First time going into star cinema grill. The overall experience was pleasant. Ordered tickets through the app and got the luxury seats for two. Came with a blanket though we did not use it. Also comes with a free bucket of popcorn for each ticket. The premium seats also have a nice small barrier wall so that way you can't see anyone from your left or right depending on the seat - these seats always come in pairs, so it's like good for dates or night outs for couples. There is a side button to turn on light but the light is pretty small and not worth using. The reclining was decent and there are plenty of cup holders for multiple drinks. Ordering was pretty simple, there is a QR code on the hand rest table which we could take a look at the menu (which you can also look from the site). Once you are ready to order, you can press on the call button. The food variety is decent, when you press call button, a person will come to take your order and payment. Food pricing can be a bit expensive depending on what you are getting. The pretzels were pretty good, you get two pieces with three types of dips. The club sandwich is pretty good. Water is a bit expensive, would recommend bringing your own bottled water if you want regular water. Overall movie experience was good, smaller size theater room but it was pretty good with lighting and sound. We watched Super Mario Galaxy and will come back in the future for more movies for sure. read more

This is the best theater I've been to, ever. My friends and I attend this theater about 5-8 times a month. This Star Cinema will normally have 12 rooms, a day each with great screen quality, cleanliness, and comfort. And not to forget nor undermine the service; every single waiter, guard, and staff member I've interacted with, has been so helpful and kind. Shoutouts to the manager, Michael Lowe. Out of the 36 times I've attended, only once was there a mishap with a project, so that gentleman helped us with reseating and refunds. Seats were comfy but mine slanted as it was broken. We had pretzels- came out like baguettes- not bad but eat while it's warm cause it was like an Olive Garden bread stick- hardens after cooling. We also got the churro donuts- hmmm did someone make this out of the pretzel dough lol? Wouldn't get this again. The other minus is the fact that the table doesn't move. This was my first time at Star Cinema and I must say it was quite a luxury experience. Granted, everyone dressed casually like any other theater (especially for a Tuesday night), however, I somehow felt underdressed for how nice this movie theater is. As you enter, there are individual velvet ticketing booths on each side of the hallway to purchase your tickets. At the end of the hallway is the attendant to check your tickets. Behind is a fancy looking bar and lounge area, great for waiting on friends to join you before the movie. I went to see "Sinners" and the actual theater itself is huge with spacious recliners and adjustable table tops. There is also plenty of room to walk down the rows even when chairs are fully reclined. On the table there is a QR code for the menu and a button to press when you are ready to order. Their menu has a ton to offer from small bites, to main entrees, desserts, and alcohol. Even with a packed theater, service was pretty quick! The food was even better, not your typical movie concession food quality, but actual restaurant quality! I tried their spinach and artichoke dip, southwest egg rolls, and the honey I shrunk the sliders with fries. All of them tasted really good, especially the egg rolls and pulled pork sliders. The movie quality itself was good with great picture, but maybe not the best sound when compared to Dolby theaters at AMC. There is also a little more lighting than I would prefer due to waiters having to serve food/drinks during the movie, which is understandable. Another con is the overall experience can also be very pricey as a nice theater, but one way to combat that is to come on Tuesdays as I did when showings are discounted. However, neither the sound, lighting, or price impaired me enough from a 5-star movie experience with everything else Star Cinema has going for it. It is truly worth it for an elevated movie night and has instantly become a top 2 theater for me. I definitely recommend and will for sure be back to watch plenty of movies in the future. read more

First time for us here. We loved it. Great service when we pushed the button. Food prices are ok. I had brisket tacos and they were tasty. Wife had a pizza that was just ok. Love the upscale atmosphere and the seats are comfy. Smaller theater than what we are used to and the ticket price was $11 for a matinee on Sunday. We sat in the back row on the back left and I was at the end close to the railing. Don't recommend those seats. We will definitely go back. As we were leaving even had employees thanking us! It's a really good/clean theater, it's just more expensive than most. Food is also expensive and they automatically add 18% tip. I didn't notice the tip and added another 15% on the tip line. Seems pretty shady to me to addd the tip line when it's already included. Anyway. It costs us about $100 to go to a movie and get a snack for a family of 3. read more

I don't go to the movies often but when I do I come here. I love the VIP parking options, self-serve kiosks, full bar, and service in the theater. I ordered a chocolate shake and the usual suspect pizza. My waiter was very attentive and the food was really good. The shake was velvety smooth and rich. The pizza comes topped with Parmsean cheese, and if you're a meat lover, this pizza is for you. If you do the pod, you get a free blanket and popcorn!! Love this theater for an elevated movie experience! The space is beautifully decorated from the moment you enter the theater, to the lobby, to the restrooms. It's clean and the staff are overall friendly and helpful. You can enjoy the bar area before/after your movie. You can order your food and drinks from your seat and they bring everything out to you. They do serve a brunch menu Saturdays and Sundays. I had the breakfast tacos and they were great. I didn't like how they had half the parking lot blocked off for people to purchase "premium" parking spots. It's weird to have to pay $12 to park at the front when the parking lot barely has cars. I have patronized Star Cinemas for many years on average bimonthly with my kids. Richmond and MO city. Last month I went to the Richmond one, and they forced an 18% mandatory gratuity on my bill. I am always one to tip WHEN THE SERVICE WARRANTS IT, but this forceful 18% is where I draw the line. It has been my experience that 90% of the time the servers forget part of your order or mess up part of it and someone doesn't get their food, so why reward mediocrity? Don't blame the customers if the establishment is too cheap to pay decent wages. No more Star Cinema for us!. Wait for Netflix or Prime and DoorDash the finest restaurant your fancy and it will still be cheaper, or simple dine at your fav place before you go and order NOTHING at the movies! read more

My husband and I came on a random weekday to enjoy a movie date. Our movie started around 1130am. Parking was very easy because there's not a lot of people at that time. However, when we got to our seats... my seat was in terrible condition. The light wasn't working and the QR code was scratched off. We got into the cinema about 5 minutes before the movie started and the worker that was cleaning the room up was no where to be found but left the trash can there. He came to remove it 30 min into the movie. Food took forever to come out and it was cold. Popcorn was stale and when we had requested for two orders, they gave us only one. [They did give us another]. But the worker initially told us it would be $1 to add flavor to the popcorn, looking at the bill it was more than that. We were given food without utensils or napkins which made us have to wait longer, and the food just sat there at this time. Not sure if it was due to the new college or high school hires they had run the place at that time it was definitely not a good experience. read more

I HATE going to the movie theaters but my sister had 2 free tickets so I said why not? Right when we walked in we were shocked and impressed with how fancy it was. The decor and ambiance was TOP TIER! They have a lot of food & drink options to choose from. My sister swears that the burgers are the best she's ever had in her life. Service was 5/5! Needed to use my 2 vouchers so since I was in the area decided to visit this location for the first time (typically go to cypress location). I was very impressed with how beautiful this location is as I was walking in. Employee greeted us right away and walked me through how to redeem my vouchers online so then he could scan the qr code when the "purchase was done". The seats were nice and comfy. A pro of this theatre is that all the armrests go up, so it was easier for my sis and I to place the popcorn bowl right in between us for easy reach. Today I only got a large popcorn (and got it refilled once) and the Grateful dead drink which was very yummy but I think overpriced. Bathrooms were clean, overall the entire theatre is clean and kept up. I'd go back if I was in the area! Also sidenote- not sure if they use a different audio system or have the settings different for trailer vs movie (I dont know anything about that stuff so not sure how to phrase it), but to not worry that the sound won't be clear for the movie. The only thing not to like about this place, generally speaking are the prices! I paid $17 for that glass of frozen coke with a lil vanilla crown royal! The show prices aren't cheap either. Maybe that's in line with today, don't really think so but I'm a $5/6 AMC before noon type of lady. I assume that still exists but I don't go to the movies often. The service was a little slow too but I give her credit for her patience cause she knelt the entire time one of my companions was looking at the menu. The screens are huge, the theater rooms aren't super large either which is nice. I think they hold 100 or so people I heard someone say. The decor is extremely nice, they have a bar straight ahead after walking in. Fancyyyy! And I'm not wide in the hips by any means but I found whenever I adjusted my body, the controls would activate and move the seat. That was so damn annoying the entire movie! Like why are they so sensitive. They also offer blankets but no thanks! They might be clean but some employees don't act right (same as at these hotels) but you'll never know while having that blanket on you! And patrons can be nasty in general ! My other 2 companions ordered alcoholic drinks, popcorn, and chicken tenders. They both said it was just ok. I'd return, just cause I like bourgeois shxt. Just need slightly better in-theater service. However, the guy at the ticket counter was very friendly as well as the bartender who was nice enough to take pics for us after the movie. read more

Wow what a cinema! I didn't expect such a beautiful bar when I entered. Wish I would've come to my movie earlier! The theater itself was also gorgeous. I love that the tray table slides towards you. Very convenient. The seats were reclinable. The wait staff was ok. I asked someone for help but they said I had to get my waitress. The food was pretty good. I got the loaded fries. My only issue is that they forgot the sour cream. When I told the waitress she told me that it didn't come with that. It's clearly on the menu. Then she kind of seemed annoyed when I asked if she could bring me some. Maybe learn the menu a bit better and don't argue with the customer. read more

Over the past several visits, I have experienced broken seats. Some seats don't recline and some are like sitting in a hole. The food & service has declined. You don't get everything that is requested, but still get charged for it. I've emailed management twice over the past year with no response. It's really disheartening for those of us that would like to support local, but back to the big chain theater is becoming a must. read more

This is a state of the art movie theatre. But I'm not a fan of 3 things: the horrible pours for millions of dollars, the untold 50 cent fee for Ranch dressing and bartenders handing me draws without washing their hands. When I first came here (when they opened and continually) the energy exuded from the workers. Now? I feel like the morale has slightly gone down. Maybe it's because of the revolving doors in workers? Okay y'all, I been sleeping on this food entree at Star Cinema. The salmon fajita tacos are so delicious. I usually order my 3 Amigos fried appetizer but trying to choose more healthy items options. I was a little nervous because salmon can be prepared dry, but it was juicy and very flavorful. I would definitely order it again next visit. The chips tasted freshly made as well. Prices $18 are higher but that's food everywhere these days. But I feel the food quality was worth it. So it you like fish tacos it's worth trying. Skip the mayo sauce it you want to save calories and just get the salsa or without because the salmon was so juicy and full of flavor but not salty. read more

This was our first time to the movies in years. Unfortunately this was a disappointing experience. The only thing that saves it from a 1-star is the fact that we loved the movie we saw which actually isn't reflective of the movie theater itself. Inner and outer decor when you first walk in is great. You forget you're even in a movie theater. And the hosts/waiters are nice and prompt to serve at the beginning prior to the movie. That's where the niceties end. The recliners are so worn down that most of the middle ones had cracking leather seats. The food portions are incredibly small for the price. We ordered chicken and waffles and the Love Me Tender. Both of our chicken tenders were incredibly tiny, nearly the size of popcorn chicken. Looked like they came out of a Tyson frozen chicken bag. Fries were about average with their crispness and seasoning. And the chicken tenders don't come with any sauces, you have to ask for it which delayed us from eating. Then they forgot my alcoholic drink. It wasn't until 20-30 min into the movie that I realized they had forgotten my drink so I brought it up. By the time I had gotten my drink, the movie was nearly halfway done. And the entire movie, I could hear the loud bass of both movies on either side of the theater; this is after I had just explained to my wife that the pads on the walls of the theater were meant to dampen the noise from neighboring theaters. For drinks, we ordered the Halle berry and cherry limeade. The Halle berry was overly sweet and the cherry limeade was so watered down, could barely taste any alcohol. For that price, you'd be better off going to a cocktail bar beforehand. We unfortunately will not be back to the movies, and definitely not for the food. read more

The staff can repair the seats quickly, though. Blankets can be requested. For most movies there are no previews, so the feature starts about 5 minutes after showtime. I like the calm atmosphere and recommend everyone save room for the meal. read more

Pretty poor experience tonight at the 5:30 showing of dogman!!! Service couldn't have been slower and both the parking lot and our theatre weren't even halfway full. My husband waited 49 mins for strawberry lemonade that was ordered before the movie even started. My tacos and queso came out cold, not warm, COLD! Sent one taco back only to wait another 18 mins for guess what, more cold tacos! The trash can in the restroom Was overflowing with towelettes and two stalls had no toilet tissue. This also seemed to be where the staff hides out. There were individuals listening to what sounded like videos from their phones In the stalls. To top it off we were told the lemonade would be removed from the bill.....and of course it wasn't. My husband paid the bill without saying anything because we just became fed up with pressing the "button" and getting service some 10+ mins later. All in all, we will never return to this location. I think it should be understood that yes, prices are rising everywhere. However it should also be expected that delivery to the consumer should AT LEAST meet expectations. This fell so far below any standard for in theatre dining. It was just purely disappointing. read more

Ugh it pains me to give this place a bad review but after my most recent experience, it's what it deserves. My husband and I have been coming here since it opened and usualy have a great time, so much so that we come here on a monthly basis. However most recently, the service has seemed to really go downhill. I was here a few weeks ago and we had paid for the pods.. but as soon as we walked into one of the smaller theatre's for our movie, we were overwhelmed with a disgusting smell. Not sure what it was, but it was overwhelming, it smelt musty and wet, maybe like cleaned up vomit? I alerted a server who let the manager know. When the manager came in, she was like oh we don't smell anything and that was pretty much the end of it. I ended up watching the movie with my sweater over my nose and ended up leaving with a horrible headache from the smell. Even my husband said that when he came from the bathroom it was very noticeable when you walked right into the theatre. Next our pods were very dirty, there was old popcorn spilt everywhere and garbage in the table console. It felt like they didn't even clean up after the previous movie! I will say all the servers were very friendly and provided quick service with a smile. I ordered my go to hummus which is normally delicious, but that day the oil they used tasted rancid and the cut vegetables had a vinegar taste to them. Lastly there were two couples beside us in the pods that spent half the movie walking back and forth and spent a good 5 minute standing up and talking. I know this is not be theatres fault, but they should enforce more strict rules like Alamo. Basically be quiet or get kicked out. All in all this was a really poor experience, I hope they work to remedy these issues. At this time due to the above experience, I cannot recommend this theatre. read more

This is one of the most beautiful theaters I've ever had the pleasure of watching a movie. I love the elevated very grown, sophisticated, and mature feel of Star Cinemas. They have plenty of parking and a very good well appointed lobby. I purchased my tickets on their app which was easy to use and pretty straight forward. We opted for their premium recliner seats (a slight up charge). The seats were cozy and only in pairs of two with nice division between your pair and the other pairs around you. The seats were equipped with seat lighting, seat warmers, blankets, a call button for service, and free popcorn. It was definitely worth the small upcharge. We went on a less busy day for a matinee show and service wasn't bad. It took a little while for our server to take our initial order but we were early. So, no big deal. I took a star off because the food was less than exciting. I ordered the classic burger with sweet potato fries. My fiancée ordered the loaded nachos with carne asada. Everything was cold, but I could see the meal had potential. We did enjoy the popcorn. I truly go to movie theaters for the movie experience and I love that the theater is very nice and offers a feeling of seclusion in their premium seating. I hope the food gets better. read more
