On the way to the beach had to get my coffee fix for the day. Passed through the drive thru and ordered the usual - iced white chocolate mocha. The staff were fast and not that I tried to have a conversation with them they were friendly. So on my quest to go to as many SB as I can this one is checked off the list and I'll return next time I'm heading down the Keys. read more

Driving to Key West from Miami on May 8th, we had planned a stop at this Starbucks for refreshment. The website said that they were open until 8:00 p.m. we arrived at around 6:50 to find that the drive through was closed with a caution cone. We parked and attempted to go in to the store but the door was locked. I knocked on the door and could plainly see several associates behind the counter but none would acknowledge me and were even laughing at me. I doubt that the folks at Headquarters would be happy to hear how badly mismanaged this outlet is but they will be hearing from me. There are other Starbuck's on the route so will forever avoid this one. read more

Not overly friendly Starbucks. Of course nothing compares to my Starbucks at home. Coffee was good and it's consistent which is important. Glad that the blonde roast for the hubs was actually brewed this time instead of only being available as a pour over. Way too many grinds left behind in the pour over. Overall a good experience. Only Starbucks close by. My salted Carmel white mocha was perfect. Happy with that. We will go back. Cuz it's Starbucks 3 stars because no one smiled and even seemed happy to help or be there. I ended up getting one of your over priced venti iced green teas for my caffeine fix, but lets not ignore the REAL REASON WE STOPPED HERE and so do a majority of the people at this location, YOUR BATHROOM, which was actually quite nice, 5 stars. Great place to stop at if you are driving around the Florida Keys and need to use some free wifi or a restroom along the highway without feeling awkward. Sufficient amount of tables for you to prop up a mobile office both inside and outside and ease back into reality as you shortly exit your island vacation and enter the mainland of vacation-overdom. Service was a bit slower than most locations but this location is on a popular vacationing island where I guess the employees are reminding you to just take a chill pill too, its just caffeine, ease up. read more

Conveniently located right next to the highway, and with a drive-through to boot. Unfortunately, location is about all that's helping this Starbucks. While the staff were amiable enough, they gave off the feeling of being overworked and disorganized. They were constantly sliding by the long and slow-moving queue to move items, restock, etc. Definitely waited at least 30 min just to order an iced coffee and Frappucino, even though it was a Monday afternoon. Starbucks...a typical chain everywhere...little gem in Key Largo. Mind you, I used to live in the western suburbs of Chicago, where Starbucks grew through cement and farms, just about every 5 miles or so. This is not the case when you move to the Florida keys. And let me tell you, on the trip north and south on Hwy.1, this Starbucks is a little gem. Plentiful parking, but kind of a pain to stop at coming from the Keys (just use lights and the U-Turn lane). The staff is pretty cool, there's plenty of seating inside and out, the staff is pretty awesome, the bathrooms are clean and the selection is what you'd expect from a well-stocked Starbucks. The important thing to note: This Starbucks location DOES take your Starbucks Reward Card. The other two locations in Key West ( at the Crowne Plaza and Courtyard) are run by the hotels and do not take the card. I stop here about once a week leaving the keys from work. The inside is nice but the drive-through orders are horrendous, I feel like they haven't gotten my order right in months. Whether it's forgetting sugar, Splenda adding too much cream or never adding cream. I order a splash of heavy whipping cream in my iced coffee every single time yet I receive what looks like a cup of milk. I honestly don't think they know what heavy whipping cream is they interpret it as "heavy "cream as in "a lot ". Very cute spot near the hotel we're staying at. I love that it has a drive-thru, not many at home (Miami) do- which I find to be inconvenient at times. The cashier was very friendly. We finally had to stop going to this Starbucks location. The final straw was ordering a Caramel Macchiato in the drive thru and having to return it because it was awful. Upon returning and going inside, the barista stated they were out of caramel syrup and therefore none was added. How do you omit the caramel from a caramel macchiato and not say anything to the customer. There is no consistency in the coffee making at this location. Getting a good cup of coffee is the luck of the draw. As much as Starbucks charges for their drinks, the baristas could at least follow the recipe and measure out the ingredients. I've only visited two starbucks chains in The Florida Keys, The IslaMorada Branch which absolutely sucked and the one in Key Largo which is AMAAAAZING! I went there for a morning coffee before hitting the road to head back home in North Florida and went through the drive threw and I was given prompt services and the lady at the window was lovely. The staff was cheerful and all smiles despite the early hour and efficient, the establishment clean both outside and inside, easy to get in and out of, and my drink was the perfect consistency and made to order: Venti Coffee Frappuccino with 1 pump of Toffee Nut syrup and no whip cream. If you are in the Keys and want a coffee before heading out just wait till you get to Key Largo before you get your Starbucks, skip IslaMorada - they are rude and can't get anything right, and the next Starbucks isn't until you get into Homestead and I can't speak about them because I've not visited them but they seem hard to get in and out of at a glance. read more

When I got to my destination in Marathon, I took it out of starbucks bag and noticed I didn't get 1/2 my bag of coffee. I get coffee ground all the time. So I called and told her what happened and she said bring it in and we'll replace it. I said I am in Marathon. (Quite a drive-traffic wise) she said go to nearest one and they will replace it. I said where is that? She said I don't know. Not helpful at all. So next day I went to Islamorada to a Starbucks and they aren't technically a Starbucks store, but they took care of me. No coupon and no treat or free coffee available on my Starbucks Steel card. For those of you wondering about the "extra-fat," that means breve' or heavy cream. A drive-thru location with free Wi-Fi. Coffee was made exactly to specification and service was friendly and good. Ok look. I love a local coffee joint just as much as the next aging gen-xer, BUT I also love Starbucks. Judge me, I don't care. Sometimes you just need the safety of a chain to reset a bad day alright? So here we are, taking that god-awful drive back from Key West (I swear time actually goes in reverse at some point around Islamorada) and I NEEDED a fix. Like manna from heaven, Starbucks appears in Key Largo. Rejoice. But honest to god, this might have been the worst starbucks I've ever been to. The cashier called out my order wrong twice. Got cranky when I politely tried to correct the order, shorted me one pastry, and again got snippy when I asked for my missing danish, and then after all of that, the barrista made my drink in the wrong size. I usually would give this starbucks 5 stars, and am sure I will again, but it is frustrating that for more than a week the online ordering has been "unavailable", and even more frustrating when you see it advertised all over their store windows while you sit in a very long line of cars. This Starbucks is below standards. I bought a coffee Americano in the medium size and when it was given to me through the drive-through I realized it was extremely hot hotter than any cup of coffee I have ever received from any other Starbucks and I get Starbucks at least five times a week. I gave the coffee back asked them to pour off A portion of it and top it off with cold creamer. The coffee cup was already hot so I could not determine if the creamer had been added to it I took it I placed it in my car in a holder and proceeded to my destination. When I arrived I picked up a cup of coffee which promptly exploded all over me I got some minor burns on my hands and on my leg and that was at 3:15 at 3:45 when I returned it to this location the coffee was still hot!!. I spoke with the manager and she's like oh well I will refund you your coffee and that was about it! If anyone is buying coffee from this location be extra extra careful their coffee is being served at the above the maximum temperature which is 200°! Felt compelled to review as I am a longtime Starbucks Gold Member. The current 4-Star rating does not accurately reflect my experience. Several of the "tips" are similar to what I experienced, because those reviews are short, they were posted as tips and not reviews as the Yelpers may have intended. Here is my drive-thru experience summed up; Slow, not friendly and out of many items. Also, slow. Plus they are slow and unfriendly. It's hard to screw up the standardized drinks and pre-packaged food items so they get 2 Stars vs. 1 Star but this location is a joke. They need to redo/brush up on their Starbuck's "passport" new hire training. read more
