I've given this place a couple chances with 3 different nail techs, but unfortunately the quality isn't good. Here is a close up of how my toenails were painted. My nails actually had bumps in them I think from one of the two prep coats and I was told that it was a new sand effect... what bothered me about this is I'm not that dumb and I've actually had what the tech was trying to tell me done before and it was not in fact the "sand" effect. I picked out a normal gel so that was disappointing she tried to think I was a fool and would go for that. Super nice girl, but that totally ruined it for me. The gel polish was also put all the way on my skin so you can see where it's already lifting. After I said I knew it wasn't what she said it was because I had got them done like that before she said if I had time she could redo them, but at this point I was really uncomfortable and needed to leave. The other disappointing thing was that I chose an OPI that had a matching gel and regular polish, but they don't match at all. I would've loved to bring this up to their attention as well, but I already felt like anything I said I would've been give an excuse and then been a "problem" so I left. It's unfortunate when a service you pay for isn't done correctly, but you can't speak up in a respectful manner without getting attitude or excuses or made to feel like you're a picky customer. read more

Just moved to EP & have been following this salon on IG for a while. I was excited to finally come here. I look forward to getting my nails done but at the time, I only needed a pedicure. Salon was nice and clean. Jennifer was really nice and sweet. The lady who did my gel manicure left bumps after two coats of color and after I brought it up she added another layer of color to blend them in. As she was doing the manicure she cut me in two fingers and at the end when she was filing them she went over and messed up the gel. Not even two weeks later the gel is lifting and chipping. Overall it seemed like she wanted to leave and when two more customers walked in she made a comment "oh no". I will not be returning. read more

They're good (period). I easily have a dozen nail shop reviews. I can be extremely particular. The shop is clean, and the techs are nice, trained and thorough. In addition they are up to date on styles, colors and trends. The chairs are bomb. I'm just here for it all. One of my pet peeves is a rushed pedicure. Today they were extremely busy; so much so they asked us to return in 40 minutes. Once we sat down they moved quickly but nothing about the pedicure felt rushed. Every detail was still considered. I once got a pedicure here last year and it was great, last month I went in for a gel manicure and it was everything that I wanted in technique and form. Kenny was my nail tech and he did an amazing job, I've worked in a reputable nail salon in Austin and there's a certain way of applying gel nails and he did exactly that. He was efficient, precise and did not rush doing my nails. I know it sounds silly, but if you're going to pay to have your nails done, it really does have to be done right. Everyone seems to have really good reviews for this place, so my experience is probably not a very common occurrence so please take that into consideration when reading this but I did not have an enjoyable time there today. They got the color I picked out wrong twice, and the man doing my nails spoke very little English so it was very hard to communicate to him that it was the wrong gel color. He kept burning my skin with the nail drill and when I would flinch because of it he would give me an angry look and yank my hand. This Salon was pretty good and I loved the nails the tech did for me. The wait can get long because a lot of people like to come here which is not their fault, but I got there just in time where I was seen immediately before it got busy. Everything was done in a good amount of time. The only issue there was, was that me and my fiancé both got our toes done, and with getting your toes done that give you a leg message with the type of pedi of your choosing. My fiancé chose one that had minty stuff in it, and again everything was fine until the next day. I believe she had some sort of reaction to the stuff they used and caused her to have red bumps all over her legs and they became a bit painful, red, and infected and really itchy. The bumps are barely starting to go away now and it's been about a week later. It could of been just a allergic reaction but she's not known to have one getting her toes done. But just be aware if you might have sensitive skin or might be allergic to mint stuff. But besides that, the place was great. read more

My nail tech was KENNY and as soon as he saw my previous nails he said "too thick" in my head I was like YES! I finally found someone who understood how I want my nails. In love with this salon! It has become my go to salon. I have been to every nail salon on Mesa and this one is #1. Very efficient, experienced, and polite staff. I usually get a full set and they come out so beautiful and symmetrical every time. For me it's $30 flat for removal of previous set and full set with regular polish. Be sure to confirm the prices and ask about fees. For example there is a $5 fee to remove previous set, and the same fee for gel polish and getting long nails. Should be no stars! Worst time management skills. I booked an appointment for 3:45 and did not get serviced till 4:15. Thats a 30 min wait for an appointment is that correct to wait for an already booked appointment!? Of course not. They had me sit in the pedicure tub waiting. During that time i almost fell asleep and the water started to get cold thats how long the wait was. All the while everyone was looking and saying i needed to be serviced but no one did anything about it. What should have been a 30 min appointment ended up being an hour and a half. At the registrar the lady kept apologizing, but i was just had the face of complete disappointment. I mention they need to work on timing. If you cant service on time don't book and certainly don't keep on taking customers as if you have the time. No tip and i wont be coming here again. read more

I went to Star Nails because I saw their work on Instagram and they get great ratings. Well what I got was nothing like their pictures and the reviews were wrong. I had my child with me and no one seemed the mind as she was quiet. They told me to sit in the chair and that a man would be there shortly. The man started on my nails and he was doing great. My nails were being shaped perfectly and everything then all of a sudden and older woman told him to leave and she started to do my nails. When I asked why she said " you have a baby you need to leave." She did my nails so sloppy and nasty. I kept telling her they needed to be fixed and she said " no because you need to leave." When she asked what color I said I wanted just a plain pink. When i said that she went to my mother (we went together) and asked her to pay for my nails so i could do something better since "i have a baby." Funny how I needed to leave because of my baby and now she wanted me to spend more because I had my baby. Needless to say I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. This was last week and my set has already fallen off. They are extremely unprofessional and they don't do as good as a job as they claim and post online. read more
