In long I dig the little complex of businesses around here--the buildings have some character, and there are lots of places doing interesting things. And this market (next door) has been here for decades, if I'm thinking of the right place. Anyway B&B has a small unit. One table, a highboy, a couple of window counters. It's easy to imagine a place this good getting 5x as much seating and just being mobbed all day, but pretty much everything here is to-go. More on that in a minute. They do have a pretty full lineup of coffee drinks with some interesting options. I got the drip coffee and had it black, which is just how I typically take it everywhere, every day. It was a nice cup but a pretty dark roast. I talked to a local about it shortly after and she said she had been in for the sandwiches many times but never for coffee. Not that the coffee is bad by any means, but the sandwiches REALLY shine here. Everything is served on a scratch-made biscuit. You choose which flavor. Today they had buttermilk and cheddar-onion. I went with cheddar onion. They have tons of stuff you can add, and they have at least half a dozen different basic versions you order. I was expecting a plate and utensils, but I didn't bother to confirm beforehand. So I ordered the mushroom-leek gravy. I got everything packed up to go, but I don't live around here, so I was pretty stuck with the gravy. Ya live, ya learn, I heard. It tasted incredible, though, even if I used it only to liven up the last few crumbs of biscuit. Those biscuits, though! Flaky, tender crumb, not much crust, just some browned edge. Great fillings for the sandwich. Those biscuits are damn near homemade. We got a bag of mini ones to bring home, along with a pat of apple butter. I kinda wanna work my way though their menu. This place has a ton of heart and soul to it.

Wandered the entire length of the retail shop...well appointed seating, some new but mostly used book titles, counter to order menu items, a pocket bar, nooks for seating, try out a manual typewriter, make buttons, or play the piano. Did not buy anything, but thumbed through a French Canadian dictionary from 1958, and enjoyed the fascinating vibe while onsite.

The interior is very cute and and I often see people studying and working here as they have comfortable chairs, wifi, and good food to go along with their drinks. They offer a good variety of drinks and none of them have ever let me down. My absolute favorite drink to get there is the Cafe All Black which is such a deep and rich chocolatey coffee drink. I am a sweet drinks person and this one is amazing. They also have super cute cups if you are dinning in and overall great vibes. The service here is so great. It is family owned and run and your drink is brought straight to where you are sitting so there is no need to stand and wait or be alert for your name. Stop by if possible and I would say it is also worth the drive too if it isn't a stop!

Upon entry, one sees the pastry case filled with fresh baked items, including items that are noted as gluten free. I glanced and didn't see anything savory for breakfast during this visit, but selected a giant cherry danish for The Homie. When I arrived at home, I measured the widest diameter, it was seven inches across, which was pretty impressive. There are also spigots for self serve ice cream and frozen yogurt against one wall. There is quite the vast assortment of toppings to customize your frozen treat. I'm sure this place is very crowded during warmer months. I also got a 16oz mocha, no whip, to go. The stars of the party were the rich, custom-made German chocolate cupcakes. These were a special request, the favorite of the birthday celebrant. The second, vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream that were artfully frosted to resemble sunflowers, which added such an imaginative and charming touch to the celebration.
