With nearly 300 reviews of Starbucks, you'd think I was a fan. I am not. I find their coffee to be overcooked and burned. But when they're the only option for coffee early in the morning, you take it. This Starbucks opens at 4:30am and when I arrived just before 6am, they were open and serving up caffeine. The store worked as my first "office" for the day and I spent about an hour here, charging electronics, writing Yelp reviews, and waking up with a Tall Blonde with a splash of heavy cream. At 7am, a local coffee shop had opened and that is my preference. The store is clean, it's tidy, there is a steady flow of customers. One thing I will look out for is people who get their order and then return to the store to complain about something wrong. I did not see that today at all. In an hour, probably 40 or so customers at the register or through the drive through and there were no raised voices or complaints. Came here to get something hot to drink, couldn't quite make my mind up on what I wanted. It was lots of new holiday feature drinks on the menu. I went with the mocha peppermint, hot chocolate minus the chocolate chips on the whipped cream. So far so good , I highly recommend, especially if you like hot chocolate or peppermint . I'll definitely be back to try the other new menu options. read more

Good coffee and staff. Horrendous parking lot. Very relaxing if you plan to stop in and stay awhile. I like to go in and study. The store is clean and the staff is friendly and will sometimes bring your coffee out to you. I think that's really nice. The structure of the drive through is awkward, tight and slow. Trying to get in and out of the parking lot is very difficult as it's a high traffic area on both sides. My biggest gripe is that the layout of the parking lot is probably the worst of any business in the area. If you want to go in and sit down and enjoy your coffee for a while, I think this is a good location. If you're wanting to grab a quick coffee through either the drive-through or order ahead for pick up, this is probably not an ideal location and you would be better off going somewhere else. read more

When you don't like coffee but love ice tea, come here! Their passion tango ice tea is so good. I usually get 1 shot of raspberry flavoring in it because I don't like adding too much sugar but it gives it a nice flavor. If I have to pick something for the colder seasons I prefer a Soy White Hot Chocolate and Starbucks makes it better than Caribou in my opinion. So I would get that here as well. However a chain is a chain, so this was was nice because the service was great, but other than that, nothing else is really different about each location. Had a appointment in Independence and got dropped off. I was early so I walked over to get a coffee. Surprised that the store is closed and only open for drive thru! It's November 2021- Covid can not be a reason to close the store to walk-in traffic. Since I was dropped off I can't go to the drive thru. May seem petty to be so pissed off about a cup of coffee but it's 9:41 am and I'd really like one. There was a small sign that said "temporarily closed" on the door and about 10 cars in the drive thru. Really want a coffee, can I walk up to the drive thru? Wish me luck. Watched the barista stick her fingers in multiple cups without gloves or washing hands. That's cross contamination on a huge scale since they were busy. There's no reason she couldn't have only touched the exterior of the cups to make drinks. Won't be coming back. read more

Nice spot to grab some good coffee and a snack. Came here around noon,wasnt too busy and the lunch crowd left already. They have a drive thru and a large open dining area with wi-fi. Ordered my food and it came up ready to go in under 4 minutes. Food was fresh and hot. The nice young lady who took my order was courteous and very friendly. I will be back soon read more

I use to be a regular customer at Starbucks and enjoyed their coffee. They still put out decent product, but with new roasteries in the area I began visiting many other coffee shops. After enjoying places like The Roasterie, City Market, Black Dog and Quey I stopped in again at Starbucks. After being away for a while I realized the coffee is just not as good as the others. I'm a black coffee person. My favorite is a good pour over coffee. Starbucks has a name, but in reality their coffee is just not as good. I'll choose many other places over Starbucks. read more

The coffee addict at a Starbucks?! Troublesome, I know. My room mate is working on a group project, and I decided to come with him in order to knock out some more Yelp reviews. At the risk of getting in trouble for indulging in the free wi-fi, I went up to the counter and ordered a small Cafe Au Lait. They didn't ask me what kind of coffee or milk I wanted, so I'm not 100% guaranteed on what I'm drinking. No amount of milk or sugar can mask the taste of a Starbucks coffee, but at least the guys behind the counter were nice and this location doesn't have the typical smell of burnt coffee lingering in every corner. Gotta give this place a 4....mainly because they are faster than the one I visit frequently in kc. The employees act like they genuinely care and are there immediately with a pleasant greeting when you walk in This location is a little crammed and frankly not a real good location because of how small the parking lot is, I would dare say 75% of their business is drive thru to avoid having to park, Lord knows it isn't because they don't want to wait. ..because as an out of town individual you have to be patient and learn to wait because it takes quite a bit of time to go 3 miles in Lincoln When I do come to town this is the Starbucks that I visit every time, the coffee was fresh, attitudes great and very clean and well organized read more

This was my go-to Starbucks due to the on 40 hwy being absolutely horrid (slow,rude,& coffee ALWAYS tasting sub-par) but the last 4 times I have noticed it is quickly becoming just as bad as the others. For some reason service is painfully slow. I know it takes time to make drinks but sitting in the drive thru line for 20 after ordering?? And don't try to slide in the store to avoid the wait ,even if it is completely empty, you will just succeed in making yourself angrier. read more

I really like this location, I just wish it were more easily accessible. The line always goes quick, doesn't matter if you go inside or go through the drive thru. If you have a choice which location to visit in Independence, this one is top notch! Friendly, helpful baristas with awesome attitudes. It can be a little hectic turning left out of the location, but service is night and day compared to their other location in town. The drive-thru is a plus as well! read more

This is my go-to Starbucks. The drive-thru is usually fast and the one time I had to wait longer than normal I got my drink for free. The people that work there are very friendly. I usually use the drive-thru but when I have the time I park myself in one of their comfy chairs with a book & a chocolate chip cookie. They have a variety of seating arrangements including a large community table. Artwork from the local schools are usually displayed on the walls giving the place a nice community feel. read more

This is the only Starbucks near me, so I don't have much to compare it to. They are pretty quick at making drinks, the staff is usually friendly and won't try and up sell your order. Normally I hate using drive throughs in general (nothing kills my self-esteem faster), but my sister insisted because she was moving and had stuff in the car that she couldn't leave unttended. I honestly expected that we would be waiting forever, and that we'd be holding up the line, but holy cow do they work quickly, and since the weather was really nice, I got a drink too. I don't usually like coffee, but the hazelnut frappuchinos are the bomb and I even ended up drinking half of my sister's because it was so good. I've also been inside this location before (admittedly it's been a long time) and service has been quick and friendly every time I visit. I'm not one of those people who swears by Starbucks and insists on getting their coffee every day. I don't come here every week or even every month. But on those days when I do come here, I know that friendly people will prepare me something tasty and serve it to me quickly. Not bad at all. read more
