When I drove into the parking lot it didn't look like much. I ordered the fish and grits. The food was amazing. Only thing missing was my mama biscuits. The service was amazing. The atmosphere was great. It was not a very big place but it kind of reminded me of the restaurants of the 50's and 60's maybe even earlier. It was giving old fashioned dining at the local mom and pop restaurant. When I'm in the area again I will definitely go back for that fish and grits. I also bought a T-shirt as a souvenir. I met some travelers there from Mississippi. They gave me some great ideas on seeing a local play and some of their adventures. I gave them some tips on Chicago site seeing and food. It was a good time to be had!

Said it again; still no reply. However, a lady who ordered her drink after me got hers before me; mind you, she came in AFTER us! I tried a third time to get the lady's attention; nothing. Finally, after about 5 minutes, I got my drink. I don't think that was very fair, but whatever. What is WRONG with people these days?

No way they were making it to 2 AM, so good for them! We grabbed a dozen assorted donuts for $30.23. The donuts themselves were light, fluffy, and definitely better than your average donut shop, no complaints there at all. You can tell they're made fresh and with care. That said, the toppings were a bit too sweet for me and my kids. Unfortunately, they only made it about halfway through their chosen donut before they were done, which never happens in this house. We have a little Saturday morning tradition where my husband picks up donuts before the kids wake up, and while we would love to have a go to spot closer to home like this, the price point just felt a little high for what we got compared to our regular spot. Overall, really great quality donuts, just a bit too sweet (and pricey) for our family to make it a regular stop.

She was also our waitress as well. We got there 11:27 and was seated right away. We waited literally 2 hours and the food was nasty. Very bland, and upsetting to say the least. Their waffles are not Belgian waffles so be aware! You can do half and half waffles but they charge $3 additional. They advertise chicken and waffles however, it's not on the menu. You have to create it. Our $17 meal turned into $36 a piece because of it. This would not be an issue if the food was good but it was nasty. We tried the peach mango mimosas and they were watered down and served in diner style cups - which were dirty! How gross! And the silverware were dirty also so we opted for plastics. The floor had me sliding around from water or sweat because that's another thing - it was extremely hot in there! Also, they only have one bathroom so keep that in mind. I'm just disappointed.
