We ordered my longtime favorite--the chocolate malt--along with a vanilla and a strawberry soft-serve in waffle cones. There is simply nothing like these cold, sweet treats on a hot summer day. After visiting and trying ice cream shops all along the East Coast during our vacation, Carl's still stands out as a true gem. The quality, tradition, and experience are every bit as special as I remembered. Thank you for continuing to create memories for generations of families. Initially, I left a frustrated review--but I truly appreciate the way this situation was handled afterward. Michele, the owner, went above and beyond to make things right. She personally reached out, corrected the error, and even took the time to call and both clarify and apologize. That level of customer service really stood out to me and made a big difference. Mistakes can happen anywhere, but it's how a business responds that matters most. It's a good sign that Rita's has customers at many hours throughout the day. This Rita's is relatively popular but has a terrible location for when it gets busy. The parking lot can be hectic and tight and people overflow quickly into the parking lot, at times, when it's only slightly busy. Also, I've gone a couple times during a rush (unintentionally) and there has often been one person working so it would move very slowly. Makes sense but I'm surprised the owner hasn't looked at data to analyze the busiest times and I don't even know if the workers have relayed information about the busy hours. I've avoided this locations several times when I see it's slightly busy and there's one worker. It always just gets worse with the wait time from that point on. The service is friendly and there are a few outdoor tables to eat your delicious choice at. The ambiance is nice but it can get very crowded quickly. I love their rewards app and I'll admit it gets me to go back some times.

She let us try as many flavors as we wanted and answered all our questions. The ice cream menu is left of the truck, so be mindful of that. There isn't much seating since it's a food truck, but we ate the ice cream in the car. You order at one window and pick up at a different one.

I paid $16. and change. Not worth it to me, and especially considering the service. The staff seemed like I was bothering her and I was an inconvenience. I am passionate about supporting small local owned businesses vs chains but I will take my business elsewhere going forward.
