Finally they opened after years in the making the Illinois Medical District has begun. This is the perfect location and much needed. There is a parking area but no drive thru which I guess is okay. The place is pristine and has more tables behind the main area, I like that. Students will love it more, as this promises to be an awesome hang out for those who need a break fro. Libraries or in my case, office Defintely worth it to come in and get your favorite drinks and snacks in this upcoming Starbucks! The staff is really nice and they definitely know thier way around Starbucks! Welcome to the neighborhood! And remember to YELP them and show your pride my friends. I guess the Carmel macchiato venti skinny is still my drink of choice and I love that they make it perfectly all the time!

Few chain coffee stores will get 5 starts in my book but this place wins because 1) it is opening in a very underserved area which has been a food dessert for decades; 2) it sits on the far edge of the Medical District which is close to my hospital, where there is hardly anything else; 3) they are going the extra mile in their customer service: super friendly and nice, never have I had an employee shout out my name with a goodbye as I am leaving the store! 4) the design is interesting and less cookie-cutter with a little area to work behind the whole kitchen, lots of windows and light. We have a winner!

You know your neighborhood made it when it gets a Starbucks! I had heard rumors about this opening , but I just had to see it for myself. It's in convenient location, and there's a little temporary parking lot behind. The place itself is small for the the amount of customers that seek it. A couple of 2 seater tables along the windows , & a few bigger ones in the back. Either way, still a great spot to be in!

I . Was in Chicago…read morefor the weekend. Prior to arriving I read an article about the top 100 coffee shops in the world. ( see link below ). While reading I saw that Metric in Chicago was on the list. And that was the sign this place had to be a must try! Came here on a Saturday morning. I walked a few miles from downtown to the neighborhood this place is in. It is in an industrial part town of area. Kind of reminds me of the west bank of the flats area or temont type of area we have in Cleveland. The shop itself is not very big. However the coffee, is absolutely incredible. While there I met Cara . She was so friendly and knowledgeable. I mentioned that the reason for making the walk to this place was to see how it measured with award of top 100 shop. From there I got my espresso. Amazing. Just amazing! Cara also took the time explain the cupping process. And how Metric gets their beans. The educational experience for a coffee nerd like myself was . And then getting a chance to do the cupping was icing on the cake!!! I'm very glad that I got to experience this gem of a shop. I truly understand why it's top . When in Chicago, for any coffee lover/nerd. Come here. I promise you will love it!!! https://theworlds100bestcoffeeshops.com/locales/metric/

They have the best morning bagels I have ever had! Sure, I could put cream cheese, onion, tomato and cucumber on one at home but it is NOT the same! I have tried! Whatever they do to make their bagels is so much better than the store bought ones I can find. Not to mention that I love their scones! I might sound like I have a food problem but I love their morning bagels with a blueberry scone for later and top it all off with a vanilla latte. The service is always pretty quick, the staff is very friendly and if you eat there they play pretty good music. There are only like 6 seats inside but they also have an outdoor area too for summer.

They even welcomed it because they said they want to grow from it. I always come in for a cafe con leche with a jalapeño bagel with extra cream cheese! Sometimes I mix it up and get a morning bagel in a jalapeño bagel and it is so delicious. I just love the taste of the cream cheese with tomato and cucumber. Their soup is also so good. Today I got their turkey melt and broccoli soup and I loved it. The sandwich is huge and the soup is nice and thick. The veggies in the sandwich are so fresh too. They usually have a line out the door but they move through it pretty quickly.

Every sip felt like a reward for simply existing. Also tried something called "False Spring," which has carrot juice in it (I know, I had questions too). But somehow it works! It's fresh, a little sweet, and makes you feel like you've made a good life decision--even if you're just ordering coffee in pajamas. Everything arrived perfectly and tasted like someone actually cared while making it. 10/10, would absolutely order again and pretend I'm a sophisticated person with a refined palate.

It reminds me of a hotel lobby in the best way. Very open and spacious, with lots of tables and desks spread out throughout the space. The barista working helped me decide what to order. She said "iced coffee is a lifestyle" and because she was so cool I did end up ordering an iced beverage on a 10 degree day in February. I went with the dalgona iced latte. This is espresso with a housemade crumbled Korean toffee and milk. It's pretty sweet, but mighty tasty! The toffee melts into the drink to add a toasty sweetness to the latte. The food here is INCREDIBLE! I ordered a breakfast sandwich that was so good. It came with crispy potatoes that were amazing too. Cannot wait to come back and explore more of the menu!
