The ingredients are high quality, and the flavours are thoughtfully developed. Pink lemonades are often too sweet, but this one was perfectly balanced. The lemon square was nicely tart, the quiche had generous chunks of feta, and the muffin had that rich, buttery flavour you only get from homemade baked goods. Service was bubbly and helpful, and the interior was quaint. There's just enough seating outside, with a setup that lets you choose between sun or shade. Special mention for offering the London Fog iced; my first time trying it, and it is now my new go-to. Prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the quality. Easily the best coffee shop I've tried in London so far.

On top of that, requesting light milk doesn't seem to resonate with the server or change the outcome of the drink. We like the outside patio but it's usually just pestering with bees bc of their open lid garbage can sitting directly in the middle of the patio. So although I want to give this place a good review and rating, it seems quite difficult to do so. P.S. why do they serve jamaican patties?

During our holiday visit to London, our family recommended the Happiness Café. So one rainy…read moreafternoon we parked across the street hopped over some road construction and blew thru the doors. The first impression of décor and display, it is clean, intentional, thoughtful and cozy. We perused the menu and I decided on the fig and cheese croissant, accompanied by an espresso martini. We found our seats at a table and I could not take my eyes off the artistic desserts on display. One in particular was a tree ornament, made of cake, it was shiny and beautiful, almost too pretty too eat. Almost. My only regret is that I didn't enjoy one, but I was too full after lunch. Our meals were delivered to our table and even though I wasn't very hungry when we arrived, the look and smell of the food fueled my appetite. My croissant creation was filled with fresh ingredients and the decadent combination of savory and sweet hit the spot. The espresso martini was wonderful, even my picky husband liked it. To our delight, we had the opportunity to meet the owners, a husband and wife team. Both very stylish, with warm smiles and welcoming conversation. The wife is the pastry chef, I had to wonder if she ever had time to sleep considering the array of beautiful desserts on display and what it must take to perfect them, individually. We look forward to returning on our next visit to London hopefully during the warmer months to enjoy their patio, and THIS time, dessert first! And maybe second! Now that we are back home in Los Angeles, I find myself wishing we had a Happiness Café. I was in Beverly Hills yesterday at the Rodeo Collection and I visited a café with hopes that it might compare, but it was missing the warmth and artistry of Happiness Café.

Their coffee is either exceptional or "alright" but the best reason to go here is their actual food and pastries. I feel like it is RARE to find a coffee shop that offers pastries that ALL taste amazing, and this place seems to nail it. During peak times, it may be difficult to find a seat but they do open up fairly quickly. The service here is amazing, they're super attentive and nice which is a big plus. In terms of their food, their cruffins are TO DIE FOR - I absolutely love them to death. They rotate their flavours and every single one I've had has been phenomenal. Admittedly, difficult to eat which the sugar coating on the croissant mixed with the custard inside but still so so good that it's worth the mess. I do wish it was served warmed which would take it to the next level! The sandwiches are surprisingly good as well. My favourite is the ham and Swiss. It is very filling and I love how much they pack into the sandwich (especially how much Dijon they put in it hehe). In terms of the coffee, it was decent. I was expecting more bold flavours to come out and taste the richness but unfortunately I could not. Maybe I had too high of expectations for the coffee after tasting the pastries and food but regardless, it was still decent coffee. Overall though, this place is an amazing place to sit down, eat, read, study, and catch up with friends! I definitely will be coming back and trying more of their items :)

So when the logical next step happened - a cafe/lounge opening and named after that steel moniker - there was no question that I had to check it out. I'm just kicking myself for taking so effing long!! One word: cronuts. This crazy combo was only a mere puzzlement until today. I saw cronut bites in the display and ordered a Skor chocolate and orange chocolate duo. Humina! Melt in your mouth fluffy yet dense ooey gooey goodness! Unreal. I loved the orange one so much I bought two more for later. If you scan their FB on Thursdays you will see their weekly creations, which are full sized and I'm sure very delightful. My mom and I shared the daily specials of beef barley soup and a grilled cheese made with bacon, pepperjack cheese and balsamic mushrooms. The soup was incredible! So much beef and chunky veg and flavour. Very hearty. I was a little unsure of the grilled cheese because balsamic and I don't get along but the combo was very delicious. I ordered an iced tea made with earl grey and had to sweeten myself (totally fine) but that's a new concept to me. It was good but I probably wouldn't get it again. I should've ordered a hot beverage but after a spell in the toasty room holding the bazaar I needed to cool down. Their drink menu is pretty extensive, booze included. And yes the lounge portion of the name comes later in the evening and it's a very cool space for that sort of thing. I will have to make a point to travel to the Rhino again soon.
