A couple Saturdays ago, I was running a few errands. Once I was done, I felt like visiting a diner for lunch. I did a search and found Poached Dreams Diner in Aurora. I didn't mind driving up from Markham to check it out. It was straightforward getting here. I parked in the parking lot and walked in from what looked like the back of the diner. There's also a front door with a patio that faces Wellington Street East. I was immediately greeted by a young, enthusiast woman. I let her know that I needed a table for one. She got me to a comfortable booth by the window. The catch is that you have to watch your step to get to your seat. It's a treat when I have breakfast out. I thought that I'd be getting french toast. Well, all that changed when I saw a heading for comfort foods on the menu. Nothing makes me happier than seeing open-faced sandwiches on a menu. It was probably during my days living in Winnipeg that I fell in love with such sandwiches and at least a side. New goal: come here and have every open-faced sandwich on the menu. I got cold water to start. It was refreshing and much needed after running errands. I ordered these items for my meal: - Diet Coke (2) - Hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and veggies My Diet Coke came with a glass with ice. I loved it. I wish the can was larger! I needed a second can for dessert. I loved my hot turkey sandwich. There was a generous amount of sliced turkey smothered in sauce over a slice of white bread. I got to choose my starch. I went with mashed potatoes. There was enough gravy over the turkey that I dunked my spoonfuls of mashed potatoes into it. I loved the steamed veggies. They were perfectly cooked. They also went into the gravy. The meal was delicious. I'd order it again. I felt like dessert. I asked if there was any. Baklava with pistachios. I said yes. I thought that it would be a square or rectangle. Nope. I got a roll. Cool! It was perfect. It had the right amount of honey. It was crispy and yummy. So good! I paid my bill at the table. I tipped and then tapped my credit card. I elected to have the receipt texted to my phone, which also signed me up for its points program. Yay! I learned that this diner has been open since June 2025. I'm always late to any party because I seem to live under a rock or in a cave. I'm glad that I visited this eatery. Great food. Great service. Great! I used the washroom before I left. The women's washroom was clean and had a full-length mirror. This eatery is huge. It looks like there's a cafe for those grabbing coffee and maybe a snack before leaving. I look forward to returning for more good eats and drinks. (148)

Upon entering, the space is super spacious and clean. My friend ordered their 2 egg special with bacon, and I ordered their soup and sandwich combo ($12/13). I decided to go with their tuna salad and chicken noodle soup. Upon recommendation from our server, I also ordered their cappuccino- it was very delicious. Amazing food and great service, I would like to come back and try some of their dinners dishes.

I love the look of an old school diner. The only negative was when we had bacon it tasted very soapy which we realized later. Maybe someone that was handling it didn't wash off the soap on their hands? Not sure but was not edible. The eggs Benedict eggs could be a little more runny. But their sausage is the absolute best. I am obsessed. Soo good. And my son loves the blueberry pancakes. Overall great for young families!

I remember passing by Bunchberry Diner a few months back. I had never been there. It was time to check it out. This diner used to be Mercury Diner. It's nice that the diner tradition continues here. There was plenty of parking when I got here at 3 pm. I backed into a parking spot and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a female staffer. She asked if I was picking up takeout. Nope, I wanted the dine-in experience. She led me to a booth, which was comfortable. There were so many items on the menu that I wanted to try. This place serves breakfast till 4 pm. My server was Parmida, who was sweet and competent. I ordered these items: - Chef's morning breakfast - Diet Coke The Diet Coke was fizzy and cold. I got drink refills. It was perfect. For the chef's morning breakfast, I got my eggs over-easy. I chose sausage links and whole wheat toast. It came with home fries. I got peanut butter, jelly, and jam in preparation for my meal. It didn't take long for my food to arrive. The weird thing was that this table did not have any ketchup, but all tables around me had a bottle. I had to wait a bit for Parmida to return, so I could ask for ketchup. She apologized. She told me that she normally doesn't work this side of the diner. She immediately went to fetch a bottle of French's ketchup. Yep, this diner supports Canadian. I loved my over-easy eggs. I got three perfectly runny eggs. I smeared raspberry jam on my toast and sopped up the yolky goodness with it. I got three sausage links. They were yummy. I liked having them with ketchup. The home fries were the perfect portion. They were crispy and delicious, especially with ketchup. Prices are decent here for the portions that you get. My meal was $20 after taxes. You have the option of paying with a QR code on the bill or using the payment machine. I went with the latter and tipped with my credit card. I used the washroom before I left. It's on the right side of the eatery when you walk in. It was clean. No issues. I saw the dessert display before I left. This section was closed for dining. The desserts on plates rotated in this display. It was cool to see. It was great dining here. I'm return for more good eats. (252)

The Margherita is always a classic -- fresh, perfectly balanced, and with that amazing crust -- while the Fungi had such rich, earthy flavor and was done perfectly. Rich, chocolatey with that perfect pistachio touch -- such a unique and indulgent combination and the perfect sweet ending to the meal. The food, the quality, and the chill atmosphere keep me coming back every single time. Service is always top tier. Definitely one of my favorite spots -- highly recommend!

Ah Locale. Where do I begin?…read more I love you. Don't ever change. I have had so many great experiences here and they are one of the most consistent restaurants I've ever been to. Excellent quality food. And the ambiance is great. We were seated right by the talented musician which was fantastic. The one thing..please please tell your customers the specials! I had to ask. And good thing I did.. What we ordered: 1. Mussels on special 5/5 The sauce was spicy but not too spicy and so flavourful. The mussels were cooked perfectly. And the yummy house made bread was a delicious vehicle to soak up that sauce 2. Romeo et Giulietta cocktail and Cherry Vermilion cocktail. Both delicious and perfectly balanced. 5/5 3. Branzino: 10/5 yes. That crispy skin was soo good. Perfectly seasoned and cooked and the puree and rice and kale accompanied it perfectly. Ok I need to know. How did you do that kale?! How?! I think butter was involved but that's all I got. The best tasting kale I've ever had. 4. Paccheri al Cinghaiale: 4.5/5 My brother ordered this. It was really good just not as good as mine. 5. The salted caramel dessert. 5/5 Make sure you take your spoon all the way to bottom to get all the good stuff. Delish. I'll see you again very soon Locale. That sounds creepy but no, I'm going back again this week.

Open face smoke salmon sandwich - the sandwich is a generous size and the ingredients are quite fresh. The combination of the ingredient between the smoked salmon, pickled onion and cucumber goes well together with the bread. I wouldn't this is the best sandwich I ever had but its a good sandwich. The 3 potatoes ball are good, warm and creamy. 2. Dutch style Caesar salad - this salad tastes different than the Caesar salad I normally had. They replace the croutons with something that also looks like croutons but tastes about like couscous (I could be wrong). I liked it. The "bacon", it's replaced with some other kind of fried pork belly. It's salt with some nice pork fat, it's guilty food for me but I loved it and goes well with the salad. 3. Mushroom salad - this salad has lots of different little ingredients and makes this salad great. The mustard vinegrette goes well with this salad. I enjoyed the food very much and would visit again but the total cost is about $63 for 3 items and not cheap in my opinion. I should of ask for the itemized receipt because I don't know how much each dish cost. It would be nice for them to provide the itemized receipt without me asking. Considering the good food quality but the price is abit on the high side, I was struggling if giving a 4 or 5 stars. I would want to give 4.5, so I round up to 5 this time

Early bird breakfast is from $11-15 and available Monday to Friday from 8am - 10am Ambiance - I was the only customer on a weekday morning so it was quiet. Ample parking space in a large parking lot. It was dimly lit but I took a booth seat close to the main entrance so there was enough lighting. Service - the service was fair. I got seated quickly and was given the menu shortly after. I asked for water with no ice but I guess she misheard me. I was trying to say I haven't been to symposium before and wanted to ask for recommendations. She only heard the first part before I could finish my question. She told me all of the breakfast items are very good and left me to the menu. The breakfast special is 1 sausage, 1 bacon, 2 eggs and white toast for 6.99. She suggests a different dish on the menu, but modified, but I insist on 2 early bird specials. I ordered twice the early bird specials here, so it should be twice the portion, right? Wrong. The server/maybe owner modifies my order to be 2 bacon, 2 sausage and 4 eggs, with a single serving of potatoes. Basically, I just ordered the early bird special, but paid an extra 7.99 for 2 eggs. If there's a taboo that was broken here, it's the fact that she straight up modified the order to mark me up almost 2x. Do not recommend.
