Loved coming here! The staff is very knowledgeable and they have guided tours about every hour or so. The inside part of the museum is free to look at and they even have a chair next to the bookshelf if you want to sit down for a bit and read some local transportation history of the area. The guided tour was very in depth and as you're on it you get to see the trains pass by. Fun little experience to have when you're in Rosenberg and the tickets are only 10 dollars!

Very unique little venue. Too bad the outside model wasn't running today, but the 3D printed set of the old cities is amazing. I can't believe the amount of detail they put into this. Hot texas days are difficult here, but worth the trouble. The indoor models are massive and a lot of fun. Gene was a great tour guide and a wealth of information.

If you are a train fan this is the place to go! Trains come by every hour on weekdays and every few hours on weekends!! I love going and watching the trains! In the tower there is a live monitor for the trains! 4 tracks for excellent action! Union Pacific, Kansas City Southern and Amtrak regularly pass along with BNSF occasionally on the far 2 tracks and BNSF regularly pass on the closer 2 tracks. Also there is a platform to view trains.

If you or your child is obsessed with Trains, they will love visiting here. I think they will really enjoy it more if they are over 6, the tour has a lot of information, and they may get bored. I thought our tour guide was excellent, she really knew so much about trains, and the history of them. She was very passionate about it, and knew all the answers to the questions my 8 year old asked. We lucked out when we went, because the miniature trains don't run on sat, they run on sun, there just happened to be on of the members on site who ran them that day. That is a highlight, so make sure you go when they are running. I learned a lot myself, and I thought it was so interesting. You only need about an hour max, but Main street has a lot of things to see, so it is easy to spend an afternoon in Rosenberg.

What a truly delightful little museum! I'd had this place bookmarked for quite sometime but never had the opportunity to make it out to Rosenberg to explore until today. We arrived a little late (like 4:15 and the museum closes at 5) but I honestly thought 45 minutes would be plenty of time. Wrong. Hahaha. My son was sooooooooo excited to see a real train car (caboose) up close, a gigantic (and beautiful) model train set, an old fire engine that he could "drive" (probably the highlight for him during our short visit) AND watch the real live choo-choo's as they chugged past the museum from a little platform. We had so much fun, it was a bummer we were too late for the tour (which lasts over an hour). When the clock struck 5:00 and it was time to leave my boy did NOT want to go. I really feel we could've stayed at this museum for at least 2 hrs. I didn't even get to see the fancy business car, the rail tower thingy or the jail! If you have a toddler (or child!) that loves trains & fire trucks I am insisting you come here. If you're leery of driving alllllllllll the way out here just for the museum & you've never been to historic downtown Rosenberg (I hadn't) fear not! You can easily make a day of this....After you get your fill of the museum go eat one of the bbq restaurants, shop the many antique stores, stroll around the historic downtown area then finish up the day with a snowball from one of the local stands. Beautiful visit. I definitely plan on returning.

I then setup a walkthrough of the venue to get pictures, measurements and to see the facilities. They grant you access to two kitchens and two bathrooms nearby. They are not in the Veranda but are in close walking distance. The Veranda was perfect, open, airy and so pretty! The rental comes with four round tables, linens and chairs. They provide spandex covers for the buffet/main tables as well as all round table linens in crisp white. Ana Alicia and the rest of the staff were amazing. Super helpful, and friendly. They are super accommodating from start to finish. The deposit was returned in less than a week! I highly recommend this venue!

If you've lived in Fort Bend County, you would find this museum quite interesting. If anything,…read moreit'll help you understand why the schools in the area are named the way they are (Stephen F. Austin, Isaac H. Kempner, B.F. Terry, and Jane Long to be exact.) Since this part of Texas was colonized in the 1800s, landowners here had plantations with cotton and sugar cane. And since they were part of the confederacy, they did have slaves. So yes, slaves were in this part of the country, in addition to the KKK. The museum doesn't condone slavery; it was simply letting us know that it existed around these parts. What people should take offense from is that B.F. Terry, though apparently an excellent fighter, was a slave owner and yet he has a high school named after him. The museum itself is small, but your admission also goes towards 2 house tours. I really enjoyed the Moore mansion. The docent was very good in explaining what everything was and delving deep into the family's history. If there's anything they could improve on, I would suggest updating some of the museum info, specifically, the surrounding town populations with information from the 2010 US census. Additionally, it's hard to remember the Moore family tree; I think it'd be helpful to have a poster with the family tree to help us visual learners see how everyone is related and who made what changes to the house.

2021 April Soooo not really a business, but worth a mention!…read moreChappell hill bluebonnet festival!! Perfect weather...perfect place!! Once a year, Along the streets of the small city of chapel hill...is a cozy little area to look at booth after booth after booth of crafts, foods, hot sauces, and other homemade goodies!! the people are extremely polite and fun to talk to...alcohol is located throughout the area with a few scattered ATM machines. Free to get in, you can spend a few hours out there....live music and good times!! Love it

However this was my first time back in probably over 20 year and they have TONS of things geared towards kids now. I'd be a happy kid! Anything under the sun "festival" will be found here. I was hoping to see more Bluebonnet art, but unlike 20 some odd years years ago it's more commercialized now, just think any festival you go to with "some" bluebonnet stuff mixed it. Home decor, yard art, Texas art, graphic tees, clothes, make your own potpourri, candles, jewelry, festival memorabilia, everything! And let's not forget about festival food! Lots of it! Adult beverages can be found everywhere. You can also get a glimpse into Chappell Hill history by going into the Historical Society building and other buildings along Main St. There is a kids section of carnival rides and face painting for those who have kids in tow. Parking as of this year is $5 and contrary to review number 1 - apparently they have it covered now because there were zero issues. Tip 1 - I would suggest arriving first thing in the morning to avoid any congestion. Tip 2 - There are TONS of yard art vendors. Shop around before you impulse buy. Several venders are much cheaper than the venders at the very start of the festival off Main and 290. Tip 3 - Some venders (not all) only take cash - so bring it! There is an ATM in the Historical Society building....unless they move it. Tip 4 - I laughed when I saw women toting around carts and wagons without kids. But I soon found that they were the smart ones! I bought so much cheap yard art that I could hardly carry it. Who's laughing now. Not me!! Lesson learned - bring something to carry your crap once you buy! You'll be happy you did! Enjoy!!!

The piece was damaged And perimeter restored it to next to original condition. Given that it was clay pottery Aubry's insistence on excellence is what restore the peace to the point that if you inspect it currently you would be quite skilled if you could find where the flaws had been that he repaired. Secondly, he seems to have inside and apparently himself collects very nice pieces, and I acquired from him a Gorman, which he then matted and framed and did an incredible job, simply incredible and enhanced the visual presentation of the peace. Lastly, he's in the process of putting back together a Fish kill from the green river, which was literally in hundreds of pieces that is a project in process right now and I'm awaiting the results in any case I would highly highly recommend this GALLERY both for batting and framing perhaps for acquisition of pieces and clearly for repair of pieces to museum quality
