I ordered my food online. 20 minutes later I was inside and I went up and asked if they had it after I already paid and ordered. They told me they were out, I was appalled! They told me I could switch it out with another pastry, which is the only one available was a croissant. The croissant is a whole dollar less! And I did not get a refund! My friend also experience this horrid customer service by not being served a lemon loaf or a muffin OR a cake pop because they were so called, out, after I saw extras on the rack, which they "could not serve cold." Top-notch service here - friendly and helpful staff, and quality/menu are what you'd expect at a Starbucks. I visited during a very busy morning rush and chose to go inside rather than wait in the very long drive-thru line. The many staff members looked like a well-oiled machine getting drinks out; it was impressive to watch! I overheard one error in a drink and the staff member handled it promptly and professionally. The waiting area has plenty of standing room and a few tables. Decor is nice. Everything looked clean inside and outside. I have been at the drive-thru too and had a similar experience. Love coming here to grab a beverage to watch people downtown to overhear the employees talk behind the counter and when the sun is out it's great to soak up the rays with the outdoor tables. Private parking is easy to get in and out but it's small and when the drive thru is packed the parking can get hairy. There's street parking off Fairfield if the lot is full. The inside recently got a facelift. It's more spacious and clean looking. Plenty of tables and counter seating,, but it does get busy and most times I sit out in the garage area because they have couches. This building used to be an old service station so it's very cool. The staff is always friendly and of course educated in all things coffee. Choosing something is usually based on preference. I never try new things here but the offerings range from cold to hot coffee to tea or even grab an item from the deli case or cooler. They also have merchandise and bagged coffee available for purchase. Def a hot spot to be. See ya there!!! read more

Finding a parking spot on a Saturday morning was reminiscent of the Hunger Games. The parking lot was small and the drive through was bursting with people trying to get their caffeine fix but the inside environment was quite calm and the service was friendly and speedy. I was a huge fan of the attached garage area which has extra seating and on this sunny morning there were many people catching up with friends over a cup of joe. The downtown Starbucks is booming during the weekday morning with business people grabbing their cup of joe on their way into the office. On the weekends it is more of a sociable atmosphere; college students writing papers, nearby residents walking a few blocks to enjoy a snack with a friend. The part I love most about this Starbucks is the urban style when the attached garage door area. When the weather is nice and it is all open, you can't find a better spot to work for a few hours. Coffee and food can be hit or miss. I will say-- in the mornings when the line is long, head inside. This Starbucks is part of the modern updating, called building preservation. Rather than tear down a historically significant building and erecting a prefabricated (kit). This original was built in 1924 was abandoned for years. Mostly I look at the people, who work at a place I dine or drink coffee, beer anything. I remember one morning when someone was carrying away one bag and one coffee with a bagel. His bagel fell on the floor, on the way out. They didn't think twice about giving him another, even after having paid for one. Or how the bakery goods are donated (early expiration date) he he. To the salvation army residents next door. Or how employees give something away, rather than embarrass someone who (forgot) their wallet. I'm going to use this space for a small rant. There are a lot of people that are Anti-Starbucks, and say that we (the coffee drinkers) need to support small, independent coffee shops instead. But there's a problem with this. Pretty much every small coffee shop in Fort Wayne serves one of three? brands of coffee: If every small coffee shop serves about the same brand of coffee, there is no difference between going to a small coffee shop and going to a Starbucks. There was a time when Starbucks was toying around with the idea of starting their own small coffee shops and giving them each their own unique name and ambiance, something like at this location. That's essentially what many small coffee shops are like, except instead of Starbucks they serve one of three? Brands. The three brands aren't that bad, but much like a restaurant, coffee shops should be rewarded for being either unique or very good. Serving Cafe and doing nothing else to set themselves apart from any other independent coffee shop is doing neither of those things, and shouldn't be rewarded simply for being "not Starbucks." I work and live downtown, so I frequent this Starbucks location fairly often. I've never been disappointed with any part of the cafe process. The barista on register is always friendly, cordial, and efficient at getting my order. The barista making my drink is always efficient and friendly when it's done. I used to work at Barnes & Noble as a barista, so being on this side of the counter, I have certain expectations for baristas, and it's very refreshing to have those fulfilled. The atmosphere there is very nice and relaxed, which I appreciate a lot. My one small qualm is I just wish the building was a little bigger. Or maybe the furniture needs moved around and rearranged, or there needs to be less or something. At times it can feel very crowded due to how much business they go through at that location. I won't comment on the Starbuck's products as they are consistent from place to place. However, this was the first time I've been to this location. I was very impressed. The facility kept the old gas station flare - which was refreshing to see. The store and grounds were kept in very good condition. The restroom was very clean. The staff here was very friendly. There was enough staff at 8pm at night to fill our order quickly. My wife and I sat in the "garage".. The garage was very well decorated and had very comfortable chairs to lounge and relax. The other indoor area had plenty of seating. The outside seating was nice and gives you a comfortable street level view. Give this location a try....especially if you like to go downtown in the evenings. read more

Working full time downtown means going for coffee a few times a week. Every time I've come here, service has been excellent, fast and friendly. They always have enough staff to handle the high traffic of this location. It used to be an old mechanic shop and it's really neat to see what they've done with the garage area. The drive-thru is speedy, but the location isn't ideal. It's often crowded and if there are quite a few cars in the drive-thru, it can block others from getting out of the small parking lot. This Starbucks location is alright. There's a drive-thru and two seating sections. I didn't know where the entrance was, so I ended up walking all the way around the store and it was a bit strange to walk across the drive-thru queue. The seating section with the staff was cold- temperature wise, and the additional seating section was oddly warm. I felt like Goldilocks, trying to find the perfect temperature. The staff here was alright as well, nothing special to report. If you're looking for a more quiet and cleaner atmosphere, I'd suggest the Jefferson Pointe Starbucks. read more

Having patronized a fair number of Starbucks traveling for business, I absolutely LOVE the Baristas who work the Jefferson Boulevard store. They are polite and always make you feel welcome and are happy to accommodate any special requests with out acting like it is a Sisyphean task, i.e. asking for Whole Milk instead of skim. In addition, the fact that Starbucks opted to rehabilitate the old service station in lieu of building a new store is definitely a plus for me although admittedly it has no bearing on the coffee or service, but does add a bit of ambiance for those who appreciate historical architecture. DRIVE-THRU - It is a tight squeeze around the bending path with curbs on both sides, so just make sure to pay attention as some wider vehicles may have trouble navigating the turn without dinging up their tires. read more

Upon my visit as a long time customer and regular to this location,the shift leader or employee by the name of Monica fraternizing with other employees while I am ordering and the employee taking my order was lost. Monica gave no assistance. Finally after 10mins I get my receipt and await my drink. Meanwhile another customer came in and ordered,got his drink and left. So o asked Monica why the wait with so many employees. She stated it's only been 5 min. I'm the only customer now so I asked,when you're here,why are there so many issues. One of the most unique Starbucks I have been too. Plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The outdoor seating is a garage that now acts as a type of three seasons seating area. The barista at the counter was friendly and we had a nice conversation once he got to my drink. The 4/5 stars is for speed of service, waited almost 7 minutes for my drink. Standard Starbucks. Conveniently located downtown. They are however a little slower on order to serve time.

This location is horribly understaffed. You either need to place a mobile order to get your coffee quicker or shove your way through the line and cut everyone. If you're planning on stopping here for coffee before you head to work downtown, plan on being late to your job. The average wait time in the drive-thru is about 15-20 minutes. read more
