This is my 16th summer being contracted with Montessori of Walnut as an extracurricular program owner, and I can still say I truly love it here and am continually impressed with every aspect of the school, staff, and students alike. The kids are happy and well-adjusted, thanks to the routines the school implements in each class, making it comfortable for all students to know what to expect. Little kids thrive on routine and organization, and if you want your child to be a happy, well-adjusted human, I highly recommend Montessori of Walnut. Since my last review, I have added a second program to the school called Active Youth, a sports & fitness extracurricular program. Active Youth has been contracted with Montessori of Walnut since 2012, and I have been fortunate to teach the kids at this school year-round. I love teaching my programs here for many reasons: the school grounds are immaculate and spacious, and the staff is super friendly and inviting not just to the students and their parents but also to me. The students I have had the pleasure of teaching here since 2009 have been incredibly happy and well-adjusted. They listen very well, which is a testament to how effectively their classroom teachers are doing their jobs. This is a great school that your child would be lucky to attend.

My daughter is an advanced learner who loves challenges and new experiences. Ms. Lauren has been incredibly accommodating and patient with her, always providing new tasks that match her learning pace, which has significantly boosted her confidence. Although my daughter eats the school lunch daily, she told me that the teachers also help warm up food for the children in the microwave. The principal is very caring, going out of their way to help us and offering insightful advice on child education from our perspective. We are thankful to MOW for writing a recommendation letter that helped us secure a spot at our desired gifted magnet school.

Best school around town for your little ones to start their journey away from home. Looked and tried everywhere around the hacienda Roland walnut diamond bar area, none can compare! The school is incredibly clean and budget friendly. Staff is awesome and takes great pride in taking great care of the kids. Both of our older kids miss it all the time and always share their stories with their baby brother, who is current attending.

My kid loves her teacher . Good ratio of few students to teachers . Big classrooms . Kindness towards the kids. You can tell they care.

This is a wonderful place to have your kids enrolled in. The facility is spotless and always SO clean. It's impressive how spotless the place is. There's never even stains in the rollout carpet. The teachers are always making sure the areas are spotless. Teachers look very professional as they all wear matching green aprons and uniforms. I have a total of three kids come through this school. I love that the older kids will have weekly homework that is voluntary that you can participate in. My kids were way ahead academically than kids from Other schools (recognizing letters/ writing their name=because they practiced on homework every week) etc. I love the homework packet allows me to sit with my daughter and work with her on things she is learning about at school. The director is very experienced and runs a well oiled ship. Even when she is not there I know my concerns and questions are addressed by staff. This place is family, owned and operated and not commercial. We have toured over six other schools, both commercial and privately owned. This place has the most space and is the most clean and has great square footage. The play equipment is kept in good working order. The bathrooms That potty train my little one has at least six toilets at a time rather than some of the other facilities we looked at that only had two or less for all the kids. They provide optional lunch that you can purchase, which a lot of the other facilities do not. This is very handy as I'm a very busy working Mom, and dad is busy as well. I think the most important is that the Director hires really good quality teachers that really love the kids and are always smiling and show so much patience. They do not seem overworked they do not have tattoos. They dress very professional. I think the kid to teacher a ratio is always very good for the space that the kids are running around and I never feel like my child is pinned in a small, cramped room. I never feel that my child is in a yucky dirty space with stains on the carpet and crumbs everywhere. They have a really cute communal library. That's always very organized and kept so neat. They go of their way to take seasonal photos with Santa or mermaid day and send them home on occasion. No extra fee. They are friendly . They always let you know if your kid was injured and you never have doubt of child safety. Well organized. It is worth me driving an 2 hours total (30 min there and 30 min back home) each day. We have since moved far away and only wished that we lived closer rather than further from this special school so distance traveling there has been harder for us . We love MOW. We will stay as long as possible.

There are several things that I really appreciated: **The staff & teachers are all very warm & caring with the kids as well as understanding & informative with the parents **The facility is the cleanest of all the preschools I toured **Lunch is not served on styrofoam plates - I know this is a common thing among preschools, but it really bugs me...Creekside's lunches are served in sectioned aluminum trays that help keep the food warm until it gets to the kids **They potty trained my daughter! I'm sure every kid is different but they did so well with her that we didn't have to do anything except maintain what they taught at home **Despite what their one 1-star Yelp review complained about, I felt my daughter was totally kindergarten ready - I've attached pictures of her report card to share all the topics that are included in their academic curriculum **Super cute holiday activities & awesome summer onsite field trips (which we appreciate for safety reasons) & this year they've started an annual recital! **Optional weekly homework to enhance what they've learned (only takes about 10 minutes to finish all pages) Note on access: Previously, you could only drop off your kid at the front door due to COVID, but now you get a key fob to open the door & walk your kid in. A Preschool Filled with Heart and Faith!…read more Kid Junction has truly been such a blessing to our family. Our oldest daughter started here when she was just two and a half, and now our second daughter has gone through the same journey -- and we're already excited to send our youngest soon! What makes Kid Junction so special is the people. Every teacher pours so much love, time, and intention into the kids. They create fun, hands-on activities, celebrate holidays with so much joy, and keep parents updated every step of the way. You can tell this is a place where faith and care guide everything they do. Both of our girls had Miss Sandy, who is truly the best person to care for 2-year-olds -- patient, nurturing, and full of joy. Then they had Miss Susan, who is the sweetest! She helps build confidence in each child and makes every day special (my daughter loves when she pulls out her spray bottle and hair ties to give her a cute little hairstyle!). We also adore Miss Eileen, who does a wonderful job preparing the kids for Kinder she's a TK teacher -- she's caring, creative, and the children can't wait to be in her class. And Miss Belinda made those early toddler days so special with fun morning activities that set the tone for a happy day. We loved it so much that we decided to keep our daughters here for TK instead of going to elementary because we knew they would get the care and elevated education prior to going to Kinder. My daughters assessment going into kindergarten, she scored very high on the skills for this grade. It was an easy transition and she thought kinder was too easy she kept asking for more hw!! And holding it all together is Miss Clara, director -- she has the most tender heart and genuine love for children. We've known her for five years now, and her care shines through in everything she does -- her communication, the way she supports the teachers, and the way she continues to check in and send us updates. Overall I'm always blown away how clean everything is! So organized and clean which demonstrates the teachers diligence in providing a safe and modeled classroom. We are so thankful for Kid Junction. It's more than just a preschool -- it's a loving, faith-filled community that feels like family.

The more time I have spent at my current daycare, I realize how sad I feel when I reflect back on when he was going here. This daycare is not nearly as warm as the daycare where my son spent his last 2 years. I remember when we first dropped off my son at this daycare, he was so scared and would cry a lot from the anxiety of leaving his parents. One of the suggestions that Ms. Toni said was not to carry him into the daycare and let him walk in. I'm not sure if this advise was to maybe make him less scared, but when I think back on that advise and how small my son was back then, it really makes me mad to even think that I took that advise as helpful. At 2 years old, a parent should definitely not feel like they can't carry their scared son into their first daycare. I also remember Ms. Toni commented that my son was constantly wanting to sit on Ms. Kat's lap and that she couldn't have him do that so often. When I see the kids in my current daycare, kids are on the laps of the teachers all the time and all day, especially if they need some comfort since they are showing anxiety being away from their parents. This school was so callous compared to the school that my son is currently at and I remember how scared he always felt when going there, which makes me sad and the reason why I'm writing a 2nd review. I also mentioned in an earlier review that I hated dropping off my son in the morning due to one of the teachers (Ms. Wafaa). She was always so rude to me, which made me worry about my son having to spend the morning with her. I hope she's no longer there, but if she is, she really needs to improve her demeanor. It's always hard to know how bad someplace is until you leave and go someplace else, so I'm glad we only stayed here for one year.

If they had been able to add second grade, we would have stayed longer. My previous comments about the school still stand true, but after almost two years I've seen even more accomplishments. I'm so proud of the growth and progress I've seen from her, in the pride she takes in her work and how much she enjoys being a leader. Her teacher, Mrs. Quintero, fostered those traits in her. I see how cherished my child and her classmates are here. My daughter is reading on her own, does math without even realizing it, and has gained many more life skills and good habits. Thank you to all the teachers (guides) and staff here for making the last two years a joy. Be prepared for us to visit!

My son attended LiMai for a little over a year. During that time, the only feedback we consistently…read morereceived from his teacher, Ms. Gabriel, was that he was popular with classmates and very bright--consistent with our observations at home. However, one morning I was called in an hour after dropping my son off and informed that my 4-year-old was being suspended for two days due to rough play (scratching and pinching) that had occurred over the previous week--not that day. This came as a surprise, as they only mentioned anything to me 1 hour earlier at drop-off & they seemed content that we would talk to him about his behavior after school. They had him 100% of the time between informing me & then suspending him, and he behaved during that time. Additionally, one of the front office directors, Ms. Quintero, put on a show of scolding him publicly on his way out--right in front of the other child's mother, without introducing her. While I don't doubt he was testing boundaries through rough play, we were caught off guard by the lack of communication and sudden escalation. A simple conversation beforehand would have aligned more closely with common-sense approaches and even LiMai's own disciplinary policy, which outlines progressive steps before suspension. It appeared they bypassed their own protocol and instead took a more reactive, punitive approach. (LiMai's disciplinary policy at the time was 1st offense: speak with parent, 2nd offense: leave home for the day, 3rd offense: 1 day suspension, 4th offense: termination). What's more troubling is that this incident revealed larger concerns. It became clear that supervision may not have been consistent in real-time, and we were left questioning how long inappropriate behavior had gone unchecked. During the suspension, we made the decision to transfer our son to another local Montessori. There, we discovered he was slightly behind peers in key areas like writing and math skills--despite being told he was doing well at LiMai. We later learned from LiMai's staff that the disciplinary decision was not universally supported and was pushed forward primarily by the owner to appease the other parent. In short, our experience with LiMai included a lack of proactive communication, inconsistent discipline, and shortcomings in academic instruction. I do appreciate the courteous front office secretary and the sincere apologies we received from some of the staff. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to make up for their deeper issues. Of the three Montessoris we've had experience with in Diamond Bar, LiMai was the worst.

They do an awesome job with all of the day-to-day activities and put on great extra-curricular events such as winter/spring shows, parent breakfasts, curriculum night, field-trips, water-play days in summer, etc. In addition, they maintain a very clean, organized, child friendly facility. From your first step through their doors you can tell they care about the details. We first enrolled our daughter after realizing she was encountering a bit of a speech delay and were advised that putting her in daycare where she could socialize with peers her age would help her development. We visited various other daycares/Montessori's in the area and found Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy to be the most responsive, well-staffed and equipped to meet our needs. Our daughter has grown tremendously since we first enrolled her at the age of two (she is now 4 and still enrolled). She went from speaking very few words and wanting to be around only parents and grandparents, to developing quite a vocabulary, learning to play with other kids her age, learning how to engage in a classroom setting, becoming potty-trained, and generally developing her skills for Kindergarten. Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy has always been very accommodating with any of our needs and has communicated/responded well when incidents did occur. We could not be more pleased with the level of service Walnut Montessori-Preschool Academy has provided and would not hesitate to recommend this program to anyone looking for childcare services.

I do have a child that's currently in another program as he requires more attention for his needs. The solution was brought up to us by the director and we were heartbroken that this child would not get the same experience as his siblings. The director was willing to accommodate and work with us but overall moving the child was of his best interest to give him the attention he needed. My family is grateful for this information as we've seen immense growth with the children attending Montessori and the child that's was moved. It really showed us that the school was not trying to keep us for tuition but making knowledgeable recommendations on what would be best for the child and the resources available. In addition to their knowledge there are also plenty of opportunities for children performances, family events, summer field trips and class parties. The hours open are more than reasonable for a working parent. Overall out of all the Montessori schools I've toured this is one of the only ones in the area that's actually Montessori and not Montessori inspired, which ultimately was the original reason why I enrolled my children. I'm glad I made the choice to enroll my children here as I know every one of my kids are learning both educationally and socially.

She attended the 2-3yo classroom and both teachers were caring and truly love what they do as educators. My daughter would come home telling me about her day in school. Up until we had an incident, and thought the way that one of the newer teacher at the time handled the situation absurdly unprofessional. We were able to talk to management/director regarding the matter but it was overall negative which ruined the entire experience. That particular teacher that was involved was later resigned/let go but we did ended up moving on to another preschool shortly after. Also, their staff turnover rate is extremely high. For the year that we were enrolled, we would meet new teachers every 2-4 months. At the time of enrollment (2021-22) they were in the process of renovating the campus, everything was new and clean. Which was a plus.

The teachers and staff are friendly. My daughter is in a toddler classroom and Ms. Maria, Yancy, Melissa, and Jessica have been very patient. Director Thushara and Ms Antonette have been very helpful and answering all the questions and concerns. II can see my daughter is happy coming to school everyday. I love how they have the daily reports so parents are included in their daily activities. Thank you to these wonderful teachers and staff!
