Back in January I scheduled an AutoCAD certification exam in this school, and this is a HUGE, beautiful community college. One of my high school friends used to go there before transferring to CPP- they offer lots of programs including engineering, arts, and science. The library is really nice and big too way larger than other schools- and they have more up to date and clean classrooms and facilities. Even the bungalow building on the east side of campus is old, but they renovated the inside including the testing center- even though I didn't pass the first attempt of my AutoCAD exam, the proctor marina still ensured I had a great experience with the certification exam process. She understands that I needed accommodations from ACCESS even as a guest coming from a different school that needs to take AutoCAD exam there as my school doesn't offer Pearson VUE testing- so she helped plan it ahead and allowed me to bring my snacks and water for the test breaks. She still remained positive even if my exam didn't go well and overall with the services the school provides including the basic needs center they do a lot of great things for the students, even if you aren't a Mountie you can visit and appreciate the sculptures that are all there- my favourite is the friendship stone :)

My family has been dealing with an absolute bureaucratic nightmare for 3 months since June trying to resolve a simple in-state residency classification for my son. Both parents are permanent, lifelong California residents, and we provided every single piece of documentation required by school and state law. Despite this, the frontline office staff completely misinterprets the California Education Code, incorrectly questions age requirements, and rejects valid proof. The worst part is their stalling tactics. Every time you go down to the office in person or upload a document, they tell you it takes 2 weeks to review. Then, when the 2 weeks are up, they claim they need "one more thing" just to reset their internal clock and buy themselves time. It is a never-ending runaround that forces local residents to be illegally overcharged out-of-state tuition rates. The campus is facing severe internal friction and management gaps right now under the current leadership, and it completely shows in how poorly trained and unresponsive the student support desks have become. Do not let them string you along--escalate your issue to the Dean or a Vice President immediately if you want anything done.

She told me I needed to go there in person and ask for their "permission" to get a refund when I pick it up and asked why I wanted a refund. I don't think they understand that I am NOT picking up the book because I do not need it. Customers should be able to to process refunds via email or over the phone, NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

However one lady (looked to be the manager) seemed to be not quite up to par - she told my friend there are no returns on a lab manual that I also purchased, but my cashier told me nothing of the sort. They also don't check prices for you on the books over the phone. Which means they should then list it online, but they don't do that either. Really a hassle when I want to compare prices real quick without having to run over there. Overall it is an ok store and is definitely a less hostile environment than Day and Nite.

The materials they use are from the company "publisher" who write these exams. So, they hit two birds with one stone. The extra materials I asked for proved helpful for my SAT prep, AP test scores, and even my usual school assignments. My HS2 counselor was extremely supportive and a great guide. When I was at my lowest during quarantine, she didn't make me feel worse for my bad performance. She supported me throughout the experience, and I was able to recover my grades and mental health. All of my questions were answered, and many helpful suggestions were provided. She helped me explore my options, as well as what would be the best fit for me! Many opportunities were opened up to me--some were provided by HS2 directly (such as college courses over the summer, or community service programs) while others were suggested. I would have never thought of asking my neighbors who owned a beauty clinic to ask for a summer internship, or to start my own custom-painted bookmark non-profit. These were all valuable learning experiences for me, and provided the content I needed to paint my personality through my essays. It's been so nice watching them grow, learn, and become comfortable and confident at school. I like the curriculum that they offer and am impressed with how much my daughters learn each day. I also love that they offer so many extracurricular activities.
