I wanted to try this coffee shop out after seeing a reel on Instagram showing that it had a play area for kids. I really liked the interior of the cafe. It has a homey atmosphere with a wide variety of comfortable seating and a very cute kids play area. My husband had a white mocha and a donut and I tried their seasonal pumpkin spice latte. The coffee and donut were great. I had asked about ordering a 16 ounce (my typical size I prefer) but the barista said they only have 12 ounce sizes. I was a bit surprised and disappointed about that. The only negative was the barista was not very friendly and cold acting. I noticed that if she saw regulars she was generally friendly but to people that may be new to the cafe she acted the same towards them. This was a disappointment since customer service is a huge part of ambience and whether people plan on returning.

Got the great pumpkin specialty drink and it was very good. Also got the smashed apple sandwich which was delicious. Unfortunately it took about 30 minutes to get our food and drinks. It was a very nice spot to hang out and I would come back again. They need to hire an extra person to help out front. Staff was very nice.

PH is such an important place in the Northeast. the people there are passionate about the community, the coffee is made with care, and the new brunch menu punches way above its weight. lucky to have this as a neighborhood spot and can't recommend it enough. also, love the glass jar program!

Overall I really like PH Coffee I've gotten coffee here a couple of times this one was my favorite I just wish it was a little sweeter. The environment is cozy inside and outside, and they have different local items for sell, like candles and wine. Just a heads up if you don't drink you coffee inside now in order to get coffee you have to pay for their glass, holder and lid (although the holder and lid is optional. If you return it you get your money back. So like the minimizing waste idea I just wasn't prepared for it so now I know to being my own cup.

So I'm kind of obsessed with how cool this place is. PH has been on my radar for years, and it's a bit out of the way for me, but now I'm going to be coming here as often as I can when around this part of town. First of all, it's kind of off the beaten path, even for this neighborhood, but that's not a bad thing - it's kind of great because it lends itself to even more of a charming neighborhood hang. When you walk in, it's bigger than expected, and just exudes warmth and charm. The baristas are over the top kind, which is so wonderful in a coffee shop. I asked them a ton of questions about the seasonal drinks and ended up getting a chai-cider - a chaider. It was SO GOOD. Like, I don't often get non coffee drinks at coffee shops but I've been thinking about this one for a solid month now. Overall, I'll come back here sometime to work, or just grab an afternoon pick me up. I promise if you haven't been yet that it's worth the journey.

Oh my gosh this coffee shop! I drove pretty far out just to check out a coffee shop with a play room and it did not disappoint! I had a delicious pumpkin coffee and drank it in peace while my kids played in the play room. It makes me want to move to this neighborhood haha. They have events and is super family friendly. I'll be back for sure- even driving the half an hour each way.

Came here the other day and again enjoyed a good coffee inside this very cozy coffee shop. There is a lot of road construction in the general area, so it is hard for those of us who live a bit aways to get here. It is totally worth it however. This is the best coffee shop in the Pendleton Heights area. Their baked goods are delicious. I had enjoyed a caramel oatmeal cookie that was freshly baked. The best thing I ordered was a gooey cheese melt with apple butter ---what a delicious concept!

Vegan breakfast burrito with cute little Cholula packets

PH coffee has been on the list for a while and finally stopped by few weekends ago. Turns out they have a vegan breakfast burrito?! There were actually a few vegan options but I didn't take a picture of the menu, and I'm not finding anything definitive online. But it looks like at some point recently they had Vegan Cinnamon Rolls so I'll be keeping an eye out for the return of those...

This is one of my favorite places to work remote. There's plenty of seating options, yummy burritos (steak is my go to!), and lots of natural sunlight! The seasonal drink menu is so fun and I love that they don't up charge for special milks.

Calling all coffee moms If you want a place to get amazing coffee and a place for your child to play. this is it. I got to sip my coffee and work on some things while my baby played. It was fantastic. Light of Earendil Beans are my favorite.

16-ounce cold brew with heavy cream. So smooth, they should call it the Billy Dee.

PH coffee is in my neighborhood and I pass by all the time, always rushing to get to my destination, rarely allowing enough time to pop in. That has to change. Today was my 4th visit since they opened years ago. I ordered my usual cold brew with heavy cream and it was so smooth it could con me out of my life savings. Just excellent. My only quibble is that it's 16 ounces, and I would prefer a 20-24 ounce option. I'm trying to accept that I can't always have what I want, so it's ok. The barista on duty was absolutely adorable with personality plus. Very kind and welcoming. The space has plenty of seating and would be perfect for meeting up with friends, getting some work done, or hiding from some of my responsibilities for a bit. I wish I'd had time to stay at the shop awhile and relax with my coffee but today was not the day. It's on my agenda though, for sure.

Coffee: ***** Customer service:**** Ambiance:** Diversity:**** Pastries: *** Overall: **** [out of *****] When you go here get the brisket breakfast burrito!!! It was good. The savory scone (bacon, chive, cheddar) was also very delicious! Ok, ok, this is a coffee review and the Cortado was one of the best I've had in Kansas City and seasonal hot goblin was full of spicy cinnamon frothy goodness. The ambiance is very family friendly hipster. There is a bar to watch children play in the play area, yes it has a young child play area. The seating is not the most comfortable and the food looks basic but tastes good.

I had the Estrella, which comes with passion fruit sorbet on top of sparkling wine and nicta (corn liquor). It was interesting, but once the sorbet melted into the drink, it mostly just tasted like sorbet. Good, just not very "cocktail-forward." My husband had the Jade Jaguar, which was tasty -- probably a solid 7/10. Our friend ordered the Oaxacan, which ended up being the table favorite: smoky, slightly sweet, and really well balanced. We only tried a couple of snacks. The chicharrones were a highlight -- warm, crispy, and absolutely delicious. The bar nuts, however, weren't a favorite. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for something different and visually/atmospherically special. The music is great but a bit loud, so it's not ideal for long conversations or group hangouts. We didn't try the food menu beyond snacks, but based on the experience, I'd still recommend it for drinks and vibes.

I have always loved City Market as a coffee option and I'll be back to have more from the menu - I especially want to try their B&G's. The space is small but vibrant. My only complaint while sitting at the bar was the guy working behind the counter that seemed like customer service skills were beneath him. When we arrived, it was a little quiet, so we sat at the bar. The two bartenders working were welcoming. One of them asked if we were there to eat, handed us menus, and then let us know what wasn't in stock. It was a little weird that they were out of chicken quarters, pasta salad (or was it potato?), burgers (maybe that's a testament to their popularity), and bacon... Thankfully, the mac & cheese was available, so the mission wasn't a fail. The plus was that it came with a side of fries, and not just any-- they were seasoned sidewinder fries, for those of you who are fans of thicker potatoes. I had the Italian po-boy, which I really enjoyed. I thought they constructed it well, and the spicy relish wasn't too much heat if you're worried about that. It was definitely the right amount of food, too. I was able to clean the plate and not regret the last bite. At this point, they've been open for 8 months, so I think they've worked out the kinks, but we also showed up on a Wednesday night, so service was great and attentive. It might be different on weekends, but I'd come back to try more things on the food menu.
