This is usually my go to Starbucks when I'm in the Pasadena area. I think it's pretty nice how they are located across from San Jacinto Community College. The staff is always friendly and they move pretty fast compared to other Starbucks I've visit, so its not always crazy busy with long lines. I always order the white chocolate mocha with a cheese danish (TIP: Ask them to warm your danish it is not good cold). Overall, the location is great and the coffee is tasty, so I'll definitely return. read more

When I got there, there was not 1 customer in side, no one in the drive thru, 3 employees seen, 1 in the back and 2 right by the print out. They do seem to run out of some breakfast items quickly, but I'm sure it's because it's located across from the school & is very busy. Drinks are good but service is not that good. Literally placed a mobile order 10 minutes out from the store. Got there and waited another 10 minutes and that's because another client that was ordering while I was walking in there received her 3 drinks and 2 bakery items before I did, she called attention to the barista. Mind you while I was standing in front of 3/4 baristas at a time not once did one ask "if I had been helped" , "If I had a mobile order" Let's not mention after the fact that I waited over 20 minutes for 1 hot latte, another client received there drink first. I am a loyal "evening customer" to this location that I come over 4-5 times out of the week but any time that I do come in the morning/ afternoon time this situation happens. If the employee feels overwhelmed working and there is only two people (customers) in the establishment- he will throw his hands up and tell you in front of other customers "no, no I'm not doing that" when you order. Definitely a nice addition to the San Jac area. Rewind 5 years ago, to an era in which we had to drive along Spencer Hwy and/or Fairmont Pkwy to get a decent meal when doing anything in the area. This was very inconvenient, especially if you were in between classes with limited time on your hands. Now, with this Starbuck's right across the street, you can get your java fix anytime (within working hours, of course)! This is a standard Starbuck's with a drive thru window that offers the standard menu. The service was pretty fast in the drive thru which is always a plus. The only downside is that during my visit they seemed to be out of blonde roast coffee, sandwiches, and the protein boxes. Perhaps they got wiped out during the lunch rush? Who knows, but it's good to know there's another 'Bucks nearby. read more

I recently met a beautiful woman for a coffee date at this location. To be fair, my glowing review of this location is likely due in part to how well the date went. I will say, this was a great venue for a first date. From the time that we walked in, we were treated well. The female barista working the front counter even complimented my date on her makeup. On a side note, she did look spectacular. Sorry! I will do my best to remain focused on the review and not make this about my date. We both ordered the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. They were both prepared expertly and were delicious. Starbucks always gets a bad reputation for being so expensive. I appreciate the fact that they take care of their employees. I think that is worth paying a bit more for. The coffee house was clean and beautiful. I had no issue with the restrooms and found them to be clean. I would visit this location again in the future as I found my experience here to be a pleasant one. read more

I normally don't give out reviews like this. I use yelp to find restaurants or cafes I've never noticed in town. However, I felt the need to share the experience I had today. I typically go to the Starbucks in Deer Park, but the one across from San Jacinto College was closest. I've had a few bad experiences with this location, but I always brushed it off, considering I work in a fast food place and understand the stress these people go through as well. When I arrived, I ordered an iced coffee for my mom and I, it seemed fine and the guy (I didn't catch his name) was very polite. But when I received my drinks, I noticed the sticker said almond milk instead of half and half, but when he repeated the order to me, he said it correctly. I mentioned this to him, and got it fixed. But the waiting I had to endure was horrible! I received an iced coffee, but they forgot to make the second one I had. I wasn't acknowledged when I was waiting by the bar either. And when I finally got the second coffee, there was no caramel in it like I ordered. This Starbucks location has had some ups and downs from the way the drinks taste. This has got to be the only Starbucks in the world that doesn't have dark roast coffee available. When I stopped in for a coffee, my only choice was Pike's Place. The girl behind the counter asked me if I wanted to leave room for creamer, but getting the creamer took forever. I've never had a bad experience with Starbucks UNTIL NOW. I went in and asked to speak to the manager. The woman I spoke to, of fairly older age, claimed she was the manager. I explained to her that I had to request a signature on a consent form that would allow for a few fellow [college] students and I to quickly film a scene for a short film at the Starbucks. She agreed up until she began reading the consent form. She then showed it to another, younger woman - an employee for sure - a few feet down from us. The younger woman looked at the form for a few seconds, raised it up, and ripped it from TOP TO BOTTOM, with a snobby attitude. I looked at her in confusion. She looked up at me and said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Was this yours?" WHY COULDN'T SHE HAVE JUST SAID, "No. Sorry, you can't film here?" Her actions were beyond rude, and UNNECESSARY. I had to rush back to my college campus and pay to print another form. During that time, my group members confronted the woman and she claimed that no Starbucks location allows for filming. Still, that is NO REASON for her to have ripped my ONLY REQUIRED form RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Sure, this review may not be concerning a purchase, but it does show how terrible their service and manners are. Don't go here. read more

I like the atmosphere, with a mix of patrons from young college students, business people, and retired folks. The only downside is that the free WiFi goes haywire a lot for some reason. This location has the best layout for studying out of the three locations in the immediate area, but the WiFi is better at Fairmont/Beltway and Center/Pasadena Blvd. read more

Love the atmosphere and size at this Starbucks and the service has become better over the last few weeks. Only turn off is that they keep it sooooo freezing! Some people may like it, but when it's warmer outside than inside during December I have a problem. The smaller store nearby was packed, so I took my coat in with me knowing what to expect and a plan to sit outside if I still couldn't handle it (my hands started going numb last time I was here). Here lately, they've been messing up on our drinks.. Simple ones at that. Here's my personal favorite, ordered a Triple venti white chocolate mocha hot with only two pumps of sauce, get to the window to a grande double shot on ice with 2 pumps of white chocolate and get an "oh, I thought that's what you said"...or the occasional half foam half drink... And because of that, we started going to Center st bc they seem to know what they're doing, and only go to this one if we're closer. Just tonight, my husband and I got the grande salted caramel mocha. Mine regular and his only two pumps of mocha and two pumps of toffee nut bc he doesn't like it as sweet, they gave him a regular, we went back and explained to the barista that he asked for half the pumps, she wrote it on a cup for the man bun dude and I waited...and waited.. they were understaffed but I was patient. Got the remake only for my husband to get a full blown SCM .... it tasted exactly like mine...again. Center St is the way to go if you don't feel like going back 80 times just to get disappointed. read more
