Everything was beautifully presented. The venue was perfect for this event. It took 3 months to setup the whole presentation. I was very impressed by the various themes--perfect for all ages. I am from California and I have not seen anything close to this. I highly recommend this light show!!!

I love magical winter lights. I've been every year with my family and this year they moved it to Katy which was great since it's a lot closer than Baytown. I do think this location was a lot smaller but the lights were just as beautiful and I enjoyed my experience here. I believe tickets are $25 on their website but I've always purchased mine on groupon for $16.

Beautiful lights! $25 to see all these lights is definitely worth it. You can also buy an attractions ticket to ride the rides for the same price, but we didn't. It was cold so remember to bring a jacket the next time they have this again! It was really fun!

This is a horrible money grabber IMO. The lights are so-so, the "carnies" are rude and disrespectful, and the food is extremely overpriced. A greasy turkey leg was a whopping $20! A 20oz drink was $8 with a refill setting you back $4! I passed with the quickness. Besides - there's SO MANY quality restaurants nearby to patronize AND for less money! Against my better judgment based on a 2015 visit to the same show in a different area, my family and I went to the Katy "festival" with some really dear friends, only to be left with a poor experience and a $140 expense... and that was a Groupon expense nonetheless! The carnival portion was something else... a side of the freeway type setup that reeked of urine and cigarettes, and was manned by ignorant folks with major chips on their shoulders. I don't think I encountered one respectful or polite worker. Even the ladies tending to the wristband kiosk were questionable - eating and talking at the same time is just disgusting. The ride lights were half on and half off, were dirty, and many were empty. The lights - definitely not worth the $90 we paid for entrance. The lights were spread out, the cords were poorly covered and a trip hazard, and again - very poorly manned. At literally 9:56pm (the park closed at 10), they closed the rides down - even though the majority didn't last more than 2 minutes. So we lost money on the wristbands... Not an experience I'm willing to recommend. However, if you want an expensive & nasty outing - this is definitely for you. Me? I feel bamboozled.

It's a bit pricy but the lights were cool. I didn't go into the carnival section so I can't comment on the food or rides. However, you can easily find cheaper food options within a short drive. The lights are located in a mall parking lot. We just parked in the free parking lot close to the movie theater. Very short walk over. I can't justify paying $10 for parking unless you're really lazy. There is only one entrance. You can probably spend like 30 mins to 1 hr here if you're just doing the lights and taking pictures.

I was really looking forward to the lights being here in katy, but unfortunately it being moved meant it was downsized by ALOT. if you've never been you may still enjoy them (like my aunt who had never been) but I had been last year at the race park where it was HUGE. Complete sections were missing this year, way less food options too and seating. I went with a few other adults, so if you go with kids I'm sure they'll appreciate it alot more. I can't honestly comment on the carnival because I'm not a carnival person, so if it has gotten smaller or stayed the same size I would not know unfortunately. I want the lights to stay in katy, but it needs to have a spot better catered for it, one where it can be nearly as big as before and not be in the way of anything. I'm sure the parking situation isn't ideal during the holiday season. Food was okay, had a blooming onion and it was too greasy. Best option there I don't remember the name of, but it's a smaller tent vendor that sells Cajun style food! My dad got a shrimp taco if I'm correct, and that was delicious. Also there are 2 places here selling coffee/hot chocolate, a food truck and a tent vendor. Be sure to look at both places to see the differences in menu AND and prices.

However this was my first time back in probably over 20 year and they have TONS of things geared towards kids now. I'd be a happy kid! Anything under the sun "festival" will be found here. I was hoping to see more Bluebonnet art, but unlike 20 some odd years years ago it's more commercialized now, just think any festival you go to with "some" bluebonnet stuff mixed it. Home decor, yard art, Texas art, graphic tees, clothes, make your own potpourri, candles, jewelry, festival memorabilia, everything! And let's not forget about festival food! Lots of it! Adult beverages can be found everywhere. You can also get a glimpse into Chappell Hill history by going into the Historical Society building and other buildings along Main St. There is a kids section of carnival rides and face painting for those who have kids in tow. Parking as of this year is $5 and contrary to review number 1 - apparently they have it covered now because there were zero issues. Tip 1 - I would suggest arriving first thing in the morning to avoid any congestion. Tip 2 - There are TONS of yard art vendors. Shop around before you impulse buy. Several venders are much cheaper than the venders at the very start of the festival off Main and 290. Tip 3 - Some venders (not all) only take cash - so bring it! There is an ATM in the Historical Society building....unless they move it. Tip 4 - I laughed when I saw women toting around carts and wagons without kids. But I soon found that they were the smart ones! I bought so much cheap yard art that I could hardly carry it. Who's laughing now. Not me!! Lesson learned - bring something to carry your crap once you buy! You'll be happy you did! Enjoy!!!

You enter into an old antique store to walk upstairs to the actual theater. Parking is available outside and on the cross streets with no charge. The staff, which can't really be called staff because they don't get paid, were exceptionally helpful. Concessions are available for a contribution price that you determine. An old-fashioned elevator lift service that's done by rope in hand is available for wheelchair or just for novelty purposes. From what I experienced, it took about four minutes to get from the ground level up to the second level. The seating is staggered with three different rows in the front, and on both left and right sides. There's not a bad seat in the house since they are leveled. One thing to note, because this is a very small venue, your feet are literally on the stage area (see photo). I would never consider myself a theater goer, but this has changed my opinion. I had a great time and so did all of my 6 friends. I will definitely attend another. The theater is upstairs with multiple iconic photos and memorabilia of the 31 years they have been operating. They also have a mystery theater across the hall from the play theater we attended.

If anything,…read moreit'll help you understand why the schools in the area are named the way they are (Stephen F. Austin, Isaac H. Kempner, B.F. Terry, and Jane Long to be exact.) Since this part of Texas was colonized in the 1800s, landowners here had plantations with cotton and sugar cane. And since they were part of the confederacy, they did have slaves. So yes, slaves were in this part of the country, in addition to the KKK. The museum doesn't condone slavery; it was simply letting us know that it existed around these parts. What people should take offense from is that B.F. Terry, though apparently an excellent fighter, was a slave owner and yet he has a high school named after him. The museum itself is small, but your admission also goes towards 2 house tours. I really enjoyed the Moore mansion. The docent was very good in explaining what everything was and delving deep into the family's history. If there's anything they could improve on, I would suggest updating some of the museum info, specifically, the surrounding town populations with information from the 2010 US census. Additionally, it's hard to remember the Moore family tree; I think it'd be helpful to have a poster with the family tree to help us visual learners see how everyone is related and who made what changes to the house.
