I go to this Starbucks almost everyday and usually it great my drink is made fast but the past couple of times whoever is making the Fraps is either messing up my order or just forgetting about it all together today I waited 15 mins before I got my drink and when I received it the drink was melted and tasted like plain coffee beans and it was only made when the person at the register came and asked if we've gotten our drinks already I just wish it was a better experience hopefully next time it is. read more

Starbucks must address it's decline in quality service as store became more slum as barista struggling to serve the customer without paying attention to service or interaction.. We ordered protin drink and barista has no clue about the ingredients. Opend a small silver envelope contain lest the 5 oz of unknown poweder. .. They have no clue.. Updated my review to say there are a lot of new faces here (I have not been out in a longggg time due to being pregnant last yr and having a baby during covid now) but I stopped in for the first time about 2 months ago and the bee staff are SOOOOo SWEET!!!!! Like such a pleasant experience every time I come in! And for a while they were taking temps at the door which made me very happy to see. Generally it's kinda hard to review franchise locations since you generally receive the same quality items across all franchisees and you know what to expect going there. Thus, I don't talk about pricing, quality of food, etc. My reviews of any particular franchise location instead is solely based on hospitality and service. This Starbucks is huge compared to many other ones I've been to. There's a nice huge area for people to study or do work. For me, I like visiting here on weekends, particularly Saturday morning before getting my bagel from across the street. The people working on Saturday are very nice and hospitable. This is the best Starbucks in the city, as far as I'm concerned! The baristas are super friendly and the manager is on top of what she does! The employees really take pride in their work here. They remember so many customers' names and drink orders. They make it a personal experience for each and every customer. Although I do miss some of the old food items, I really like the new La Boulange pastries. The chocolate croissant is delicious, as well as the pumpkin cream cheese loaf! And they have the Clover machine! You can choose ANY coffee they have in the store, and they'll make you a single serving cup of it. It is rich and strong which is exactly how I like my coffee! I take frequent trips to Starbucks it's my go to coffee store. This coffee store is quite the deal for youngsters as I see many young adults come here very frequently! My experience was quite sad I usually order tall white mocha, 2 shots, 2 pumps, no whip, no foam, extra hot, stirred, nonfat milk, double cupped, with a stopper and a straw. The barista that was serving me this day she gave me FOAM yes that's right FOAM when specified NO FOAM. Was pleasantly surprised by how big this Starbucks was. The front entrance cramped between two buildings on a bustling street isn't telling. The barista was very pleasant and bubbly. She just brought a positive vibe, like she was happy to be here. With Frank Sinatra playing in the background, happy baristas, and a clean Starbucks I grabbed a seat and decided to stay for a little. Very clean location and also very convenient. A few steps from the N/W train, Broadway station stop. They also accept mobile order so you don't have to wait in line. Every time I go, there's always a semi-long line of people waiting to order their drinks. I love this location because it has a good amount of tables, chairs, counter tops, and stools. I've been unemployed since January, sitting at home gets really old really fast, and for some reason 99% of the coffee shops in astoria are openly hostile to people hanging out with their laptops. So, the fact that a sbux has finally opened just down the block from where I live has been a godsend. I've been spending at least one day a week here pretty much since it opened. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the huge windows are great for people watching, and there are lots of people with laptops often. The staff are so nice, and seem to be having a great time working here. Get here early if you want a seat, and say hi if you see me! read more

I give them 3 because most of the employees are super awesome but there are some that don't care about the health and well-being of the customers. If you are lactose intolerant or Vegan, its 50/50 chance you will get sick or are getting dairy instead of vegan milk. Numerous times I have to rush home, got sick. Either the drinks are contaminated or they don't put the right milk ordered and put regular milk instead. People can get anaphylactic shock and end up in the hospital esp if they have severe dairy and soy allergies. Please re-train your staff. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks as well. Lots of outlets and places to sit. It was definitely a lifesaver when Comcast decided they wanted to take a month to install my cable and internet. The staff is really nice here and so are the people who come here. It seems to be a lot of students, most grad students who come to study here. Despite the fact I'm 1/2 a block from a Dunkin' Donuts, sometimes I just need my Starbucks fix, to the point I'll get off the subway one stop sooner since this location is so clutch in comparison. Not to mention they're right next to my gym - although that could be a double edged sword, depending upon how you look at it. Definitely feel it was needed since the only other SB is "all the way" over on Steinway and not my ideal spot. The service is always friendly and generally fast. When it comes to Starbucks, there's not many complaints you can make: retail behooves poor service, poor interaction with customers, and stressed out employees. However, there are things you cannot mess around with in an establishment that serves food. If I order a drink with non-dairy milk, it's because I can't consume it, not because I want to make your life harder. So when the (I presume the manager, she was helping the other baristas) of this location responded by scoffing when I asked for soy milk in my latte, I found this a problem. From the get-go, she had a poor attitude towards customers ahead of me in line, and didn't seem too excited to take my order. When I placed my order, she didn't put in "Soy" in the order, and when I corrected her, she scoffs and rolls her eyes? After this, she asked me if I wanted anything to eat, and when I asked her for non-dairy options, she rolled her eyes again. I wouldn't be surprised if non-dairy and dairy milks were frequently swapped at this location, and I advise anyone with allergies to watch out for this manager! The other employees have never had this sort of attitude towards me. Sorry my food allergies are an inconvenience, I won't be coming back, and will choose any of the other Astoria Starbucks that treat me and other patrons better. read more

Was not that busy, but waited patiently for 10mins til the barista was less occupied to tell her that my drink order was incorrect & she proceeded to tell me that I should've spoken louder even though the cashier charged me exactly for what I ordered, so clearly my volume wasn't a problem. Barely a three star review. But what makes this typical Starbucks a three star spot is its convenience being close to my gym, the train, and where I live. Other than that, the internet/wi-fi here is ludicrously slow. Even if you're there insanely early in the morning it's still slow and I've connected to this wi-fi with three different computers and none of them really connected. In addition to that it also gets insanely packed here. Good luck finding a spot to shit close to lunch time and then after lunch time. There also seems to be regulars here who take over the seats for hours on end. It's to be expected, but it'd be cool if they'd at least increase the wi-fi speed in the case you're actually lucky with finding a seat and intend to go online. The baristas are nice for the most part. The whole wrong name thing isn't a big deal. But there was this one time one of the baristas gave me the nastiest attitude about her asking me if I wanted my lemon pound cake warmed up. I never asked for it to get warmed up...so why were you trippin' about the iced glazed part melting? I never asked for it to be warmed up. But they're nice for the most part. Lastly, it'd be nice if there was some more space too. It just feels so cramped in there. Oh wait, the pastries and food there is way overpriced. But I guess we should all expect that from one of the largest chains in North America. You're better off getting your pastries from the slew of local stores within a few blocks. read more
