Sometimes when I Door Dash this, the strawberry is left out completely giving me iced milk. I order this twice a week x 3-4 months. I'll stand at the cash register wanting to place an order watching employees walk around, very rarely someone will call out, be right with you. On several occasions, I've walked out. When I have placed an order, my change is just flung at me. And when I ask the cashier to count it back to me, they begrudgingly do. I recently went to this Starbucks and wanted to sit outside except none of the tables were clean, drink rings, napkins, stir sticks, etc. When I picked up my order, I asked for a wet towel to wipe off my table and was told someone would come out and do it. I said thank you. An employee came out and reluctantly started wiping the tables off, not bothering to pick up the trash, just swiping it off the table onto the ground. I asked her why there wasn't a trash can outside, she commented because they are inside. Silly me for even asking that. I laugh because watching an employee set a cup down, then come back to look at the name and pick it up by grabbing the lid where potentially a customer's lips could land. Hmmm, after handling money? Yuck. But they are wearing a mask... Makes no sense. If I get good service, I'll go back and leave a tip, otherwise I won't. read more

It's a sleepy little Starbucks hidden away in the Best Buy parking lot. No drive thru and easy to miss. At 7 am on a summer weekday, the smallish lobby was filled with 10ish people, but only 1 person ahead of me in line. I counted 3 baristas, all very friendly & efficient. Staff is always friendly. Mangers and team member will sit and have a conversation with you while making your drink!! If you're a loyal customer to this location they remember you and often greet you by your name. Each time I come in I grab my order ahead, John is always saying Hello with my order in hand. Once I ordered a hot coffee by accident and told them I actually meant to order it iced, they had no qualms remaking it though it was my mistake. :) The team member Blu made it correctly with a good attitude, no charge, and he was so sweet about it! Not impressed at all. I encountered two young, twenty-something, snobbish, and clearly homophobic Hispanic employees who were judging me for my sexual orientation when I went in around 7:30 p.m. Their vibes gave me the feeling of being pushed away defensively, for fear that I would flirt with them (and so what if I would have, hypothetically? Straight people do it all the time, and part of being LGBT inclusive is to allow us to be ourselves). They need to learn how to treat gay male customers. The guy who rang up my order also seemed surprised by my health conscious questions regarding the caloric content of specific food items, and me being mindful in general, of not ordering unhealthy items. The looks and vibes were so hypercritical! Did he expect me to order unhealthy items that do not match my health needs? Why was he looking at me in such a judgmental manner? After he rang up my order, I went to the restroom, and then went to the counter to pick up my drink--only to be greeted with homophobic judgment by the two male employees. It was all in their looks and vibes, as though they didn't want much interaction with me, and just wanted me to leave--as though I was some diseased person or animal that they didn't want contact with. Needless to say, I will not be returning here ever again, and hope that corporate and/or the store manager discover this review. read more

For a long time, this Starbucks was the only one located on this side of Chico. I consider this "part of Chico" the main shopping hub of the town. So if you needed a pick-me-up before heading to Target, Costco, or the mall, this is the place to stop. Time after time, the service is consistent. Fast, friendly, and the house coffee is friggin' hot! "Room for cream?" is an understatement for the chain as there seems to be never enough room to cool it off with a few glugs of half&half. That's why I prefer their fraps and seasonal offerings. Their bathrooms are usually clean although I can't attest to the gents facilities. Maybe I'll ask the hubby next time. I consider Starbucks a treat rather than a habit. So whenever I give them my business, I expect quality. This place delivers. read more

There's some great coffee in Chico and I've never reviewed a coffee place on Yelp. What I've often found is the better the coffee, the less of a quality experience one has. In other words, the better the coffee, the less people seem to be concerned about customer service, but hey, we live in Chico, people! This particular Starbucks has an excellent staff. Hands down, the happiest and nicest people to get coffee from in Chico. Makes your day. Good coffee too! Not every Starbucks is the same. This place has some pretty great coffee! I have always been a Starbucks fan, but of all the stores I have visited, this particular one has to be the absolute best. Almost all of the baristas know and call me by name and me being a creature of habit, they already know what I want the minute I walk in the door.
