Normally I don't have a problem at this location but today is not good! As I walk in, I can see the partners are not smiling and are not in a good mood. It becomes apparent that the person in charge (shift sup Jamie) is the one causing the distress. She obviously cannot handle the stress of what she's doing and is making everyone else feel it. Twice in my short visit she's redirected her partners in not a wonderful way and loud enough for the customers to hear and has been calling out drinks so fast that customers are questioning what she said and what drink is theirs. No smiling and no eye contact. Also, a customer tells her "have a good day!" And she replies with "I'll try". This was not a good customer experience! Someone needs to teach her a better way to communicate with others! read more

This is the first Maui location for the Seattle based Coffee house. Opened in the mid-90's, and one of Maui Marketplace's original tenants, it is one if not the busiest Starbucks on the island. Like all other Starbucks, they offer their standard menu items along seasonal offerings. I usually get one of their refreshers, the Strawberry Acai which is light and refreshing. Wish they still carried the Valencia Orange which was my FAVORITE! The store space is cozy, with inside seating areas as well as table and chairs outside. This Starbucks probably has the most seating out of all the stores on Maui, and they always seen to be occupied by patrons. The staff that works there are nice, friendly and usually quick in fulfilling orders, although on it may be slow on very busy mornings. The one thing that I like about this place is that you are able to pre-order your drink on the Starbucks app (only at Company owned stores) and have it waiting for you when you get there! read more

If I can avoid it, I will never go to this Starbucks again...and given that I have moved from Maui, that should be pretty easy. I have visited this particular Starbucks twice. The first time the service was mediocre at best: the barrista acted as if my business meant nothing. She didn't smile or respond to my attempts at small talk (given because the store was really slow). The second time was the kicker. My best friend, my husband, and I went in. We all ordered coffee. I ordered food as well. My best friend got her coffee. My husband got his. I waited...and waited...and waited. After 20 minutes, my husband asked what was going on. He was assured my order would be up soon. After another 10 minutes, he asked again. He was then asked what my order was. All said and told, it took nearly 45 minutes for me to get my order. And then all we were given was a voucher for one free drink?!?!?! I could have finished my order 3 times over in the time I had to wait! I will never go to the Starbucks on Dairy Rd again, and I strongly suggest others don't either. read more

I stopped going to Starbucks for a while because I had a coffee machine that I had to put to use. But, I started going again recently to do a coffee run for my boss & would offer to buy me one too. Free coffee? Why not? Lol. Anyway, every experience I've had at this location was always a good one. Katie is always a sweetheart. She always has a smile on her face & always greets you, whether it's a "good morning" or "have a great day." Any drink that I have purchased has always been made perfectly! I often frequent Starbucks when I'm away from home, mostly just for the internet an' a cheap drink to hang. But it's always interesting to see the differences in atmosphere, buildings, people, and customer service/workers. All in all my experience with this one was very positive. Very nice mellow vibe on the sunday I came and such a large place. (As another patron said the bathroom is less than desirable, but hey it's a bathroom. And at least they have one they let you use! Without a doubt, this Starbucks exemplifies the Aloha spirit more than any other Starbucks on Maui. From high school and college students diligently studying at night, to local business people with their busy lives coming and going, to the Kupuna who gather here daily, this Starbucks represents Maui in so many ways. Tourists feel welcomed, locals gather frequently, many new friends are introduced at this Starbucks. It is an amazing place. It is very clean, the staff so friendly, visit once or twice, they know your name, something I find most impressive! The lemon cake just tastes better here, don't know why, it just does. Most of the time I have a good experience here, but sometimes they rush you through ordering (rude) and forget to add certain things to your drink when you ordered them (rip off). It's not the business though that makes that experience bad, it's the employees. When they DO get my drink right, I always enjoy it. One of the many Starbucks located in Central Maui. Located at the Maui Marketplace. Probably the largest in seating. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is fronted by Dairy Rd. One of the busiest roads on Maui. If sit here long enough, I think the whole island will pass by you. The service is good. They get drinks and food to you promptly and with a smile. They have free Wifi. If you need to kill some time before your flight, you can have some coffee and surf the net. The location is very close the Kahului Airport. The place is always busy. Almost as busy as the Kaahumanu location. read more

Early morning and it's raining. I just flew in from Honolulu and drove straight to Starbucks Dairy Road, Maui around 6:35 . No one in line so I walked up and was greeted by a young girl who took my order of a grande Americano. She asked my name and forwarded the order to the female barista. I waited and watched my order being made and noted that the female barista was constantly talking to another female employee. She finished the order and as she handed me my drink, I asked her for a "stopper". She did not give me any eye contact as she again was talking to the other employee. I asked again and she ignored me and walked away into the employee room while still talking to the employee. I walked over to the cashier and asked for the stopper to which she stopped what she was doing and gave me one. Poor customer service from the barista. After I left, driving to Kihei, I started to drink my coffee. It was warm. Needless to say, started off my day badly. read more

all I can say is that so far every location has their own way, their own way of service, product ,attitude...go to one location and they introduce to you an awsome drink, the next day you go to a different location and order that new drink and they look at you like you in the wrong place. ...but it's starbucks...if your a gold member then your still gonna go to Starbucks. read more
