This was such a fun thing to do while visiting Houston and honestly one of my favorite experiences from our trip. The theater is small and intimate, which makes every seat feel like a great seat. You're close to the action no matter where you sit, which makes the entire experience feel more personal and engaging. I loved how interactive the show was. It's family friendly (not a kiddie magic show), so entertaining for adults as well. This would honestly make a great date night show in Houston too. Everyone has a chance to participate, not just people sitting in the front row, which keeps the energy exciting throughout. The theater itself is really unique, filled with antiques that give it so much character. It doesn't feel like a typical venue--it feels like part of the experience. I even got to go on stage and solve a Rubik's cube with my eyes closed and my hands behind my back, which completely blew my mind. I was genuinely shocked. We received complimentary tickets and it said all ages so my husband and I headed to this with our three year old and zero expectations. First of all, it's in a large shopping center on the first floor next to a restaurant and the name of the place is on the larger sign for the entire area but not directly on the building over the space. However, when you see it you will know because it says "Magic Show Theater" all over the windows and outside. Parking is easy because it's for the whole shopping center which was great. When we showed up they had a list of names and crossed us off then offered us free popcorn (and a variety of seasonings) and snow cones. That was great because we forgot snacks for our kid and he needs something to chew on to sit still. There were two acts with Lanny being the second and the first was (I didn't catch his name) another professional magician. The first act was amazing because he was able to guess and do all of these crazy mind tricks while inserting humor. It was really impressive how he was able to do it and we drove home talking about how he could have pulled it off. The second act by Lanny was great too. My kid was all about all of the animals and in it and kept wondering where the animals went and how they all did what they did. Honestly, this was the surprise of the week and the place was decorated in steam punk style with knick knacks and great things to look at. They even do a program for magic in schools as a way to keep kids engaged and to promote good behavior. What a great place and honestly, a perfect place for a date night. read more

I had no expectations for this show but I've always love magic and sleight of hand things. I went with my brother (we're in our 30s) and a friend (that's in his teens). It was the owner's birthday and his fellow magician friends came to contribute to the show and add to it. They were all skilled in their crafts and every trick was seamless and amazing. The place was a smaller, more intimate stage; which added to the charm of it, as the magicians were a lot more hands on with the audience. If you are looking for something to do in Houston area, I highly recommend this place. Every trick performed tonight has been polished and nothing looked amateur from my perspective. I have seen things on youtube but it was amazing to witness live tricks that were legit. This was a true delight. I was thoroughly amused and fascinated through the entire show as was my husband. Had 3 kids with me, 6, 8, and 14, and they were completely entertained the entire time as well. The teenager is harder to impress these days and at first had wondered why I was dragging her to a magic show at all, but she was glad she came after all . As a bonus they give complimentary pop corn (with more popcorn seasoning options than I ever knew were) and snowcones (with plenty different flavors) and water to all. I had my son's 4th birthday party here and from start to finish it was impeccable! I first contacted Mr. Lanny days before my party had a major scheduling mishap! I lost all confidence in the venue.
