8-15-24 9:45 AM Drive Thru Came to this location as I needed to go to Best Buy across the street and they were not open yet. So to kill time I thought I would get a cappuccino here. The drive thru had zero line and I ordered a short cappuccino with whole milk. Note I discovered the short size earlier this Summer and I thought great idea and helps to keep the cost down. However please note the price is still nearly $5 for non descript beans. Hey my only alternative in the area. It came in a cup within another cup. Perhaps they were out of cup covers or due to the size it doesn't fit. The transaction was quick and painless as I pay from my app and they just scan it from my phone. read more

I'm a huge Starbucks fan, but this location could use some work. I understand a staffing issue, but to not open until after 7:30 and sometimes 8 is very interesting for a coffee shop. People want coffee in the morning! I wake up at 5 and I'm on my way to work at 6 and need some coffee in my system! While this one is on the way to my commute, I backtrack and go to the other Starbucks, as they're open early and their line moves quicker. I've also noticed the staff at the other location is a little more professional. I sat in the line today, as their interior is closed when I tried to go inside (the other one is open inside), and the drive-thru line did not move at all. I drove all the way to the other Starbucks quicker than I sat in the line not moving at all. Also, parking is difficult for this location as well. I would really like to see an improvement in this location and then I will update my review, but for now I've been to this location too many times and it's been pretty consistently either closed or slow. Went to this Starbucks during my travels, service was super quick and the baristas were very friendly. I didn't go in, but the drive thru was very easy and from what I could see of the inside in the window it was kept clean. My drink was amazing and my Impossible Breakfast sandwich was delicious. I love Starbucks and I love their drinks. What I don't love is this location. I ordered two grande hot beverage; the picture below is how full they were when they were given to me. Both were lukewarm, filled to over an inch below the rim of the cup, and neither had the whip cream on them that was expected. This location is small on the inside, limited seating, and when waiting for your drink the crowd can block the flow of people trying to move about. They have a drive through here, and like most Starbucks focus heavily on the drive thru business and the mobile app business. So I feel slighted some as I am the person in the store who is here and deserves to be served first. But I will never win that argument. The service here is average at best, and kind of slow on some mornings. I get the same thing, a cold brew coffee. So can't comment on the coffee or drink selection. But you know what they have here. They constantly re-arrange the set up of where chairs, tables and the stand for sugar & cream. Not sure why, guess they can't figure out the most efficient use of their space. But I come back, I love the cold brew coffee. The service is friendly and they are dedicated baristas trying to take care of their customers. So check them out. I go here whenever I need to get some work done. It's a smaller store and seats tend to be filled by 11 am or so. They do have some nice comfy chairs if you just want to kick back, have some coffee and look at your phone for awhile. I usually get a cappuccino, flat white or iced coffee with milk, so I can't comment on their food. I mobile order and the orders have always been on time and correct. The workers are pretty nice too. I've been to this location 3 times & all 3 times something was wrong. 2 times, I was given the wrong order. The lady in the drive thru is extremely slow. Takes way too long to complete order & still gets it wrong. Manager on duty is more worried about walking to his truck & smoking a cigarette. The line of people doesn't seem to bother him. This location needs a lot of work, considering it is in a very popular area. I ordered a double macchiatto and the warning signs were there when she asked what size I want. It's an espresso shot. We sat in the drive through for ten minutes waiting for them to move the cones because they had just opened, but they never moved the cones and when we drove back around they turned off the lights even though it was 6:10 and they were supposed to open at 6. This was one of the slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. We ordered two venti peppermint mocha frappucinos...probably the two worst ones we've ever had. I'm not from around here, but this Starbucks is seriously lacking. I guess I'm just used to starbucks being more friendly, more on top of things. I tried to buy a reusable cup that was on display but they said the sku was invalid. They asked if I wanted a different cup but I wanted that one specifically because I had it before (given to me as a gift so it had sentimental value) but a family member broke it. I was ecstatic that I found the same cup in a different state. They tried again and then one employee was like "oooooh maybe these were the cups we were supposed to pull from the shelves because they're glass..." You probably shouldn't have said that out loud, and regardless it was on your sales floor. If you were just going to pull them anyway, where do you put them? In the trash? There were 7 people behind me in line now. Needless to say, they didn't sell me it, not even at a discount. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered an iced vanilla bean coconut milk latte and waited quite a while for it. 6 employees back there all running around like chickens without their heads. I was given my drink and it didnt look right so i asked if the vanilla bean powder was in it, and not the syrup. I was told yes, but when I got to the door, that same employee hollered at me from behind the counter to come back because she forgot the vanilla bean powder. -__- I appreciate her adding it, as I would have been even more annoyed if I had gotten in the car and discovered my drink was incorrect. Starbucks with a drive thru, doesn't get much better than coffee to go, quick when you're in the go. During my particular visit, I was in the mood for that cozy, clean and familiar place to get a few emails out. Luckily this location satisfies both needs. They offer ample parking for walk ins and the ease of a drive through. They have a mix of small tables both inside and outside, plus some cozy leather couches if you really want to sink in. When I walked in they were busy, but the line moved quickly. They did a good job handling the influx of drive through cars and the line indoors. I ordered an iced caramel macchiato with skim milk and just a little ice. 3 minutes later, I was served exactly that (name spelled right and all). It was tasty and balanced. I asked for a cup of ice water a little later and they gladly gave me one with my coffee. I took a seat at a table inside and charged up while getting some work done. Wifi was free and fast. Starbucks is one of my "second homes" so to say. I appreciate this location because it is the only location in Bluffton with a drive thru and theres some days I just do not want to get out of my vehicle, but some days I just need to bite the bullet. This Starbucks has MAJOR issues. From ordering online to showing up to pick it up and the associates having zero clue there was even an order. To waiting in line to find out their app is not working, to get out of line to go to my vehicle to get my wallet, to coming back to an even longer line and waiting all over again because they would not hold your spot. To this store basically closing when they feel like it. I have literally seen so many signs on their door. "Low staff closed early", "inventory", "remodeling", "there's a storm", so many signs. Very unreliable. If I am driving 30 mins round trip for a drink, I would like to know the usual hours are correct. I understand that the drive thru is going to be long. Like I said it is the only drive thru location in Bluffton and Hilton Head, but I do not think 25-30 (sometimes longer) is appropriate for less than ten cars. My go to is a Strawberry Acai Refresher and at this location it is very hit or miss. Some days it taste like a $5 water and other days it is on par. This is your typical small outlet based Starbucks. I've been to better. I've been to worse. The baked goods seem semi fresh. The drinks are fairly well made. The baristas are decent. I have no complaints as they got my order right and on time. They just didn't wow me with anything. So, three stars. Just a typical Starbucks.
