I had really high hopes for this place, but they are a little disorganized. I didn't have my access codes to get in or to the video surveillance until after the second day. I hated to wait outside for so long until someone saw me because I wanted to pickup my daughter as soon as possible! It was my daughter's first time being at a daycare at 22 months and I was already nervous. The teachers asked for diaper rash cream and sunblock after the first day which I provided on the second day (brand new bottles by the way) and they were lost after the third day. Really? I didn't get an apology or get reimbursed. After seeing the teachers disregard my daughter all day, she came home with hardly any voice from crying so long. One of the teachers actually pushed her away a little to teach her how to be "independent". There should be some gradual learning, not after a day or two. My daughter also wasn't challenged, no one showed her how to play with the toys or where to go get them. Distracting a toddler is easy, but I didn't feel the teachers put any effort. I kept hearing that it's an adjustment and all kids go through this, but after my daughter got really sick after the 3rd day, I pulled her out. This place just wasn't a good fit, I am hoping not all daycares are like this. I want teachers to put some tender love and care into all the kids because not all the kids start daycare as newborns. Another thing I noticed was my daughter saying sorry every time her diaper was being changed when I took her back home. Did the teachers make her say that? No clue but I didn't like it. I started my daughter here in 2021 at 4 months old. I was very nervous about bringing her to daycare but our experience has been great. I loved the fact that I could watch the cameras all day and make sure she was ok. Any concerns I had were quickly taken care of. In 2022 we brought our twin boys here as well. We knew many of the parents and other children and most of the teachers as well. My kiddos loved all of the teachers and had a lot of friends. Of all ages, lol. All of the teachers are amazing...Ms Grace, Ms. Bertha, Ms Jessica, Ms Ruby, Ms Maricela, Ms Nancy, Ms Mary, Ms Sandra (sorry if I forgot any one else) all have played a significant role in all 3 of my kiddos lives. A few of their past teachers are no longer there but we loved them all too. I was very sad to leave in May of this year, but we moved out of the area and also my daughter will be starting TK in August. Our kiddo has been attending Tutor Time since 2021. Thanks to the great teachers and super-experienced management (Ms. Rosie, center director), we could trust them with our kiddo. We had a great experience with all classes our kid attended (the Twos, Preschool, and TK-plus). All teachers are very caring and most lead teachers for each class are very experienced. It was amazing to watch our kid bond with teachers like Ms Jessica (Twos), Ms Ruby (Preschool), and Ms Maricela (TK-plus), just to name a few...The center is also part of a federal school meal program which allows them to provide well-balanced and healthy meals, which was a very important factor we considered when choosing childcare. In january of 2023 i sought out to find a daycare for my son. It is always such a nerve wrecking experience as a mother. It would be a new experience after covid years, and I was nervous because my son would flip out if anyone looked his way or if i walked away. I toured the place, i actually went on the wrong day by mistake and I was accommodated regardless. Ms. Mayra was very welcoming and informative. The facility is so clean all the time. My son never got sick from other kids at this facility. He did get some congestion the first couple weeks, but it was also January. I had to have help with getting my son to let go of me, he would cry so hard each time. He was 3 but had to be with the 2s because he had a fear of public restrooms and would have accidents. I had known this beforehand and requested he be accommodated whilst he adjusted to the new routine. At week 3 he stopped crying at drop off. The interesting part was he only ever cried at drop off. He would stick by Ms Jessicas side, he bonded quickly as shes very nurturing. Sooner rather than later his fear of public bathrooms was lessening. A year later now, he will use public bathrooms everywhere now. Not long after he made his adjustment he moved up to preschool with Ms. Ruby, who is AMAZING. He learned so much so fast. For preschool she has actual lesson plans, this was more like private school for the first chunk of the day. At the end of the day he was moved to the final class where kids of all ages were being merged to improve their social and emotional skills. His vocabulary exploded! His manners got better each week. He is quite independent. I located this daycare because I had work around the corner, and currently I am on leave, but if this facility was closer to home I would never have taken him out. This has been the best place. Ms. Rosie and all staff are very much trained. There has never been chaos. The kids are not fighting and staff is always very welcoming and informative. This was the best experience I have ever had with any daycare facility and it had everything to do with the staff and how amazing they are. I have multiple kids and have always had great facilities, but this one was by far impeccable. Every single day the staff is always cleaning. I never saw someone not cleaning and just maintaining the place. It was always warm and welcoming. One time there was a water burst and i didn't see the message they sent me that they would be closed, but Ms Rosie gave me an alternative solution immediately. I was able to go to work and not be late because she knows exactly how to run that facility. She worked with every concern that I had and she reassured me every step of the way when as a mom i had severe anxiety. On camera sometimes he played alone, he wasnt always social and thats okay to be alone because thats how they learn. Its okay for kids to not be constantly held by workers and its definitely not neglect. The workers come around to all children. The children are always so happy and well behaved. Every now and then incidents are normal but it was never fighting. Just head butting for the most part or a fall from moving too fast. I was sad to leave this place and move onto our next chapter. I was so scared to enrolll him in preschool near home, afraid that his anxiety would start up again, but he outgrew it with tutor time. He now absolutely loves school and never cries, he is excited for adventure!! And as a mom this makes me happy because he was a terrified anti social kid with so much anxiety and he didnt want to talk to others. Now he wont stop talking I just want to say thank you to the staff at tutor time. They always rotate staff and I met everyone. Absolutely everyone is amazing. Finding a daycare is difficult, especially for a first child, and especially during the height of the pandemic. When my wife and I came across this facility, we were drawn the the cleanliness and "new" feel of the space. They also had an app that allowed us to view live video and communicate directly with the teachers. The director, Ms. Rosie appeared welcoming and thoughtfully answered our questions. Our child started at the center at the age of 3, and was put into the preschool class with Ms. Ruby (not sure if she's still there). The initial few months were good (as parents this was our first foray into paid childcare, so we did not know what to expect), and the teacher appeared attentive, organized, and responsive to any questions or concerns we had. However, things fell apart rather quickly as the center started becoming plagued with staffing issues, poor training, and high turnover rate. Whenever my child's main teacher was there, things ran smoothly. Whenever it was a anyone else, it was highly concerning. Often times my child was left in an unstructured and chaotic environment where the newly hired "teachers" did not seem to have any control of the class. I would know because I would see it on the live video app the center uses. When brought up with the director, they blamed staffing shortages and promised "better training" with teachers. I would receive "incident reports" involving other students pushing or hitting my child, fortunately not causing injury. Habitually misbehaving children don't seem to face any consequences, and the daycare is reluctant to kick anyone out because they need to fill the spaces. My child picked up on lots of bad behaviors (screaming, climbing, hitting, spitting), things that were never an issue before. During this phase of concern, we had been on a wait-list for another school, and I simply could not WAIT for the spot to open up. If I had another option, I would have take my child out immediately. However, the final straw came in the form of one of the teachers losing complete control over a student right before I dropped off my child. As I was approaching the drop-off classroom, one child was having a meltdown, throwing toy bins, pencils, practically everything in reach, and the teacher was unable to stop her. There were 2 staff outside, and rather than help, stood by and did nothing. I immediately took the day off and kept my child home, as I no longer felt safe dropping off my child at the center. Even though enrollment at the new school was a month away at the time, I was fed up and found a relative to help out in the interim. Since then, my child has now been at the new center for a few months, and it is literally NIGHT and DAY in comparison. Please take the time to find a good day care or preschool for your child. Don't make my mistake and keep your child at a place you don't like for too long. In short: The staff simply isn't paid enough to care, and seems miserable as they just try to get through the day. Aside from one or two teachers, most of the rotating staff don't have your child's best interest at heart. The center takes ANY child, and has much too high of a tolerance for misbehavior. There's a reason this place has no wait-list. Please avoid. read more

Not sure where to start. Back in 2002 I used to drive from Downey to this Walnut Tutor Time for my daughter. Then drive back to Whittier for work. Then after work, Whittier to Walnut to Downey. For two years. Because I felt completely at ease leaving my child. Then I had my son in 2005. Luckily we lived closer this time. My third kid came along in 2016 and we live in La Verne. There wasn't a second thought about driving to Walnut twice a day. And it sure says a lot that there are a number of teachers still here since 2002! My 19 year old daughter and 15 year old son come visit. I firmly believe Tutor Time gave my kids the foundation they needed to excel. My daughter was valedictorian and my son is an A student in high school. They care about their grades they care about people. They follow rules. Today was my last kids...last day at Tutor Time. I wasn't going to do a review until I got a survey from tutor time and it triggered me. I would not recommend this place if your child needs additional attention or if this is a first day care for them. Good thing the shit care center has cameras because I was able to see they were neglecting my two-year-old on her first few days at the center. She also suffered some sort of trauma with a diaper changing to where she would scream in fear when my wife or her grandmothers would change her for at least a week but fortunately she was OK with me changing her. Every time I picked her up there with shit in her diaper. The class is also disruptive I saw A kid hitting another kid with a book and the care giver did not stop it. They made us fill out this long ass booklet about her personality and they didn't even read it. You would think they would not neglect a new child in their care but that was not the case. The caregiver And the assistant Director never seemed happy and always seemed overwhelmed. The assistant director was not welcoming at all and wasn't very nice which was a red flag I ignored. And to be fair these are not teachers, they are daycare workers and don't have the education or an assistant to give children exceptional care and guidance. There were no good days so I pulled her after the first week. There's nothing good to say about this shit care center they traumatized my daughter and they neglected her and one teacher even ridiculed her for crying telling her to be a big girl for crying and she's only two In a new place with strangers. Inquired about this place and the person I spoke to was mocking me over the phone. I asked about taking a tour and enrolling my toddler into the program. He was quite rude about it, I told him that I wasn't interested in a tour, but still scheduled it in. I feel like they're more sales than anything. I should of just hung up after his mockery. The place is $451 a week for fulltime if anyone was wondering. If I'm paying this much for daycare, I would at least expect better customer service. They do accept government help. read more

Essentially a pig pen...Took our 2 yr old here for their 1st experience in a day care and he had separation anxiety for the 1st day (not terribly unusual). Ms. Rosie proceeded to tell us that either myself or my wife would have to stay in the classroom with our child the next day since he was trying to run away and open doors. Although I thought this was an unusual request since I was paying for their service, I ended up obliging and spending the day with my son in the classroom for half day to help him transition. The next day I ended up rotating a couple hours here and there with my wife. Classroom was unstructured, and teachers seemed unhappy, merely going thru the motions trying to get thru the day. Day care should be a happy, clean, instructional environment and TT was the complete opposite. One teacher was willing to spend time with my son and feedback was positive as she seemed to be aiding in his transition. However, Ms Rosie proceeded to tell us that she could not afford to keep 2 teachers in that classroom as they were short staffed. To add further confusion, Ms. Rosie then advised my wife that one of us had to be on site at all times (but not in the classroom). She literally told my wife "as long as one of the parents is in the building, the liability falls on the parents". Needless to say we pulled him out of TT the next day. We placed our son in a different day care and by day 2-3 he was already adjusting significantly better. read more

We enrolled my three year old here. When I arrived there were older children in the younger kids room, the teacher covering really wasn't friendly or welcoming to us when it his first day. She didn't talk to me or anything or greet my son or welcome him. So I just left him confused and I felt unsure about it. when he came home he was crying and having potty accidents which he hadn't had in awhile. I know my child and the way he was crying was not normal separation anxiety, something happened there. The next day I dropped him off the regular teacher was there and she was ok and little more thorough with me but still not super warm and friendly. After returning home he finally said that the kids were being mean to him and calling him names and the teachers weren't helping him. After that, we decided it wasn't a good fit. We've enrolled him in an actual preschool where the teachers are staffed and more friendly. My child is now thriving. Every place is he different, but this place did not meet our needs and essentially set my child backwards in his progress. read more

I would recommend Tutor Time Walnut to ANYONE without hesitation. This is the best daycare my twins have gone to. They went to another daycare prior to this one and it was tough getting them up in the morning bec they would cry and tell us they didn't wanna go to school and cry everytime we would drop them off. When we made the move to Tutor Time Walnut it was a different story. I was scared and worried as any parent would be, but on the 3rd day of going here, they didnt even hesitate to let go of my hand and walk inside! Some days we would pick them up, they wouldnt even want to leave the school! They were 2 1/2 years old when they started and in that first month of going here, they became more communicative with each other and with everyone else, they loved going to school bec of all the activities Ms. Lisa constantly had planned for them and theyre comprehension of things improved. It was easier to explain things to them and they liked doing things themselves and would even tell me not to help them! Everyone here is amazing. Ms. Rosie always communicates with us and keeps us up to date on what's happening. Ms. Lorraine too is always so welcoming and asks how we are doing too. Ms. Lisa, they're teacher, gives us feedback on the twins progress and always has great projects for them and activities focused on enhancing their fine motor skills and cognitive development. Ms. Sabrina and Ms. Joy too are the twins favorite. They are so attentive and caring to the twins and whenever we pick them up, we can see how the twins like playing with them and showing them things and talking to them. This place really is another home for kids and I would gladly send my kids here knowing they are nurtured, loved and cared for like family. read more

Here in Tutor Time Walnut, we met the best teachers and staffs, all of them treat kids nice with patience and love that is easily to tell. The school surroundings are very clean and organized as well as safe which makes me less worried. School director Miss Rosie and all other staffs here are always friendly with smile. We love all preschool and PreK teachers, they do make our boy feel happy and comfortable. My son was here around 3.5 years old with limit English ability, but teachers were never shown any impatient with him. We were on market to find child care center after having surprise baby (10 years after our youngest child). Our older two kids went to Tutor Time YEARS ago. We were planning on visiting four different day cares to make best decision (wasn't sure if Tutor Time was same still because we loved it when our other two kids attended). When we got there, we discovered at least six teachers were still there from 10 years ago!!! Wow! That tells me Tutor Time takes care of their employees. And that is so important because happy employees means happy experience for my child. Tried to find a summer day camp program for my boys. Did call the 800 number and the lady told me to schedule a tour at their Walnut location. And I did ask her if I need to call the school to discuss more detail since I was not sure if we're able to enroll or not. That representative said no need and seemed to me everything was already scheduled and all right. So I just took my kids to the school Monday morning and ready to pay but the school staff told me that they are all full this week, no room for my boys!!!!! My son enrolled here once he turned 2 and stayed for 9 months until we moved. He liked the school and had a lot of fun. They do have a nice outdoor play area which they rotate so they get to exp different location based on the time of day. Enrollment was easy and even Rosie waived the Enrollment fee for us when we signed him up. No waiting list for anything we enrolled him right after he turned 2. I am not sure how other schools are, but sometime we would go on vacation and we would only have to pay 1/2 the weekly tuition. There website is easy to set up your weekly payments and you can even use your credit card to pay. The school allows drop offs as early as 6 or 6:30am and pick up latest 6pm. Parking is easy and the school is next to a sherif station. Passcode to get in and sign in easy before you drop off your kids. Teacher are very nice and answers all your questions. Food is also prepared by the school, but the portions are not the biggest. When i picked up my son he would be hungry and thirsty, but better to have him with a Appetite for dinner. No big incidents at school while he was there except for 2 small ones where my son got scratched and bit by another child, but nothing big, kids will be kids. They notified me of the incident once I picked him up and signed the paper of acknowledgment. There school seems very new and well taken care of, they do have a nice room on the right side when you enter which looks like a small town. But they never use that room. They have plenty of activities,toys, and space for them to play. I wish they had a more teacher per student but it was satisfactory. Kids were all friend and even would hug each other good by when they left. I think he did learn a lot there, he does speak 2 languages at home so it may slowed him from speaking english at school like the other kids. I would got there and watch him from the windows and he would join in group activities and listen to the teachers. He understand what other people would ask him. This is my first school to take my son, It was much better then having him at a home day care where they would run free and watch TV and be mixed with different aged children. if things should change once i enroll him in another school i would be glad to compare. My son has been in this childcare for about a year and a half. He loves all of his teachers and so do I. He started in Ms. Berthas class and has moved to Ms. Diana's (formerly Ms. Nancy's) class. I couldn't have ask for a better staff to surround my son and show him so much love. Never!Never!Never send your child here! I sent my boy here last year. But we found every time when we pick up him, he looks like scary. He doesn't want go there and when we leave him there he cry aloud and runs to my leg. What he had been afraid of???!!! This is never happened before we send him here. I'm given one star because me and lots of parents who had kid stay tutor time before ,we all changed school since we realized that something bad always happened to our kids. The thing is ever time when i pass by that school ,even I moved her to other school more than 2month .My kid is still saying that she's afraid of that school .keep saying that she dont want to go there. They were willing to take my child before TB test results came back. Child returned to me with a scratch on her face and their explanation was they turned their back for a second when it happened. No one was disciplined. The second week I picked her up she had a gash on the inside of her mouth and no one bothered explaining that one, either. I requested my child eat the wholesome food I sent along, but I found they served chicken nuggets and pizza, instead. For $252 a week this service was unacceptable. Great place for your toddlers. I have a 3 year old and so far he has been at 3 places from us moving. This has been by far a place I feel I can trust, my son is extra happy going and doesnt want to leave and his level of learning is up there. My daughter started a few months ago and so far we love it! Ms. Bing has been so nice as well as the rest of the staff. I love knowing that she is in a clean safe environment that serves healthy snacks everyday. I also love that they have so many extra curricular activities. My 14 month old baby has never been to daycare before, but I needed to find temporary care for him while my mom (his caregiver since birth) is away for a couple months. The careteachers here are so sweet and caring, he felt right at home after just one week. Not just the infant primary careteachers, everyone there is nice and caring. I feel that all the caregivers love and care for children from the bottom of their heart, that it is not just a paycheck to them. Talking to a couple of careteachers, I learned that they both have young kids. That is a plus! No wonder they know exactly how I feel as a mother, and often give helpful tips. I truly appreciate their care and love for my baby. Rosie the director gave me a call on the first day to give my updates on my son, giving me peace of mind. They seem to know every child's personality and habits. As soon as I walk in, someone I bump into in the hallway usually tell me what my baby is doing and how he has been without me even asking. Charisma and Laura are soo sweet. Poor Charisma actually felt bad that she couldn't get my baby to eat much one day. It's not her fault, I know my son is a finicky eater. I really don't have any worries now that my baby is with them. I also love that they have serveral infant arts (hand/foot prints arts) activities during the holidays, and will give it to the parents to keep. My son will stay home with grandmom again when she's back, but I definitely will consider bringing him back here part-time when he's eligible for the twadders class (they don't have part-time option for younger classes). Family care is best (and free ;-) ) , but I think part-time TutorTime will definitely help with his social skills, general development and learning. This learning center is well organized and very welcoming. It's located in a safe area ( inside the mall) next to the sheriff's department. Building is kid friendly with vivid colors. It is well maintained- very clean! Staff members are very friendly and caring. I had my 21/2 month old in infant care and all teachers were great. Site director, Rosie Granados is very informative. She welcomes you with a nice smile-very professional. Overall, thus is as awesome learning institution for all age levels. read more

My daughter has been coming here since she was one & she is now three. They're AWESOME here! They were so patient with my daughter when she just started going since she had a bit of separation anxiety. The teachers are all great too! Ms.Bertha, Ms.Nancy, Ms.Vanessa.. they're all amazing! My son has been going to Tutor Time for the past 8 months and I have seen an increase in his learning curve. He is now in Ms. Bing's class and loves it! She is very patient with the kids. Communication with the teachers is very open and they give you updates on the progress of your child daily. The classrooms and play areas are kept very clean. read more
