This was my first time at Star Cinema and I must say it was quite a luxury experience. Granted, everyone dressed casually like any other theater (especially for a Tuesday night), however, I somehow felt underdressed for how nice this movie theater is. As you enter, there are individual velvet ticketing booths on each side of the hallway to purchase your tickets. At the end of the hallway is the attendant to check your tickets. Behind is a fancy looking bar and lounge area, great for waiting on friends to join you before the movie. I went to see "Sinners" and the actual theater itself is huge with spacious recliners and adjustable table tops. There is also plenty of room to walk down the rows even when chairs are fully reclined. On the table there is a QR code for the menu and a button to press when you are ready to order. Their menu has a ton to offer from small bites, to main entrees, desserts, and alcohol. Even with a packed theater, service was pretty quick! The food was even better, not your typical movie concession food quality, but actual restaurant quality! I tried their spinach and artichoke dip, southwest egg rolls, and the honey I shrunk the sliders with fries. All of them tasted really good, especially the egg rolls and pulled pork sliders. The movie quality itself was good with great picture, but maybe not the best sound when compared to Dolby theaters at AMC. There is also a little more lighting than I would prefer due to waiters having to serve food/drinks during the movie, which is understandable. Another con is the overall experience can also be very pricey as a nice theater, but one way to combat that is to come on Tuesdays as I did when showings are discounted. However, neither the sound, lighting, or price impaired me enough from a 5-star movie experience with everything else Star Cinema has going for it. It is truly worth it for an elevated movie night and has instantly become a top 2 theater for me. I definitely recommend and will for sure be back to watch plenty of movies in the future.

While I still love it here .. the mandatory tipping already added is crazy tbh ... the food ... downhill . The popcorn is the best . The cheese they use is super salty , mozzarella sticks greasy . Hummus was watery so I'm not taking away from the service but these things pushed me to update . I have a huge problem with quality and the dollar I pay don't match what's being served

I don't go to the movies often but when I do I come here. I love the VIP parking options, self-serve kiosks, full bar, and service in the theater. I ordered a chocolate shake and the usual suspect pizza. My waiter was very attentive and the food was really good. The shake was velvety smooth and rich. The pizza comes topped with Parmsean cheese, and if you're a meat lover, this pizza is for you. If you do the pod, you get a free blanket and popcorn!! I love the location, friendly staff, drinks, food, and clean facility.

I HATE going to the movie theaters but my sister had 2 free tickets so I said why not? Right when we walked in we were shocked and impressed with how fancy it was. The decor and ambiance was TOP TIER! They have a lot of food & drink options to choose from. My sister swears that the burgers are the best she's ever had in her life. Service was 5/5! Super clean and luxurious environment. I would definitely come back.

Needed to use my 2 vouchers so since I was in the area decided to visit this location for the first time (typically go to cypress location). I was very impressed with how beautiful this location is as I was walking in. Employee greeted us right away and walked me through how to redeem my vouchers online so then he could scan the qr code when the "purchase was done". The seats were nice and comfy. A pro of this theatre is that all the armrests go up, so it was easier for my sis and I to place the popcorn bowl right in between us for easy reach. Today I only got a large popcorn (and got it refilled once) and the Grateful dead drink which was very yummy but I think overpriced. Bathrooms were clean, overall the entire theatre is clean and kept up. I'd go back if I was in the area! Also sidenote- not sure if they use a different audio system or have the settings different for trailer vs movie (I dont know anything about that stuff so not sure how to phrase it), but to not worry that the sound won't be clear for the movie. The sound for all the trailers was muffled and I was worried the movie was going to play with issues, but it didn't. Just an observation

Frozen Coke - Crown Vanilla & Coke

The only thing not to like about this place, generally speaking are the prices! I paid $17 for that glass of frozen coke with a lil vanilla crown royal! The show prices aren't cheap either. Maybe that's in line with today, don't really think so but I'm a $5/6 AMC before noon type of lady. I assume that still exists but I don't go to the movies often. The service was a little slow too but I give her credit for her patience cause she knelt the entire time one of my companions was looking at the menu. The screens are huge, the theater rooms aren't super large either which is nice. I think they hold 100 or so people I heard someone say. The decor is extremely nice, they have a bar straight ahead after walking in. Fancyyyy! And I'm not wide in the hips by any means but I found whenever I adjusted my body, the controls would activate and move the seat. That was so damn annoying the entire movie! Like why are they so sensitive. They also offer blankets but no thanks! They might be clean but some employees don't act right (same as at these hotels) but you'll never know while having that blanket on you! And patrons can be nasty in general ! My other 2 companions ordered alcoholic drinks, popcorn, and chicken tenders. They both said it was just ok. I'd return, just cause I like bourgeois shxt. Just need slightly better in-theater service. However, the guy at the ticket counter was very friendly as well as the bartender who was nice enough to take pics for us after the movie.

Wow what a cinema! I didn't expect such a beautiful bar when I entered. Wish I would've come to my movie earlier! The theater itself was also gorgeous. I love that the tray table slides towards you. Very convenient. The seats were reclinable. The wait staff was ok. I asked someone for help but they said I had to get my waitress. The food was pretty good. I got the loaded fries. My only issue is that they forgot the sour cream. When I told the waitress she told me that it didn't come with that. It's clearly on the menu. Then she kind of seemed annoyed when I asked if she could bring me some. Maybe learn the menu a bit better and don't argue with the customer.

    Very little for price.

What are your goto food options here while watching the movie?

The wings are very flavorful, but we also like the nachos, pizza, and burgers.

What kind of clothes should i wear? t-shirt and jeans, dress, nike shorts and tshirt?

we don't have a specific dress code. you may just casual and comfy, or you can dress a little nicer if you would like!

Checked it out online and found that $18 tickets are obscenely expensive no matter how comfortable the seats are. We'll try it someday?

If you're in a hurry, mobile ordering is also a great option and just as efficient. Another big plus is the location. It's definitely an older theater now, and while it's not the fanciest theater in the Houston area, it still does the job. For the most part, the theater is clean, and the crowds are usually respectful. I've never really had issues with rowdy people ruining a movie experience here, which honestly counts for a lot these days. My friends and I have also spent time in the arcade over the years while waiting for movies to start, and it's always been a fun addition. I'm a Movie Club member and still have dozens of free movies banked from Covid and beyond because I never fully got back into going weekly the way I used to see movies. The membership is worthwhile if you go often since you get discounts on concessions and tickets. That said, there are definitely some downsides. The food delivery-to-seat option sounds great in theory, but the few times I've done it, my popcorn and food were already sitting in my seat long before the movie started. I don't want cold popcorn, and I felt like the food quality suffered because of it. The theater also feels understaffed now. During weekdays there's often nobody even checking tickets, which honestly feels strange. Today we went to see The Devil Wears Prada 2, and no one scanned our tickets at all. The side concession stands also never seem to be open--even on busy weekends--which makes me wonder why they're there if they're never staffed. I honestly don't recall ever seeing them open, even after they were installed. The main concession line usually moves quickly enough, but the lack of staffing is noticeable throughout the building. The bathrooms could also use more attention. Too often there are missing paper towels or empty soap dispensers. And like every theater now, the prices have become hard to justify. Eight dollars for a hot dog is honestly ridiculous. I used to always buy concessions because I wanted to support the theater industry, but it's hard to walk out after tickets and snacks feeling like you spent $40+ per person for one movie outing. Overall, I'd probably give this theater three stars. It's not terrible, and I still come here, but it does feel a bit rundown compared to newer theaters around town. Still, if you just want a straightforward movie experience with comfortable seats and generally decent crowds, it works fine.

Our movie was in room #11 and the seats were great. They were spacious and comfortable, with easy reclining options. The seating arrangement was perfect, ensuring that no one could obstruct our view. However, the speakers were uncomfortably loud during all the trailers. The sound was blaring and when I brought this to the attention of a staff member, he informed me that there had been numerous complaints about the loudness. He assured me that the sound would improve once the actual movie began. He was correct; it did get better once the movie started. Just be aware that if you're in that room, the sound will improve once the movie starts. The theater is located inside a mall, which isn't a problem. However, the only way to enter is through the mall entrance and if you watch a late movie like I did last night, you must exit through their back doors. Unfortunately, the backdoor exit area lacks visibility and made me felt a bit unsafe. Also, I'm not sure if it was because of Christmas day and they didn't have enough staff but the restrooms were in terrible condition, with soiled floors, overflowing trash bins, and a lack of toilet paper in the stalls. The drinks and condiments area was also very messy and sticky.

Pros: - Making reservations was easy and the staff was really helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. I asked a lot of questions because I've never booked a birthday party like this at Main Event, or anywhere in general. - We got a party host to help transition and communicate with us throughout the 3 hours we were there. This helped because she kept us up to date about our rooms. She even carried our cakes, party favors, and gifts to our room while we were bowling. - She was also very sweet, patient, and kind. She never had an annoyed or frustrated look on her face. She did things with a smile the entire time! - Probably because we had a large party, but we had our meal in a private room, instead of one of those long tables. This made it more intimate, spacious, relaxing, and quiet. It also helped keep the kids together because there were 20 of them! - The sliders, fries, and fruit (we had orange slices) is the biggest bang for your buck in my opinion. The fries were amazing! They were the perfectly salted and crispy. The sliders were a tad dry and really needed condiments. However, I was glad that they had another option besides pizza. - During cake time, our party host provided a lighter and even cut the cakes for us. - We were provided lockers to store the gifts so we didn't have to carry it around during the arcade time. - The three hours of activities and food combination was the perfect amount of time. The 500 VIP points was also helpful so my boys could grab something from the store to make their birthday a little more special. My boys and their friends had a LOT of fun! Cons: - We only had one party host to accommodate 30+ people, so you can imagine how slow service was at times. She did the best she could, but I think having another person would have helped. We had unlimited drinks, so she was constantly getting our drink orders. I was so thirsty at one point, but felt so bad for her that I didn't even ask for water. - We had 1 hour of bowling before we headed to the private room for food. I think it would have been easier and better if it was fully supplied. There were no napkins, utensils, or condiments. The pizza was already there and we were just waiting on the sliders, fries, and fruit. Once the first set of sliders and fries came, we started to serve with our hands and used plates as tongs to grab the fries. It wasn't until several minutes later when the second set of sliders/fries came that tongs arrived. - Also, the party package said that there would be condiments on the side, but nothing was provided. We had to ask for ketchup twice before it came. I think to make things easier, the party host should have been provided a rolling cart to carry multiple things so she didn't have to keep running back and forth. Also, Main Event should really consider providing pitchers of water/drinks so we can serve ourselves. It would have been a lot faster and more efficient. - The math wasn't mathing when it came to the sliders. I paid for 18 kids, but we got 32 sliders. So either we got extra sliders, or we were missing 4 sliders. In the end it didn't matter because the amount of food was enough. - We are not allowed to bring outside food so we HAD to purchase extra food for the parents. We got three pizzas and it was so expensive! It was basically $60. - I did not anticipate having to pay for service fees/tip. I wasn't angry about tipping my party host. I think she did the best she could and deserved a tip. I was just surprised about the service fee and felt put on the spot about tipping. Like I said, I've never done this before. Basically it made everything about $100 more expensive. *The cons are mainly because of the price and hiccups we had during our time of eating.* Overall, the place is super expensive. $17.99 a kid is not bad in general because it includes 1 hour of activity, food, and $10 play card. However, it does add up quickly when hosting for a birthday party. I think it would be more reasonable if the price went down if you have more than 10 kids or something. What makes it incredibly expensive in the end is the service fee, tip, and having to pay for extra food. I think for the price you pay, the service could be a lot better and more organized. This is speaking in general, and nothing against our party host specifically. The place was PACKED when we went. However, since the place is gigantic, it wasn't that crowded when you walked around, which was nice. If anything, it added to the fun and festivities. In the end, my boys had a great time and so did their friends. I didn't have to clean or cook, so that took away a great deal of stress as a mom. Would I ever do this again? Probably not, unless there was an amazing deal going on.
