On our way home to Virginia Beach on Sun., June 22 at 11 am, we stopped at the Starbucks on Rt 17 before 95 South. From placing our order to getting our coffees and banana bread the people working were friendly and efficient - much more so than my local Starbucks and under busier conditions. My wife drinks Starbucks coffee every day. She always orders her latte's with the "No Room" option. This store consistently either ignores what the customer asks for or cannot read I am not sure which one. She is always having them redo her coffee because they do not read what the customer asks for and they are always getting it wrong. Yesterday I went to pick up her coffee at the drive through. After ordering it with the No Room option and getting it at the drive-through window, I started to drive off and realized I need to check it and of course, there was at least an inch missing. I parked my truck and went inside. I asked the cashier to look at the label where I pointed out the No Room. I then asked him to look inside. He opened the lid and said "so". It is obvious, these guys have zero training. I actually had to ask to have it filled to the top because they have no idea what No Room really means. So I walked over to the side of the counter to pick up my coffee and watched the barista add more milk, remove the foam and then he sat it down and went off to work on other things. After it sat for about a minute, I said "Is someone going to give me my coffee" they replied, we are really busy. Someone finally put the lid on the coffee that had sat open in front of the barista machine for a minute or so and handed it to me. Now why couldn't the barista do that right after he removed the foam. The answer is simple, he wanted me to wait. He was punishing me for his mistake. If he would have read the label in the first place, all this would have never happened. So I am asking all my coffee lovers out there to boycott this store as they clearly have issues and have no problem disrespecting their customers. I have to believe I am not alone. I am sure they are treating others the same way. So please boycott this store. read more

Glass doors are filthy. Doorhandles are a bacteria science project and if you are a walk-in customer, you are low priority. They place drive-through and pick up orders over walk-ins so be prepared to wait. read more

They had a busy drive through which is understandable, but the girl with green hair seems to hate her job. We waited at the register for several minutes. I'm not one to give 5 stars just because and as someone that travels cross country a lot I tend to visit a lot of Starbucks locations I've never been to before, I'm a cancer survivor (lost my tongue) so I can be pretty specific about how I want my drink made, because things taste differently to me when they are off even a little bit.. 9 times out of 10 I'm met with an attitude or annoyed demeanor by baristas that have never made my drink before and assume I'm just being extra picky.. I was expecting the same thing today when I went into this location. As soon as I walked in the door I was met with a polite greeting asking how my day was going. Then when I was at the register showing them my elaborate drink instructions, I was pleasantly surprised that I did not receive one attitude, sigh or rolling of eyes. They were all very friendly at this location, listened to the way I wanted my drink made , even the specifics. Didnt give me a hard time or make me feel like I was inconveniencing them. And for that alone, I'm leaving this 5 star review. Not sure why so many previous reviewers mentioned bad service, as I didn't get that at all ! I will not be back at this location. I came in today, ordered mobile with an expected time of completion of 9-12 minutes. I walked in and waited about 20 minutes. I noticed that in-store and drive thru were being completed and they were taking stickers from mobile and sticking them up on the shelf and leaving them. I watched them fulfill at least 20 orders. I asked and they said "yours is next in line." Waited another 10 minutes as I watched my order not be made. I asked for a manager, she told me that they pull from both lines but that I may be further down on the list because of mobile orders. I told her I think it's ridiculous to fulfill orders that just ordered before you make one from 20+ minutes ago. She was very argumentative and I told her I would contact corporate (which I did) and I just wanted my drinks. For $17 for 3 coffees it should take no more than 8-10 minutes. What is going on with this location? The customers service is getting bad. More often they have their lobby closed and on line orders are disabled. DD has received more of my business because of these two reasons. I like sitting in the lobby to pass time but lately I can't. Those working June 5th closing shift have bad attitudes. Two different employees gave me attitude twice today when I was picking up an order for someone else and picked it up a minute after it was placed. I was fine waiting I have worked at Starbucks and understand it'll take a second and when I had pulled into the drive through no one was behind or in front of me. It was after 6pm it was just super slow. after pulling up to the window two cars pulled into the drive thru. Obviously I felt bad but if I hadn't placed the order online then I still would've pulled in before those cars and verbally had ordered before them. Meaning I would've held up the line for my drink anyway! I don't understand why they scolded me twice about mobile ordering when if I had pulled up and hadn't used the app I would've just placed the order right then through the drive thru anyway ? And the people behind me still would've had to wait. I was patiently waiting too I never assumed I would get my order right away nor did I act like they were taking forever. I didn't give them any attitude about how long it took, I was perfectly fine waiting. Which is why I just don't understand the reason for the attitudes, especially since I explained nicely twice that I was sorry but I was picking it up for someone else who I thought placed it awhile ago but that that was my mistake. They told me nope and to do better next time and I still apologized and said I'm sorry. They even left the window open for a bit so that I could hear them talking about me and scoffing to one another. I would've have thought much about these interaction if they hadn't also purposely messed up my drink. For my drink I ordered the Caramel crunch frappe and it didn't taste as it should at all. Presentation is also horrible. This drink is supposed to have whip and caramel on bottom and on top ... but they didn't care to put the whip or caramel on bottom. It's also strangely icy which leads me to believe they forgot the base! Meaning it was ice, frap roast, and milk blended together that's it. (I worked at Starbucks, I literally know what's supposed to go in it, how it's supposed to look and taste, and when something is missing). When I got to my destination I realized they also did not open the pineapple cloud cake I ordered, they just threw it in the bag. (Even tho they gave me this long before I got my drink, and had enough time to talk about me to one another about me, meaning they had enough time to of opened it before giving it to me like they're supposed to!). I'm just frustrated at the attitudes and that they half assed my drink (because I upset them - like toddlers). I get being upset that the order was placed right before I got to the drive thru but that doesn't give you a right to chew out someone. Also the app doesn't says "DONT PLACE IT IMMEDIATELY" it says order will be ready in 3-5minutes so that people don't get upset if it isn't ready immediately but it and gives no directions that you can't place it as you're pulling in. And again if I had ordered at the window, they wouldve had to make it before they made the drinks for the people that came behind me. The whole thing was just so uncalled for. read more

Every time I come here there's an unreasonable wait. I typically do a mobile order and still end up waiting. Today I went, after doing a mobile order. I ordered 2 drinks and the first was done after waiting about 5 minutes... I waited 10 more minutes for the second one. I haven't returned to Starbucks in over a year since moving here from California, based on how unfriendly the employees there were. Last Friday (13 December) my wife wanted to stop there and talked me into it. Low and behold, it's not a regional thing, the 2003 Johnny Depp wanna be was just as rude as the jerks in California. And I guess this is just how Starbucks employees act now. If you want to feel like you're bothering an employee by going to their store by all means go to this one. The jerk at the window didn't say a word handed me the coffee took the card and gave me the receipt.... No words whatsoever. I went in one day to order several drinks for my family but when I got in the car, I realised that I had been given a small caramel frappe but charged for a large. The red flag was when I placed my order, the guy was pushing a whole lot of buttons when normally it doesn't take nearly that long to just order and pay. He also didn't even offer me a receipt. I didn't let this fly. I called and spoke to the manager and when I came back in and complained, he called this other guy over and I asked to speak to the manager. Worst run Starbucks in the area! It's 50/50 if they open the inside (drive through only), hours of operation are completely arbitrary and if you want to order online to speed things up, they never have blonde roast available forcing you to order inside where it's already brewed. But it gets worst, when you order said blonde roast you will have to wait for at least 5 minutes and I've waited as much as 15 minutes before getting coffee. (All other Starbucks, cashiers will turn around pour the coffee and hand me my coffee, taking an 5 extra seconds) Also, if you do have extra time and they don't have blonde roast brewed, for some reason they will not do a pour over. I have also been give pike and a blonde americano numerous time as they try and pass it off as a blonde coffee. I now driver pass this Starbucks to Cowan because customers service is way better. read more

The staff is always friendly and the lines move pretty fast. It's a great location to stop before hitting 95 or Fredericksburg. The parking lot is easy to get in and out of with two different entrances and exits. read more

This establishment does not adhere to their business hours and closes whenever they want. Closing at 12:30 PM on a Saturday needs to reflect on your app which states 10pm. The only way I knew they were closed was because of a hand written note on the front door. read more

Good enough Starbucks, they usually get things right. The drive-through can get long, but that's more on the lack of options in this immediate area. Plus if you park right next to the building, that long drive-through line can trap you in. That said, it also seems they've done away with the Mobile Order option at this location, so you can't order ahead anymore. they deserve zero stars!!! i bought venti coffee at the drive through. they filled it up literally up to the lid. i took the lid off to add sugar. as soon as i too the lid off, the cup buckled and coffee spilled on my hands and pants. i asked the girl at the drive thru, she was snappy and said thats how much she always fills the cups. not a sorry, not a napkin, nothing!!! i have been a starbucks customer for almost 20 years. never had a cup filled up to the lid. my fingers are burning up as we speak. wth????? read more

I'm not sure if it's a management issue or lack of staff but this location regularly takes about 15 minutes for drive thru (even pre-covid). It does not help that the drive thru wraps around the entire building complicating the line. I wish there was a better ratio of tire shops to Starbucks on 17 because the ones in giant and target are not useful locations so this location is always backed up. read more

The coffee is fine. But, if you are going to use the drive-thru please note that there is a HUGE hole around a sewer cover that you must traverse. If you don't come to a complete stop and creep across it you'll be looking at an expensive front end alignment.
