How many baristas does it take to make an espresso? Answer: one. But you won't find any baristas here. Only clueless, disinterested people with no passion or desire to improve. Some of this is on the employees, but Starbucks gets blame too for not training them better. What a disaster! I didn't see espresso on the menu so I asked for "just an espresso, a double." Pretty clear right? Keep in mind Starbucks started the whole "second wave coffee culture" craze in the USA with their fancy Italian lattes, grandes, and all that. This isn't rocket science just basic Italian coffee vocabulary. Not to this kid behind the counter who looked at me with a confused, disinterested stare. I repeated, "just espresso, nothing else. A double." Still not comprehending. He called out to an associate: "Um, do we have 'just espresso?" She came over. "He said he wants 'just an espresso'". I tell her the same thing: yes, just a simple espresso, a double. You'd think it would be resolved no, right? No! She didn't get it either. She said "he wants the **** (name of some fancy coffee drink); it's on the menu. I looked at the menu. It's a fancy coffee drink. "No, I just want an espresso, nothing else." She's like "We have many drinks with espresso. Did you want a Cappuccino? An Americano?" I'm getting exasperated by now. "No, just an espresso. A shot of espresso in a cup. Do you have it?". Finally she gets it. "Oh, an espresso." To the kid: "Make him 2 shots of espresso in a cup." Finally! After what seemed like 5 minutes but was probably less, I got my espresso, just average, and joined my friends. I never did get a meaningful answer about why it's not listed on the menu. Just left with the feeling that they were annoyed with me for complicating their day and that they believed that I, not they, were the clueless ones. One more thing: I don't normally go to Starbucks or Dunkin, or any chain restaurant for that matter. I'd rather support a local community shop and its people than some corporate investors in Seattle. For every sterile carbon-copy Starbucks that opens, that's one less independent shop that can compete. I do what I can to help the little guys. I made an exception that day to meet a friend on their work break. But not again, especially this one! read more

I never go to Starbucks, but decided to this morning because I was in a rush. I asked if they had pumpkin syrup, and the drive thru worker rudely replied "umm pumpkin is extremely out of season." and his coworkers laughed in the background. Not a great feeling when he could have politely let me know they don't have seasonal flavors year round. the window worker was nice. read more

When I indicate that I want a personal cup on the app, I have consistently found my coffee on the counter in a plastic cup. I'm trying to avoid plastic consumption, which I thought Starbucks supported. its very frustrating and I'm not sure if it's complete disregard by the employees or a lack of training. read more

Starbucks your system needs to change. Food and drink should be coming out at the same time. By the time I get my drinks the food is ice cold!!!! This is a constant problem in your gardner Massachusetts store. I have said this before and nothing has changed, can someone actually do something about it? I am a big Starbucks fan and visit many different locations regularly. This store consistently has the worst service that I have ever seen.

The customer service left a lot to be desired. It was about 2 minutes standing at the front of the line before anyone acknowledged my existence and there were at least 5 employees behind the counter. It took almost 20 minutes to get 2 coffees. While there was nothing wrong with the beverages, I've never waited that long at another Starbucks. read more

Oh I wish I could leave a good review I got to Gardner Starbucks today for a treat. I ended up waiting 15 plus minutes for a med mock Frappuccino...when I saw a employee walking over with like 5 other Frozen drinks with whipped cream on top. Is definitely not first come first serve at starbucks in gardner!! Did I mention all the other frozen drinks were much bigger than mine. Garden, a Starbucks last this customer next time I treat mys off.I will take a quick trip to athal starbucks!! For the past 6 months or more when ordering beverages, the cups that you can't see through have been 2/3rds full , never full even without whipped cream. I've been to many other locations and have not had this issue. When expressing my concerns to the staff manager, I was told that the coffee settles. Since when does coffee settle? This has to be one of the worst Starbucks around. Employees are miserable no one is ever smiling. With that they don't care because they make horriable drinks. The coffee is OK. The service is not good. Slow, slow, slow! We waited nearly half an hour to get a regular latte and capuchino. Then when it came up, the barista announced it in hushed tones, and put it in the slot for Uber orders. C'mon, guys, you can do better than this. And a general problem with Starbucks. They are overwhelmed making creamy fatty coffee-like drinks and can't seem to get to the simple orders. I won't be back. read more

I spend a lot of time at this location. The staff is always super friendly and seem like they genuinely enjoy working with each other. I never do drive thru so I can't speak to that speed but ordering off mobile app for in store pick up or ordering inside is always timely. Only reason for 4 not 5 stars is it's not always the cleanest. read more

Out of all the Starbucks locations I've visited the Gardner store has by far the worst and slowest service. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich came up in a few minutes but I waited 20 minutes for the coffee. When I asked about the coffee I was very curtly told "I make the drinks in the order I received them." read more
