I go there in the evenings before my shift around 9pm and there is a woman there who's absolutely nasty to the other workers. She genuinely is such a bully and it's clear that there is some communication issues between the people who work there. However starting my overnight shift seeing someone yell and curse at other coworkers is upsetting. She is just so nasty to other people and it goes against company values in my opinion to have someone be so awful to other people. My drink always gets out fast enough and is consistent which is nice but I really get such a bad taste in my mouth seeing that behavior. read more

Close to Case Western Medical School. It's the best if you're a student at Case. Otherwise you'll have a hard time finding parking. I've tried all of the Fall themed frappes. They are as good as what you expect from Starbucks. I ordered via the app to participate in promos, and each time they have my drinks out sooner than the estimated wait time the app tells you. I like their drinks coming out so quickly because I can walk there within several minutes. Your drink might be cold by the time you get to Starbucks and find parking if you're driving from elsewhere in Cleveland. Parking sucks. Great place to get your Starbucks fix. This is definitely a busy location since it's the only one at the clinic. It's pretty small so there's often a crowd of people waiting to get their orders. They have a few tables inside, which are almost always taken. Not the best place to get work done since it gets crowded and loud. A great tip is to use the app to place your mobile order. Takes 5-15 minutes depending on how busy they are. They put the mobile orders off to the side and you can just grab and go. I've never had a problem with the mobile orders. read more

Heroes for working at the busiest Starbucks in NE Ohio. They deal with the perfect storm: tired caffeine-addicted doctors, nurses and health care personnel. They serve the understandably anxious families of the patients who might have stayed up all night in the emergency room. They have rescued several from terrible nights on call, they serve patients and visitors who might be having the worst days of their lives, and might have helped these same patients by keeping that sleep-deprived surgeon awake. To choose to put a Starbucks in a hospital is pure evil genius, but these baristas don't have to suffer. Don't yell at them. Despite the heavy customer traffic, this Starbucks staff not only moves swiftly, but it is also really friendly. (Kindness and speedy service? Usually the twain never meet!) Not surprisingly, this Starbucks serves Starbucks coffee, which I happen to find quite delicious. As you likely know, the Starbucks house blend -- Pike Place -- is only $1.50 for a tall (small) serving. This price is better than most competitors, local or national. This location's clientele is truly unique...and really entertaining. Located at the heart of the Cleveland Clinic's main social and dining region, Starbucks is nearly always teeming with healthcare providers: world class doctors, NPs, RNs, and so forth. Everyone stops by for a cup of java, always discussing really neat clinical things. (Never any patient information, of course. HIPAA, hellllloo!) It's fun sitting next to random, stressed-out surgeons -- who've clearly just finished some operation or another -- while dissecting your own delicious marble pound cake! My only regret is that there is limited seating, despite the fact that this is a full service Starbucks. This place was right down the street from me when I used to live in Little Italy, yet I preferred to travel a longer distance to the Cedar\Fairmount Starbucks to get my caffeine fix. Why? 1. There is no other parking here except for metered parking. There's not even a "free 15 minute" option like some of the Cleveland Heights meters have...never thought I'd say that Cleveland Heights was better than Cleveland, but there's one way. I cannot describe to you how irritating this was. 2. Many of the baristas were slow as molasses. I have a friend who works here and she was about the only efficient one on staff. The rest of them took their sweet ole' time making my drinks, while I sat there and felt my hair get even grayer as I worried about my parking meter running out. 3. This place was always cold, mainly because there are people coming in and out of the Starbucks as well as the adjacent bank. 4. There is a paucity of comfy seating here. This place is light years better than "The Coffee House" on Juniper, which is one of the worst businesses that I have ever been to in my life (I'm not exaggerating), but it's still nothing great. Of course, this place benefits from "Case Captive Audience Syndrome", and they probably have little incentive to improve because they know that a steady stream of Case students will flow in every day, so I doubt things will get better. read more

Don't use mobile ordering here. I had the mobile app pitched to me as a "fast way to order ahead and get what you need without the wait in line." In most Starbucks, I imagine this may be true. In this location, there's something wrong with their mobile app processing for food. I HATE to be a peeved consumer. I REALLY hate it. I am usually SUPER patient, but have had enough bad experiences here that I feel like patience is no longer warranted. My experiences today at Starbucks made me feel like I was simply a $$ consumer that they could easily replace with another identical robot $$ consumer. I've ordered a breakfast sandwich on the mobile app here three times. Each time it took over 40 minutes. This past time, my order ended with no breakfast sandwich and subpar customer service. To give you some background, the breakfast sandwiches are literally frozen - All they need to do is pull them out of the freezer and put them in the toaster. That's it. The breakfast sandwiches are cheap, pretty healthy, and pretty tasty, so hypothetically a good fix if you're in a rush.....,.......except for the fact that it ACTUALLY takes 40+ minutes to get one. Today, I ordered online and it said my breakfast sandwich would be ready in "15 minutes." Perfect! I walked over and waited for 25 minutes before I started to ask questions, "Hey! Name is Christine, I ordered XX breakfast sandwich via the app. I know you're busy, but I was just curious - is that almost ready?" The answer was always "It's coming right up, just one minute." At 35 minutes, I calmly repeated the question and again heard (with more annoyance in the employee's voice): "So, yeah, it's just one minute, they're working on it now." Third time, at 40 minutes, I said "Please cancel my order. I no longer want this 45 minute-long frozen breakfast sandwich." To which the staff replied, "In order to cancel your order, you'll need to wait in line." The line was almost to the door of the Starbucks. I explicitly ordered on the mobile app to AVOID the line, and now you're recommending I stand in it to NOT get a product? This is truly remarkable to me. Beyond being terrible customer service, it's 150% illogical. So, I went back to my office with no food and spent 15 minutes on the phone with Starbucks Customer Service getting a refund to my card. Nowhere in this process did a SINGLE Starbucks employee apologize to me. Not anyone at the store or anyone on the phone. I'll be deleting my Starbucks app as soon as I get my refund (...which, by the way, they said will take 7 - 8 business days). read more

A-ok is all I can really say about any Starbucks. This one is nice enough, relatively small but nice, clean and very friendly. It's open almost 24 hours a day and smack in the middle of the airport-like Clinic main drag. When working overnight, it's nice to come down at midnight and get an Americano to shore me up. I really wish there was more seating too since I'm sure if I were a patient's family member it would be really nice to have a spot to go and chill for awhile to read or work on stuff. There are other places to sit at the Clinic of course, but a nice dark, cozy coffee shop might be just the ticket sometimes. Although most of the time it wouldn't be 'chill' at all since literally several hundred people go through here each day. The place is remarkably efficient for as many people as can be in here sometimes. If you come after many people are done with morning rounds or early meetings, (like around 10am), the line is literally winding all around the place and out the door. Sometimes the police or fire people come and tell you the line can't go into the hallway because it's a fire hazard. Yet even when it's this packed, you'll only wait about 10-15 minutes from end of line to hot coffee in hand. For us worker bees, this place is just part of the madness that is the Clinic. I am a frequent guest of all things Starbucks and this is by far the absolute worst location I've been to from Seattle to Maine and everywhere in between. Now in their defense, I'd say this is the busiest Starbucks around moving 2-3 people a minute but the Baristas just take orders and shove you thru. That said, this week was the worst. 3 times in 3 days my order was "lost" between the register and the Baristas. How does that happen? I complained on day 3 and they said "we have a problem with our printer." Well fix it folks Waiting 15 minutes average for a $6 latte only to have it not come 3 days in a row is pretty sad. In the grand scheme of things, it's just a cup of coffee. On the other hand...from the worlds largest coffee house, and the world's most EXPENSIVE Coffee house, I expect more. The service here is absurdly slow. I work in CCF and have given this Starbucks many tries. No matter what the time, you're guaranteed to wait at least 20 minutes for anything more complicated than a drip. During my most recent visit, I stopped by at 2:30pm on a Friday with the boyfriend. With only 10 people in the store at the time of our order, an iced coffee and a plain latte took 25 minutes to make, all while the crowd of people waiting for their drinks grew. My latte was essentially all tepid milk, but I was too irked to go back and get my drink fixed. As a Seattle native and frequent coffee shop visitor, the speed and quality of service was simply unthinkable. It simply astounds me how a shop that serves such a high volume of people (every single day) has seemingly failed to find an efficient system. Save your time and go to Au Bon Pain! read more
