Service is always friendly, i got a pedicure today and the attention to detail on the nail care was outstanding and the massage was also legit! I gel polish is an extra $10 which is better than most other places that charge $15 extra. The polish never chips from here when I do gel and it lasts until I get my next pedi. Gordon is always so friendly and finds the perfect shade of red when I want to do a red (Ferrari red is my favorite!). I always go for the #2 pedi which includes callus removal and an orange sugar scrub, after gel it comes to $55! I also like that i saw Gordon take his tools after another pedicure he was doing for someone else and put them in the sanitizer machine. ***ZERO STARS IF I COULD*** I'm so upset. I've been going to star nails for over a year and have always been fairly happy with the results. This is my birthday month, so when I went in, I had a color print out of the nails that I wanted. I asked Vikki before she even started if she could duplicate those nails. It involved large flake glitter. She assured me she could and my pedicure, fill, and gel manicure with the glitter would cost $82. After she put the base coat on, she got out some janky fine grain glitter that she was going to use on my nails. It would not have looked anything like the photo I brought in, that she assured me she could duplicate. I asked her if she had the large flake glitter, and she said no, they don't stock it. She didn't have large glitter in any color. She then said that my services would actually cost more than what she had quoted earlier. Apparently, she told me she could do it because she didn't want to lose the service. She lied to me and ripped me off. I'll never go back again. I'm so hurt. The way she did my nails look like something you would see on a prostitute. It's so embarrassing. I'm stuck with this gel manicure for my birthday and Christmas now. Thanks a lot, you crooks! I was living in CDA until I moved to the valley. I went to Valentino's but they ended up giving me mold under my nails. So I went back to my usual iSpa nails in CDA and saw Joe. He told me to come here and see Gordon. I tried calling but the phone wouldn't go through so I just walked in. Someone else ended up doing my fill and they did fine but the gel was not doing good and I had already come in once to fix it. All my nails ended up peeling and I wasn't very happy, so I came back in just wanting to get them removed. Gordon happened to be here this time and he said he would take care of me. I got all my nails soaked off and a new set and he did an amazing job. I had to pay again basically a week later after getting them done but I would have gone somewhere else and gotten them done. Wow, my normal place was booked for hours and with my only day off at risk I went here to get JUST my nails painted w/gel nail polish. I waited for probably 15 minutes, and when I was sat down the nail tech stood in front of me for an additional 5 minutes w/o acknowledging me. She finally sits down, on the phone and sticks her hand out for my hand, I told the person on the phone when I scheduled the apt, and then again when I walked in, I dont want shaping, nothing just paint. She kept trying to file my nails, I did need one that I broke on the way here I needed to be filed but she was definitely acting weird about this. I wash my hands and sit down the gel paint, she puts on the first layer and tells me to put my hand in the UV machine, I slowly slid my hand into it and she rushingly tells me "all the way" just didn't want to mess up my base layer, followed by "have you ever been here??" I laughed and said, just not here. Treating me like I have never been to a salon before was kind of offending, followed by her telling me EVERY layer "in there, switch" like it wasn't the same the first three layers.. That was just the experience, after properly tipping and leaving I inspected them some more and I can tell they will be falling off or lifting very soon, shown in the pictures, you can tell it was very rushed and low quality work. The polish is pooled near the cuticle of nearly every nail, which is a huge sign of it lifting early. Will update my review during the week with the polish. Sad this experience could have been quick and amazing and instead I was belittled and rushed through due to needing a simple product. read more

I loved this place. I've been all over Spokane trying to find a good place to go. I showed her a picture and she did exactly what I wanted. Unlike other salons in Spokane; she didn't charge me extra for shaping or for the extra color on the ring finger. As I'm sitting here, waiting for my appointment, I realized I've never written a review! I feel like a bad client. I've been coming here for 4 years, and there's a good reason why. I travel for work, and have gotten my nails done all over the country. No one does it like they do. They always get exactly what I want, and they helped me figure out what that was in the beginning. I come in twice a month religiously, and since the beginning, they have known my name, my kids names (I bring the girls in every once in awhile for a pedi/mani), they ask about my family, who also comes here, and they genuinely care about my life. Worst nail job I have ever had and will never go back there ever again! My daughter and I went in for a pedi and were given a menu, laminated, with all the options. As we were sitting there, the older lady was trying to push number whatever on us, to which I said sure, maybe we will do a number 4. I go about 2-3 times a year for a pedi, really for the foot massage and thought it would be nice to have a mani too this time. Its my daughters spring break and we were trying to have some fun. As I chose that option she looked at the menu and got mad, started going off in Vietnamese to the younger technician. It was obvious she was upset given the inflection in the tone, with attitude. This went on for 5-10 mins as she tried to upsell up into another number on the menu. She got polish all over, supposed to be a massage- they didnt do the lower leg massage at all for either of us. I was afraid to say anything she was so abrupt and rude, angry already, and continued to be aggressive speaking to the other tech who was maybe her daughter or? a younger relative. The younger girl was trying to ignore her. It was really akward. Mani was terrible. She got polish all over my daughters toes and finger nail cuticles. My polish has bubbles all over in it and now 2 days later peeling and chipping off. I work in an office, and that shouldnt happen this early! Spent $75 which was supposed to $70 for both of us, basic polish and such.. I even tipped them both because I felt bad for the younger girl- I regret bc now its all peeling! read more

I did the option that included a nice scub. I went in on a Saturday, today is Monday and my gel manicure just peeled off. Needless to say I'm disappointed. This is the second time this happens. I came to this shop for a relaxing pedicure. Instead, I received a very rushed and painful experience. The nail tech Vicky cut my cuticles very quickly and was not gentle around the corners of my big toes. She ended up cutting me pretty badly actually. She asked if it hurt, and I said yes! Yes! After telling her for a third time, and she kept cutting- I told her to stop because it was bleeding. I've a hundred pedis probably and I've never had this happen. (Also, I think I saw her sanitizing the tools while my feet were soaking but after she used the tools, she put them in what looked like an unsanitized box, then reused them on me again. Im not sure if this practice is correct, and I'm concerned.) The massage was just about 2 mins long, and the polish was not good. Toward the end of my experience, a gentleman rolled up in a riding lawnmower- yes you heard me right. A lawnmower. And parked just outside the doors on the sidewalk. The owner greeted him as if he was a friend, and this guy proceeded to talk loudly about how the police almost shot him and towed his lawnmower. The nail tech owner and her husband were engaging in this conversation. Yeah- I left as quickly as I could because this was just not the vibe I was looking for. I don't normally leave negative reviews because I realize this is probably a family owned company trying to make a living, but since the tech didn't listen while she proceeded to cut me, and then defended it.. I have been getting my nails done for many years and I was not impressed at all with this salon. I brought my mom for the first time ever to get a pedicure and it was not an enjoyable experience. We felt rushed because other people came in after us and my mom was the last to be worked on and was done before my sister was. That's not acceptable. We paid the same amount of money as everyone else. Also, my mom dropped a bottle of polish and broke it ( it's happened to me before) and she offered to buy the bottle. They acted like we committed a huge crime and kept bringing it up all through the service. Accidents happen and it was offered to be paid for. And the sketchiest part was when I went to pay with my card I was asked "no cash on you?" That to me was incredibly rude to ask. It started turning dark red then purple... My friend got acrylics with white nail polish and days later the white nail polish turned black and yellow and then she got the same infection as me. I went to this nail salon for over 5 years and had mixed emotions about quitting. But I got so tired of being over charged by the owner Vikki. I would be sitting beside another customer and we would both say what we wanted, and almost every time, I would be charged $6-8 more for identical services, and one customer even commented on th fact and Vikki just looked at her and then stared at me like "so, you going to pay or not?" So that was the last time! And I'm a good tipper, most times leaving at least 25% or more cause I feel they're hard workers. I absolutely love Gordon, the husband, cause he never did that and one time defied his wife and when I went to the counter to pay, he charged me the REAL price and not what his wife said and then winked. And I've heard from a couple other woman who went there, they started having the same experience after they became a regular customer. Went in to have my acrylic nails taken off. The previous nail salon didn't fill my nails correctly and I had a small amount of mold on my nail, so I decided to take my nails off. I will never go to Star Nails again. Instead of soaking the nails off, which is the correct way to remove them, they took a nail tip and pried my nails off. To top it off I started with a pedicure with gel polish and 2 designs, remove the acrylics, a manicure with gel polish, they charged me $80, not sure how it added up to that amount but I just wanted out of there.
