This was a lovely afternoon treat to discover near Vivilore where we had lunch. It's in an older business plaza near a busy intersection and from the outside looks somewhat unassuming. However, what a nice opportunity for game players in the area or perhaps coworking. Lots of seating and the music was frank sinatra, very lovely! They also seem to host a lot of larger game nights and such and have rental space available. Service: the folks working here were so kind and friendly, the iced lattes were made well Games and coffee drinks: My friend and I got some iced lattes and enjoyed the well appointed game selections and couch seating. Super comfy. Environment: I will say there was a musty smell that triggered mine and my friends allergies after being there under an hour and I started to get a headache as we left. What a great space! I came here on a date because I love coffee and they indulged my whims. I'm so glad I did as this place is great. One of the few places in Independence opened on a Sunday afternoon. I had the Salted Caramel Almond and they had a blended Carmel Apple Brown Butter with Oat milk. I've been here a couple of times now but I'm reviewing based on this experience. I contacted their page via Facebook about making a reservation for a part of the space. Paige answered me almost right away was very helpful to not only help me reserve the space where the couches are, but add chairs as needed and be accommodating. My visit was on a Saturday morning. At that time they were not busy, which made our coffee quite peaceful to hold conversation. They were able to work with me on food modifications, and I ended up having a lettuce wrapped burger, as well as some delicious coffee drinks. I ordered some seasonal specialties they had and was not disappointed. The service was very nice, and they brought your food and drinks out to you. The space itself is very fun. It's a lively open colorful atmosphere with cute signs and is well decorated. It would be a very nice place for conversation, reading a book, or working. They also have a game room with a pool table and board games to choose from for some game time. They have an events calendar too! I would highly recommend this place as I feel like it's friendly for individuals and families alike. It will be in rotation of places I visit going forward. read more

If you're looking for a chill place to get coffee, tasty food and play games with friends, you gotta check out Nirvana! I stopped in for my first time yesterday, needing to work on some stuff. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted. I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it was which was awesome - so you have lots of seating choices. I ended up ordering a mango peach smoothie which was created by one of the owners. SUPER friendly staff that makes you feel welcome the whole time. I didn't order any other food but I saw the dishes they were bringing to other customers and they looked delicious!! I'm for sure coming back to try out more of their menu! Overall the place was very well kept, clean with a super outstanding staff. Many of the other customers there were playing games so it seems like it's pretty common gaming spot for people to hangout with friends. I plan to come back many times when either I need to work again or want to bring my friends and play a board game. Definitely a hidden gem! I will be a returning customer! read more

Nirvana Coffee Bar and Game Lounge is In Bloom with both definitions - a place to enjoy a coffee beverage, grab a snack, get a massage, play video games, enjoy billiards, air hockey or jenga, check-out or purchase local art or just sit in a comfy chair and chill. A perfect place to release your Teen Spirit or just Unplug. I was greeted by a friendly female barista - but this is not About a Girl; it's about the fantastic Nirvana Signature drink she made me. I asked for mine large and blended - espresso, white chocolate and coconut flavorings. So delish that I thought I was gonna have an Aneurysm! There's definitely Something in The Way that the space is laid out and decorated that that provides a welcoming and fun space for all ages. They are also doing an open mic night. This enterprise should be successful since nothing quite like this is anywhere near this area. Nevermind my thoughts, go check out Nirvana ASAP. You can Come As You Are, so don't delay. Went with my sister to catch up and overall had a good experience. Service was very quick and friendly, we both got iced chai lattes which were good but nothing earth-shattering. The small drink plus tip was a little under $6. The place has a slight musk and didn't look dirty but sitting on the sofas and taking a trip to the bathroom did make me question the cleanliness slightly. My biggest complaint: we sat and talked for about 1.5 hours and the SAME THREE SONGS played on repeat the entire time. One of them was an extremely crude rap song (no judgement, but made talking difficult with f bombs constantly dropping). The game room had a card table, gaming systems, and pool table all available with any purchase or you could just pay to play. You can also rent out the space for $100 which could be a fun bday or grad party spot. Would come back but not until those songs are out of my head. read more

I stopped in for a chai latte and was not disappointed. My latte was served to me with very little wait time. I noticed all the prices were very reasonable. I also liked that they had lunch specials, however I did not try those (but they sounded very good. After I had my drink in hand, I walked around this establishment. They have quite a few things to do, such as a pool table, many games, and a television with quite a few movies available. They also have a massage chair with options available. this place is absolutely incredible. they have live shows, good coffee, tea, and food? i'd say that already gives them points, but what really warms my heart is the employees. they're so kind and they make the community in the place so much better. and the adorable interior of nirvana makes the experience very calm and peaceful. it's perfect for doing art or just hanging out ! i love this place and this'll be my #1 hang out spot always. read more
