Stopped at this location for a quick hot chocolate for my daughter. The drive through line was really long, the lobby didn't appear to have that many people waiting, so I hopped out of the car and went inside to get the hot chocolate. I have never been in such Starbucks. Both bathrooms need cleaning... A deep cleaning. They need to look at the walls in the restrooms and clean the walls too. I'm normally pretty forgiving when it comes to service issues but the wait times in this drive thru just aren't acceptable. It doesn't make sense that someone should have to wait 30 minutes in the drive thru just to get an Iced coffee. What gives, Starbucks? I'm not sure If they're understaffed or just moving too slow. Regardless, this location has issues that they need to work through. I didn't go inside on this visit, so I cannot comment on the interior. My biggest advice would be that if you see any line in the drive thru, avoid this location unless you've got time to burn. The staff was polite, but that almost made it worse as no one even addressed the fact that I had just spent 30 minutes stuck in a line just to get coffee. Second time I've come here. They're fast but not good. Both times I ordered iced coffee with cream and vanilla. I was drinking milk...I had to ask for more coffee in my milk and no vanilla that I could tell. Usually Starbucks is pretty consistent with my order but this one seems to be consistently off. I also got breakfast sandwiches both days and they were good but pretty lopsided like they were thrown about in the bag. Honestly this sounds harsh but this is the WORST Starbucks. Consistently over the last 3 years the wait is outrageous. There may only be 3-4 cars and the wait is over 15-20 mins. Once I waited 30 mins and by the time I received my drinks they were completely melted and room temp. I've never had a problem with the customer service at this Starbucks. Every employee here that I've interacted with has been polite and personable and my order has always been correct. I usually order via the mobile app these days and 95% of the time, my order is waiting for me when I get there. On the rare occasions it isn't, the employees are always very apologetic and work to fix the issue. Maybe I always get good service because I'm nice to the employees (because, you know, customer facing jobs are miserable garbage jobs and way too many customers are straight up jerks)? Regardless, I always get the same positive attitude back that I give to the employees. (And I've seen the customers that come here and how they behave. Way too many jerks!) The food and beverages are the standard Starbucks fare and are pretty much the same wherever you go. I've never noticed any variance in quality between this location and any other Starbucks I've been to. The store itself and the bathrooms have always been clean when I've been there. No funk in the bathroom to hint that the food prep area might be funky and gross as well. That said, this is a busy location on a busy road and unless you come either late at night or very early in the morning, you will be waiting because everybody in Boone County seems to get their Starbucks here. The wait is especially long during the pre- and post-work rush hours, but this really isn't too unexpected. The wait seems to be slightly better in the drive through than in the store (maybe because I'm sitting and listening to my music!), but it's still not great; i.e. every time I've seen a long drive through line and decided to go in the store, the wait was just as long, if not longer than if I'd just stayed in the drive through. If you don't want to wait, there are two whole other Starbucks options on this road (the same side of Mall Road, even!). The Kroger location has a slightly longer wait than the Barnes and Noble option. The mobile order option almost always cuts out any waiting for me. Overall, a decent Starbucks, and one I foresee coming back to on a regular enough basis unless something significant changes. read more

This was my go-to Starbucks for six years until new management came in. Since then the entire store has gone downhill. No matter what time of day it is the wait is always longer than necessary, they consistently screw up my order, and if you're inside and the drive-thru is busy, expect to be completely ignored. I stood at the counter for fourteen minutes (I timed it) while every barista ignored me and worked the drive-thru. When I was finally greeted by a barista after standing there for fourteen minutes all he said was, "what can I get for you?" Honestly you're better off going to the Starbucks in Kroger which is always poor quality. Thankfully I moved and have a new Starbucks to frequent. read more

Of all the Starbucks in the world... ...I'm super happy [and blessed] that the one within walking distance of my house has the friendliest staff. This location is super small, space wise, but that's what adds to its charm and coziness. I love coming here with the sis and chilling out on rainy days and watch the drive-thru line grow bigger and bigger. That's the only gripe I have...no matter what time of day it is - 10:50a.m. or 10:50p.m., Monday or Saturday - there's always a packed drive-thru! This may be the most poorly run Starbucks in America. On one trip when 15 people were in line, a customer went into the back room and told the employees to come out and help customers. Today during a long wait in a short line the manager was focused on a display while employees ground coffee and folded boxes. Wait wait, there is more. While I typed they never finished my order. The manager appears to still be interfering with employees trying to serve customers. Why is this hard? Serve the customers first! The boxes and display can wait for a slow time. Absolutely the worst experiences at a Starbucks ever. 2 Sunday's in a row, I went to this Starbucks to get coffee and meet a friend at about 8 a.m. First Sunday, there were 3 to 4 girls working all very inattentive. No eye contact. No concern about the customer. Just working by habit it seemed. There were coffee beans all over the counter and floor. I mentioned that while I was waiting for my coffee. No response. I said it again and 1 girl said, "ok". I was there for an hour. Nobody ever cleaned up the beans. And they were not busy inside. Second Sunday, 4 girls working. Same as last Sunday. No personal contact. This time the floor where the workers were was filthy with paper, spilled coffee and grime. The bathrooms were filthy and looked to be filthy for awhile. I mean disgusting. Stood there for a few minutes while a barista walked by to the back room. She came out and looked at us with a look that said, "What do you want?" This Starbucks used to be great. The old employees were friendly and knew us by name, and they were quick. Now the new employees aren't friendly and they seem way understaffed. Today I spent twenty minutes in line to order and it took another ten to get my drink. The Barista would brew one drink and walk away somewhere in the back room the come back and brew another. This location is, shall we say, "cozy". I kind of feel like I'm on top of other people when I'm in the seating area because it's not very spacious. So it's not the ideal place for studying, but all the windows made it a nice place to read a book or newspaper while watching the snow falling. Which is exactly what I did tonight. The employees are friendly and chatty. I noticed that they don't take your name anymore when you place your order, they just call out your drink. read more
