is far superior and will be my new go to spot. Not only is this location a whole lot cleaner, this one way more spacious - plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. It feels a lot nicer than your typical Starbucks and almost as fancy as one of the Starbucks reserves. Customer service is super on point as well. I came in pretty groggily and under the weather but both the guy who took my order and barista just really put a smile on my face. Will definitely be back!! read more
