Very slow in making a pike coffee. Oat milk on the counter left out dated. Wanted this Starbucks to be good, so bad.

Matcha cream is not sweet at all and strawberries are not quite in season I suppose I also had a drink and it was delicious. It had brown sugar, Boba, and a taro milk cap. Joyu has been a very good place when it comes to producing various products. Whether it's boba tea, smoothies or coffee, they rarely disappoint. Let's see how things turned out. We were greeted by the staff once we walked in. Like many times, the decor was spotless and the vibe calm There were a few customers inside either dining in or ordering takeout. We knew what we wanted before entering so it took no time to order. I selected one of their Spring items, Brown Sugar Rose-Berry Freshmilk with brown sugar pearls, in honor of cherry blossoms for the State of Virginia. A very good drink indeed. Not too sweet and full of flavor. Some of the pearls did get stuck together (they were served hot after all), but it was no problem. Thank you once again Joyu for having us feel comfortable with much needed drinks. You'll see us again soon :)

Um YES PLEASE!!!…read more This was a last minute decision to stop when we were on our way back from the farmers market and BOY am I glad we stopped in! Buckroe coffee was one of the best coffee shops I've been to in quite some time, too bad it's on the other side of the water from our house! Walking in you can tell it was once a bank, LOVE older buildings and stories like this! The atmosphere inside was amazing, there were all different types of customers enjoying conversation, working, and just enjoying time in their 3rd place. I ordered a blended mocha frappe. PERFECT on the hot day! My daughter ordered a lemon & white chocolate latte and it was one of the best she has had (and like her mother, she does love her coffee and is VERY picky) My husband went the non coffee route and ordered a Mango smoothie and found it refreshing and finished it in the car on the way home. If you are on the hampton side of the water I highly recommend you stopping at Buckroe coffee. You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to head back up to the farmers market so I can stop here again on the way home :)

Decided to finally try out Buckroe Coffee after a long trail walk. What a pleasant surprise!…read moreI was welcomed upon entering and the cashier was extremely helpful with what to choose for my first visit. I substituted oat milk in my crème brûlée latte and it was a great substitution without changing the taste of the drink. Not too sweet. My breakfast sandwich was nice and flavorful. Croissant crispy and light, cheese nicely melted. I would have liked my bacon consistently crispy but it didn't take away from the quality or taste at all. Now the açaí bowl...wow! As soon as I lifted the lid, I could smell the fresh fruits. It was a great balance of fresh ingredients. This was my favorite item. Great value for the price and I can't speak enough on the freshness of the ingredients. 100% returning!!

They also rotate flavors through different seasons- I loved when they had the ube latte. The food is yummy; I liked the baja breakfast burrito & their baked goods are amazing! I really enjoyed my drink. It was sweet but not too sweet. And the coffee was nice and not bitter. My fiancé got the tres leches and that was also very good. It was sweet and creamy. The coffee cake we got was just ok. It was kind of bland with hints of cinnamon. And it was a little dense. It was the only pastry that was there. I'm not sure if it was because we got there around 12, or if they just don't have other pastries regularly. It was also a lot more expensive than other coffee shops in the area. If we are back in the area we will definitely come back for the coffee and vibes. The inside is beautiful and a really chill place. It was clean inside and the couches were comfy. I also liked that the baristas knew the locals that came in. That welcoming feeling makes all the difference.

Hands down one of the coolest coffee houses in Hampton Roads!…read more I would likely have never known this place existed without my coffee passport. It's tucked away on Fort Monroe - a little off the beaten path for me, but well with the visit. Google maps had me coming from the back side of the building but once you find your way around, there is ample parking and some outdoor seating for nice days. Like any converted firehouse the only windows are from the large roll-up doors. The inside is cozy with plenty of comfy seating. They offer free Wi-Fi and activities for little ones including lots of fire trucks to play with so this would be a nice spot for families. Already planning to bring my family in for a stop on the way to Williamsburg. Plenty of coffee and non-coffee options plus seasonal specials and tons of flavor choices, including sugar free. I opted for a sugar-free dark chocolate latte which was delicious - perfect level of sweetness and just the right temperature. I also ordered an egg and cheese sandwich on naan bread. They have multiple cheese and other bread options. The egg was a little over seasoned but flavor was good. Compared to the major chains and other independent coffee shops, prices here are reasonable. Overall a great visit with welcoming and helpful staff. Looking forward to a trip back!
