Poor quality. Got a dip manicure and within two days, it was chipping off, which should not happen with dip. It's more expensive and honestly a regular manicure would have lasted longer than this did. For $58 not including tip, I have to go get these redone. So far, 5 of my 10 nails are chipped. I went in as a new client. I wanted new gel nails. The girl that worked with me spoke very poor English. She pointed at a couple shorter nails and said "tips?" So I said yes on the short ones if it's necessary. Next thing I know she clipped all my nails short and now has to do tips on all. In the end...she gave me acrylic nails w a gel paint. Charged me $75! Which was WAY more than I expected! So now I'll have to remove them elsewhere and have the correct thing done! I used to be a frequent customer (once a month) for years but the last 3 times I've been it hasn't been the same. Every time I got a pedicure they usually make me bleed (by ripping out ingrowns, which you aren't supposed to do that) and I always felt rushed even though there weren't many people waiting. I liked coming here because I would get the dip and it would last a long time. The last 3 times I went, while the tech was taking off the dip on my hands, it burned. I told my tech, and she would apologize and then do it again. By the 3rd time, the techs were laughing at me by this point. Between making my toes bleed and then burning my nails, I have not been back. I'm not sure if there was a change in ownership, or the ladies are burnt out but for an $85 dip manicure and pedicure I deserve not to bleed or be laughed at. Went to Star Nails for my first professional pedicure in more than year (thank you, COVID!) and nearly fainted when the tech finished up and told me I owed $48! Forty-eight bucks for a regular-polish pedicure! She did sell me the upgraded pedi for "$8 more," but either she made a mistake and charged me for a full mani-pedi or Star Nails has significantly jacked up their prices. So, with tip, my nothing-to-write-home-about pedicure set me back $58, and I'll go elsewhere next time. read more

Got my nails done here 3 days ago and now have a huge crack in my nail. Wasn't happy with them to begin with because they could've used more coats. You can see right through the paint. First time at Star Nails and probably my last. The nail technician was in such a rush, total time in chair was 10". My nail beds are destroyed after being dremeled so much that it actually hurt. My nails were wrapped in foil and acetone for 2 minutes tops which didn't help removing the gel. I think she used a cuticle pusher to get the remaining gel off. The techs were all incredibly friendly and did an amazing pedicure on both myself and my 11 year old for our day together! My manicure was based on an IG picture and turned out AMAZINGLY! New favorite salon- Vivian was AMAZING! (Although I WISH we could normalize referring to these wonderful women by their actual BEAUTIFUL names!) To the young woman, ANIMAL more like, that had a meltdown in the salon while we were there- even my daughter could recognize how rude and RACIST you were being. Nail stylist did not speak any English which I am typically very understanding about but she wasn't able to understand what oval nails were and by the time she got it, my nails had been cut down to nothing. Went to Star Nails last week for dip manicure, pedicure and eye brow waxing, cost $100.00 + $20.00 tip I gave to the tip. The next day my nails starting cracking. Since I work all week I could not return until today (1 week later). By this time, my nails were all broken and cracked. They were even crack in areas were the top coat of polish was still intacked. I showed them to the girl when I arrived and they immediately said they remembered me and that should not have happened. One woman said "I remember, you got a wax as well. You sat over there". She continued to show other techs my nails and discussed how that was not professional. How she would fix it. I had a pedicure again as well, so my nails and toes would match. I figured they would just charge me for my pedicure but when done she said "next time you call sooner and we will fix". She charged me $70.00. Stopped in with a friend to get a pedi before I left Mass. While they were nice and fast, it wasn't the best pedicure I've gotten. I was wearing sandals which should reduce smearing, but whatever polish technique they utilize isn't good because an hour later (even after being extra careful and sitting under the dryer for a long while) both big toes were smeared. I thought maybe I'd messed something up until I went to a different place last week for a pedi and have managed to keep this on without a single smear or chip and I only sat under for 15-20 mins max. This *was* my "regular" nail place. We (my pal and best pedi buddy Wend) would go here every month or so for pedicures, sometimes manicures, too. They were always able to take us right away, they did a great job, and were super quick, which is awesome. But the last few times we've come here, we've left with prettier toes, but a little disappointed. Here's the deal; The ladies that work here have become incredibly, uncomfortably pushy. I totally get that they need to hawk a mani on you while you're getting your pedi, but no means no, ladies! It's fine when they ask once, but after the fifth time of being asked, I get the teensiest bit annoyed. Back off, sister. I like my chewed up, sad nails, a-thank you. The quality seems to have slacked off, too. I seriously almost got burned by the scalding tub of water *It was HOT! I may be exaggerating about a degree burn, but an "OW!" actually slipped out of me!*. Then, my poor friend felt like she was being assaulted when half a dozen women, yelling *which is best described as colorfully* in perhaps Korean and flailing towards her quickly, unbeknownst to Wendy that her tub was starting to overflow. She was pretty much scared s**tless. And to top off this calming, relaxing experience, the pedi itself was just not up to their past standards. We were bummed. (Though, I am in love with "Who are you wearing" from OPI. Great color!!) Although they do a way better pedi here than I would ever be able to do on myself, I guess I'll have to start searching for my new "regular" perfect nail place. okay i've never posted on here but i had a really bad experience last week. i had to go to work after my appointment so i wasn't able to have her fix my nails once they were done, but the color wasn't evenly applied and after they dried it seemed like there were a lot of air bubbles or something? I'm not sure but since last thursday i've removed the nail polish. the real reason I'm here is because ive developed two ingrown nails after my manicure which have been very painful. i've never had one before so to have two after a manicure a week ago is crazy. i feel really bad writing this review but it was a very disappointing experience read more

My nails were rough when I left and the polish wasn't even to the tip of my nail!! Stopped in for a gel manicure (by appointment) with a friend. There was polish caked up underneath my nails that I had to pick out right after she was done. Before I could get back from washing my hands from that they had seated someone else (with my purse wide open and my stuff still at the station). Given my friend was still mid mani and someone else was in my seat I was forced to go sit out front and wait (defeats the fun in getting nails done "together"). They weren't busy I should also note (understandable if they were but also let me get my stuff first please..). Great if you're in a hurry? Not if you want to relax. And a sub par paint job. Accommodating, clean and welcoming star nails is convenient and well priced. I have shown up on a weekend and gotten in with four other people without an appointment. Greeted with a smile and offered refreshment while we waited which less then five minutes. It was busy but I still felt catered to. The staff took care of my daughters making them feel special. This made me relaxed which is the whole point. I had an appointment at Lexi's salon up the street and unfortunately when I arrived I was not accommodated. I give his place three stars because I think that's what they honestly deserve. They do an okay job. When you're done, your nails definitely look good, but they won't last you until the next day. They do a very quick job so if you're in a hurry They're good for that. But if you want quality they wouldn't be my first choice. They're fairly inexpensive as well, but again, you get what you pay for. Staff of relatively friendly, if they talk to you. Overall, it's just your average nail place. Good enough for a same day event kind of thing, but don't get your nails done here for your vacation next week. read more

Today was my first time at Star Nails and I am very happy I found this place! It's a brand new space and all new chairs. The staff is so nice. Tracy gave me a pedicure and waxed my eyebrows. She did an amazing job and I will definitely ask for her next time. I have super sensitive cuticles so pedis can be painful for me, but not this time. Tracy is very gentle and does a great pedi!
