First things first, the print shop and scan areas are always crazy busy. In order not to catch a busy day, you have to go during the workday or early to get some printing and scanning. However, there always seems to be a line at the kiosk where you can print pictures from your phone. So heads up on that. The store itself is clean and stocked pretty well. They have a decent amount of office furniture on display and can be helpful when you want to make a purchase. Now, be prepared, their delivery service is completely awful and an experience I never want to have again and thankfully, I just needed a computer chair. The location does have bathrooms in the back, which is always nice when you are doing a big back-to-school shopping for your family. It is Staples, so the price is what you would expect all around. It's not the cheapest, but it's also not incredibly expensive for your wallet. I've never had an issue with any staff helping me except whoever they use for delivery. Extremely expensive for no reason. I had to print a 5x7 double sided basic flyer in a rush, they charged over $160, initially quoted $200 because this is considered a "custom job!!" They gave me a next day pick up time, they were late I had to wait, and the cutting of the flyer and the finish was less that basic satisfactory. The job would cost $40 with Vistaprint, you get the perfectly cut edges and if they do any mistake they refund you. They had convinced me to open a business account, not worth it! I will do my best to avoid using them for any printing in the future. Purchased an android laptop. Took it home. Opened the seal and removed the laptop. Opened the lid and pushed the on button. Upon openening I was advised that the unit was locked. Could not proceed. Went back to staples and was directed to the owner/ manager, . He couldn't ger in either. He then told me that I entered a password and without it I couldn't proceed. I advised that I never did such thing. Too bad so sad reply but I had to take it up with the manufacturer. Starting to fume but kept my calm. I asked him directly if he is accusing me of lying. He replied that it was my unit now and wouldn't help me. Now I am a 77 year old well seasoned business owner. Had worked for 4 main multi national company's for over 45 years. Started 2 business that were retail based. Recently retired. I told this lout that if was an exec with staples he would be rushed out the door with no notice, severance and if he wanted to discuss with the labour board there would be a long wait before he would get a settlement. Warning .if you have to pay for the item before you can actually inspect the contents, tell them that only if they open it and satisfy that you are getting what you are paying for. If they refuse. I haven't had to go to a retailer that sells office supplies, furniture, equipment and copy/print services in a long time. Today, for the second time in a month I'm back. I didn't complete my homework on staples.ca and didn't know in advance that my item was not in stock at this location. The goal to this trip was to pick up a document scanner...yes, you're reading this correctly. This machine replaces the previous one that I gave away over 6 years ago never thinking I'll need it again. Wrong... This is a large store and it was easy to scan the horizon and head in the right direction. Matthew (staff) was very helpful. For $99.99...it's the lowest entry price point...I'm buying an Epson Perfection V39 Colour Photo and Document Scanner powered only via a USB connector; it is a 4800 dpi thin and sleek unit. Since it was not in stock at this store, Matthew showed me how to order and pay for the item from an Order Station. I chose to have the item shipped to this store and I would pick it up this Monday. Super customer service and order-checkout was a breeze. I was also emailed an electronic copy of my purchase receipt. A great shopping experience! read more

I experienced age and gender based inappropriateness at 7:45 pm today August 22/23 at the Staples store at Parkway Mall on Ellesmere in Toronto. The male employee at the checkout had spoken respectfully to the male customer ahead of me and to his younger female colleagues, but, automatically without being asked tried to mansplain how I should use the automatic pay machine and also began calling me "DEAR". He didn't call his younger female colleagues or male customers "DEAR" and he allowed the young male customer to use the payment machine without interference. Because of how I was treated as the only old woman present, I was deeply ashamed and asked for my money back, I was asked why and I said "it is ageist and sexist to automatically start calling older women you don't know "DEAR" (old dear, sweetie, hun, etc.). He began to defend himself loudly saying he "didn't mean it that way" - I said yes he did because he treated everyone else with respect, no once else was inappropriate labelled "DEAR" - and that I want my money back. At this point, a brilliant female employee stepped in,, and not only did she treat me with respect like any other customer, she also used the situation as a win-win opportunity, teaching new staff how to do refunds! I got my money back and went and bought my product somewhere else more affordably (plus choosing a place with automated check-out to avoid further hurt, shame and discrimination). They lost my business (and he was further in the wrong - I'm not retired - many of us old/er women not only work and can use equipment, but we are a growing demographic in the population and we do much of the purchasing decisions around office supplies). He wouldn't want his own grandmother treated this way, don't do it to me!! You might hear that kind of speech by a health care worker, a service worker, or even a friend or family member. While it might be unintentional, the result can be very detrimental to the recipient. A Yale University researcher on the effects of elderspeak, Becca Levy, says, the practice "sends a message that the [person] is incompetent, and begins a negative downward spiral for older adults who react with decreased self-esteem, depression and withdrawal." This type of speech is received as being condescending and even disrespectful to older adults. It can be damaging to their mental health and well-being. Ellesmere Toronto Staples - Horrible, WORST service - I did the same day printing 8:00 AM - just straight 200 copies of 1 page - nothing special!! And waited for email - nothing so I tried calling for over an HOUR and NO one picks up at print or general dept. Went and they said not ready but can come back at 9 PM or next day - good thing we didn't go that evening - never heard back so went and they said wasn't ready but to wait and they'll do it!! this location: 1/5 ordered 3 sets of labels aug 29. two sets were listed online aa finished in a timely manner (5~7 business days) but one set continued to be listed as "In Production". I started calling them at around 11 days, but NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE!? finally today, Sep 15, i get through to a human (not Print Shop but Customer Service or something), and they tell me my order was finished Sep 2!? no notification email. guy says the "back end services" have a bug. really!? after all this time? when i pick up my order, guy offers me a discount on my NEXT ORDER!? are you freakin kidding me? no discount/refund on my current order!? I told him there wouldnt be a next order. if you have printing needs, go elsewhere. this place ks incompetent. I have been coming to this location for a couple of times now placing orders at the Copy & Print section, and haven't seen anything but good stuff from the staff at this department! Just like any staples, I believe that they might be under-staffed at times, but I see this case in almost every Staples location. However, the staffs here go above and beyond to make things happen and give a good customer experience. In my both visits, I dealt with a staff member by the name of Walaa, and she has been nothing but great, helpful and super professional when it comes to doing her job. Along with her colleagues/staff members, they got my job done in a timely manner although with a short notice, and provided me with full support along the way, ending with a great result/product! The customer service was very poor. No regard for customer. Very dismissive to customer and even saying to customer go to other staple branch store they will treat you well there. Because we ask to return a new printer we bought during the pandemic following all guidelines given to us by staple during our contact with staples during pandemic We went to another staples store who did the return for us with no issue and also demonstrated good customer service. Ordered an item online with pick-up at this location because other locations were out of stock. Drove there today with "ready for pick-up" email in hand. Followed instructions: Parked in marked stall. Called posted number. After pressing "6" for product pick-up, phone bot responded, "I will try to connect you". TRY to connect you???? That should have been a clue. Next bot response was "Sorry, all associates are busy with other customers. Please try your call later." Really? You have my money and I'd like to pick up my order using the convenient service offered. After 15 minutes and multiple phone attempts later, my husband put on a mask, went through the front doors and found 3 associates gathered near the check-out having what appeared to be a casual conversation. None of them was helping a customer and none appeared to be answering phones. He suggested they could help us by responding to calls. I called again and thankfully, someone answered, telling me it was cold out so it we'd be helped as soon as someone could get a jacket. 20 minutes. We were the only customer waiting in a pick-up stop. Before driving to Staples, we stopped at Best Buy to pick up an order there... we were in an out in minutes. Seamless and efficient pick up service with online check-in on arrival and text confirmation. It is possible!! Perhaps the issue is exclusive to this location, but Staples - you can do better. read more

It's your typical Staples store, with the same layout as they do in all the others. The staff is very helpful and have no apprehension on approaching you to see if they can be of any service to you in order to help your shopping experience any easier. I went this store last week for printouts with my husband and the one person who is standing at customer service desk was so strange...as we are not able to printout one of 5 documents due to some technical issue...that person from staples come to us instead of helping us making a funny faces and weird expression on the face...I was really shocked by seeing such a weird kind of behaviour. read more

The Copy and Print Centre in this location is always understaffed while crowded with customers. And I mean ALWAYS understaffed. I've been coming to this location for more than 10 years now because I live in the area, and very rarely are there staff available to help you right away, at any given time of the day. People are all lined up to get help and the staff are always busy with previous customers' orders, most of which take up a long time, which means longer wait times. I feel really bad for any staff who works at the Copy and Print Centre at this location, as they must get complaints all the time and this isn't anything within their control. If you have some urgent documents to print, I recommend going somewhere else as wait times here is anytime between 10 minutes to 30 minutes. read more

i usually order office supply from them. very reliable, we receive our orders by the next day. if we need to return items they don't give us a hard time. i wish things would go on sale more often. I even bought a really comfy chair from here for my dad for x-mas. read more

The store has unoriented staff that have a limited knowledge about their products. Many products don't have the price labeled making it very inconvenient for the consumer. Also the washrooms are an utter mess with graffiti on the walls, trash lying on the ground and the hand soap dispenser being filled with hand sanitizer or left empty. I recommend going to a different location. read more
