Full disclosure, I visited here in June 2022. I went after work with a co-worker. The ambiance and the wine was good. However one of the owners was very rude towards me. She is the one married to a Black man (context). I walked to the bathroom and her husband was sitting near the bar. He said hi, I said hi. I went to the bathroom and I walked back to the table where my co-worker was sitting. The owner, the guys wife, came over to me to ask how things were and to indicate she was the owner. She said that was her husband. She made a comment about listening to Ashanti and her husband saying she was listening to ghetto music. read more

The ambiance is so pretty, service excellent and always spotlessly clean. Make sure to make the Stappa at Stappa Vineyard next time you're traveling through CT! This vineyard is so easy to get to and is right off the Merritt Parkway. It is a great option if you are sitting in traffic and would rather have a glass of wine! Their staff was very friendly, and they have a great assortment of wines to choose from. We tried the flight and loved every single one. Their outdoor seating is great, and there's plenty of space for kids to hang out. Inside, it looks like it would be a great place to host a party or bridal shower as well. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area! read more

Stappa Vineyard is a lovely spot with plenty of outdoor space that's perfect for a picnic-style visit. The indoor area is nicely decorated and has a cozy feel. They offer just one wine tasting flight, which isn't really geared toward red wine lovers, so keep that in mind. It's a nice place to check out for the atmosphere, but it's not my favorite vineyard overall. I also felt the staff could have been a bit more friendly -- one in particular came across as pretty rigid. Overall, it's not bad, but it wouldn't be my first choice for wine tasting. read more

Hello I was a guest at your establishment on Saturday March 21, 2026. I tried some of your food which I felt was kind of costly and the wine was pricey. A bottle of wine was $40. That's not bad. But I felt it was pricey. Second I was at a party with a friend and there was no paper towel in the bathroom on the second floor. That's unacceptable for me as a woman, using the restroom. Also there was no service person upstairs for the party which I attended. It was just a man bringing water and wine to set up. The ambiance was ok. Also I didn't like the fact that there was no handicap service to get to the second floor as well. Maybe a ramp should be built or an elevator. That was not ok with me. Lastly I left early due to other pre-engagements. But overall not sure if I will return back, it's possible in the summer maybe. read more

Stappa what you're doing and head here stat. One of the cutest wine scenes in the state, I met up with some girlfriends the other day for a cute wine and charcuterie afternoon of sips & snacks. I was a big fan of the sparkling wine that we used in mimosas, it was just the right level of sweet deliciousness that I look for. The cheeses that they have paired with the wine was simply splendid, so I'm a huge fan. We went upstairs to look at the whole downstairs area below and it's an absolutely beautiful space, I def recommend it for a small get together. I also cannot wait to come back and try more of the wine options and sit and relax with some friends. read more

This was my first time going to Stappa Vineyard (and it was long overdue). It is on route 34 and I can definitely tell you to be vigilant for the driveway. It's well marked, but, with everything on 34...easy to pass lol. The parking lot is directly attached to the outside seating are so there is not a lot of walking required and plenty of umbrellas around for shade! The building itself is adorable. The decor is woodsy and almost fairy like. There is good seating inside too. The staff was lovely and helped me select a wine off the list. I went with a staff favorite, 064-Seven Seven. I am usually a red gal, but with the heat I wanted something chilled and this hit the spot. The flavor was orange and peach but nice and dry. I don't know what the hobbit hole looking structure is outside, but you're setting up a great picture opportunity regardless! I will definitely be returning in the near future! read more

This place is gorgeous and so relaxing. The atmosphere alone is a reason to go. Giant connect 4, beautiful seating areas inside and outside. A flight is only 14$ and the sparking wine there is amazing. Tastes delish. The people are so nice and you can just chill around the vineyard. Love this place word is you can host parties here. It was a beautiful fall day so we decided to go to Stappa before it got too cold to enjoy the outside seating. So glad we went. Drive up a dirt driveway and park next to the grape vines. Beautiful building housing the tasting room and the stainless steel vats making the wines. When you enter you are hit with the smell of the winemaking process. I like that smell. Inside had a bunch of tables, nicely decorated and a cute sitting area with couch and table. Nice selection of wines. We had a bottle of the Cayuga and a bottle of the sparkling white wine. The Cayuga was a bit too buttery for me. They told us it was the closest to Pinot Grigio, I found it a bit heavier and a little more buttery than a Pinot. I loved the sparkling white wine, my boyfriend thought it was too sweet, me. I thought it had just the right hint of sweetness. We then had to agree on a bottle to share and to my surprise I actually chose the Chardonnay, typically neither one of us like Chards, this one however was not typical. It was not so heavy or oaky. Not huge butter taste. Found it very easy to drink. He said he should have had it over the Cayuga to start. By the time we left inside had become full and was everyone was enjoying the wine and the company they were with Feel free to bring your own food and set up for a nice afternoon. They do sell cheese boxes but that was it for food selection there. We will definitely be back!! Do yourself a favor and stop in for a glass or bottle of wine. Cheers read more

Such a cute vineyard.Even in April the grounds looked good but I can only imagine during summer or fall!!The building is gorgeous with a beautiful chandelier and nice tall ceilings. A vineyard this pretty and with such great views wouldn't be expected to be found right on Rt. 34. What a pleasant surprise. The indoors is very clean and tastefully decorated - it looks very polished and classy. The bathrooms are very nice and clean. We each ordered a flight that we tasted at a table indoors, then ordered a frosé for outside. It was the best one I've ever had. I didn't love their wines, but that's just my personal preference, but I would definitely return for the frosé. The grounds are very pretty with plenty of seating. A flight is $12 and they sell charcuterie boards and Counterweight beer. I would recommend everyone check this place out. read more

I visited this winery during an annual CT "staycation" winery trip and I am SO glad we chose Stappa as one of our stops. The grounds of the vineyard are gorgeous and I would love to come back in the summer and enjoy some wine outside. The inside is stunning as well and we could not stop raving about the obvious attention to detail throughout the entire space. We were served by the husband of one of the owners and he was so nice to chat with and gave us a detailed background on the vineyard and it's history. I started out with a flight so I could try a few different wines and I loved them all. I ended up enjoying a glass of the 064-seven seven which is their orange wine and it was hands down one of the best wines I've ever had at a vineyard in CT. I brought a bottle of that wine home and I'm already looking forward to my next visit. read more

Stappa Vineyard is a craft winery that opened in Orange, Connecticut in July 2021. It was founded by sisters Alexa Charles, Rosamaria Ponte and Sara Mahon. Their parents, Pietro and Antonietta Landino, are both Italian immigrants who also own Cascade Fine Catering which opened in Hamden in 2004. Both of the Landino parents have a background in farming; Pietro even worked as a shepherd in Italy. In 2012, Pietro and Antonietta fell in love with and purchased 14 acres in Orange. Pietro's plan was to initially restore the land and maybe even start a little farm. The Landino daughters had a better idea: start a winery! Pietro has a long history of making wine at home: a craft that he passed onto Alexa. Pietro continues to work with grapes on the property, but it is his daughters who have taken over the business portion. My wife, son and I visited Stappa for the first time this past Thursday; they had only been open for a week. The property was just gorgeous: acres of beautiful grapevines, a state-of-the-art tasting room facility, an old barn and a historic windmill (which the family hopes to restore). I entered the tasting room and was greeted by the friendly staff. The vineyard currently offers five wines: Cayuga White, Chardonnay, Rosé, Marquette and Chambourin. I ordered a sampler flight of four for myself and a glass of Frosé for my wife. My family and I made ourselves comfy at a picnic table outside on the grounds. We brought along food to make a charcuterie board. All of the wines were excellent; they paired very well with our charcuterie. My personal favorite was the Marquette. My wife and I each purchased another round of Frosé before leaving, which was some of the best Frosé we ever had. Our son loved running around and exploring the property. We were so impressed by the offerings that we ended up buying bottles of all five wines to take home. Great wine, great atmosphere and great location! We really enjoyed our visit to Stappa and we will definitely be back! read more

Cool vineyard that recently opened up in Orange. Love the logo. There are whites, reds, and rose on offer (as well as froze!). You can order glasses, bottles, and do tastings. Lovely spot, very nice indoor space but also plenty of beautiful outdoor space for people to sit or roam (pro tip: bring a blanket). There was music inside which was pretty fun but we opted to go outside and hang out in a shady nook. My favorite so far is the chardonnay but I look forward to trying them all. They have cool bags that they fill with ice so you can keep your bottle chilled, very nice touch. Had to bump a star because the parking still needs to get sorted out. It was super busy when I went and I used the grass parallel to Rt 34 but some cars were stopping in the (busy) road. Positive spin: it's great to see so many people coming here read more

Newly opened vineyard. Beautiful scenery with great wine. I really enjoyed the froze on a hot summer day. I also enjoyed the Chardonnay and Cayuga white wine They had some live music which was a nice touch. Charcuterie box was a little pricey for what it was, but had a decent little mix. Only thing they still need to work on is getting the parking figured out and they could use more seating and tables outdoors. I do recommend going, but just in case bring chairs for the outdoors. read more

Stopped by Stappa Vineyard on Saturday and it was great. The atmosphere was awesome and the views were great! It is a little tricky to find at first on the main road, but once you find your way back into the vineyard area it is so gorgeous! The inside of the facility was beautiful and decorated so nicely. Wonderful winery - we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon and look forward to visiting again. The wine was delicious. The biggest plus is that they allow you to bring in your own picnic or snacks to have with your wine. The wineries in Long Island I used to go to discontinued this practice to force you to purchase their food and it was too expensive. This is the first winery I visited in CT and plan on visiting more. The tasing room was expansive and had plenty of room. read more
