I love this Staples! I came in for business cards. You order online so you don't exactly get a physical proof. They weren't really to my standard. The options and colors I chose didn't mesh well. But I was able to resubmit my order with the changes they recommended and I was able to pick up my new order in 24 hours. The cards came out great and it was only 23$ for $250 cards! I needed some balloons for a Soccer Team Party. I didn't know where to go as Party City used to be my go-to location for balloons. Since both Party City locations in Santa Clarita have closed I set out to figure out what to do. I had heard that the Michael's in our area was now filling helium balloons but after hearing that the service was less than desirable and the balloons didn't last too long, I sought another option. I know Dollar Tree and Five Below may have helium balloons but that they only had Mylar balloons and I wanted more selection. To make a long story shorter, I heard Staples on Golden Valley now had small Party City location inside the store. I walked up to the counter for Party City and was immediately greeted by Adrian, he was so helpful! I chose a soccer balloon package which includes the helium that contained 4 Mylar soccer themed balloons and wanted 4 purple balloons that matched the team color in purple. Each of the regular high quality balloons they had in a nice purple were only 99cents per balloon and $1 to fill those balloons and include a ribbon. Adrian took the time to place my order and gave me a receipt and guaranteed me they would be ready the next day at 1pm. I got a phone call the next morning from a kind employee named Tyler who was preparing the bouquet of balloons and he called to say they had run out of white ribbon and asked if I could make a different color choice, I went with purple which was perfect as it was the team color. He assured me they had plenty of purple as white was a popular choice. I showed up to Staples with my receipt at 1pm. I picked up the balloons from Cooper who was very kind and helpful. The balloon bouquet was PERFECT! Exactly what I wanted and needed, ready to go at the desired time and the employees could not have been nicer and more helpful. They have definitely earned my business and I will be back to do more business with the Party City at that location. Thank you Adrian, Tyler and Cooper for making this experience so positive. Today I visited this Staples location to make an Amazon return. When I arrived, there were about three people ahead of me in the Amazon return line. At the time, there was only one employee handling both Amazon returns and in-store purchases, even though they are separate lines. This also was a Sunday so more people are out shopping and doing Amazon returns. I ended up waiting approximately 25 minutes. During that time, several customers who entered the purchase line were helped ahead of those of us waiting for Amazon returns. The employee explained that corporate policy prioritizes in-store purchases over Amazon returns, which was surprising since Staples presumably receives compensation for offering Amazon return services. While I understand the need to prioritize sales, the experience made me feel overlooked and undervalued as a customer. Waiting 25 minutes to assist four Amazon return customers feels excessive, especially when a second employee eventually arrived and took over the register shortly after I was helped. I hope this feedback is useful, as better staffing or clearer expectations could greatly improve the experience for customers using Amazon return services. read more

this is a twofold review. The first day I went into the store to get help with a printing project I was trying to do I did not receive help at all really. I showed Ashlin the project I was working on & she said didn't now know to correct what I was doing wrong. I was trying to do a centered first message, and the next paragraph was to be standard on the 8x11 paper, every time I tried the centered information would go off and be staggered. She told me I could come back when the design team was there and it was $60.00 an hour. I'm sorry but that's ridiculous as I only needed to know how to tweak the project, I just needed help with aligning the words/paragraphs, not create a completely new project. I went home and came back a few days later hoping to see someone else. I choose the right day and met Will who was extremely patient to me, an old lady. He showed me how to download the app, he said it worked better doing that. Once I had the app downloaded, he helped me re-do and straighten out the project, it took him a matter of minutes. When I first moved to Santa Clarita in 2004 till probably 3-5 years ago this Staples was my favorite and I shopped and did all my business here for my businesses. I've always preferred buying in person over online to help keep places like this open. Obviously we are in the Amazon world now and that is more efficient and more reasonable. But some things have always made me feel better buying in person like TV's, Couches, and PC Printers! Well I needed a new Printer for my office at home, and I've been researching InkJet Printers for 2 weeks straight. Found the model I was looking for here and wanted to buy it and be done with it. Unfortunately not many staff available and the person Jay who seemed to be the cashier, the manager, and maybe even more than that wasn't having a good day. As much as I asked or kindly requested for some engagement. I understood he may have been super busy, but no one was talking to him and I was just wanting to get some more info and his Insight as a professional on which printer would suit me best for my needs. I was patient and willing to hear you out, but you seem to just want to get rid of me. He didn't care, he just wanted me out of the store and out of his way. Every chance I spoke to him for a conversation to help decide on my purchase I had the feeling he wasn't going to waste his time with me. Of course, after all I'm just a customer with multiple businesses that care about buying the right thing and getting the right info before making a well informed decision. To make this long review shorter I'll just say, I will NEVER conduct business at this Staples and unfortunately this store and maybe even the company will lose value from one customer who is me. That may not have an effect, and that's ok. I'm not wishing anything wrong. But I still believe customer service is a necessity and just as important as working. Bravo to anyone that still does these jobs and I'm 100 percent grateful for you and all those that do it. You are all better then me, because it surely is a challenge in todays world. However, please don't lose your service skills, friendly behavior and great attitude because eventually wherever you decide to go in life, it always comes back to you in good favor 10 fold and more! Sorry Jay, but your attitude that day 03-04-24 made me realize how awful some businesses like Staples and their employees can really make people feel about not ever shopping in person anymore. Do not come to this place to drop off packages. The people who work there are lazy, slow, and they'll pretty much do anything to waste your time. They suck! I had to wait nearly 10 minutes all because of one customer was trying to ship a package that he has to pay for. I swear to God, I really wanted to scream and curse at one of the employees there. The managers need some training I believe if your manager you should be able to operate the simple office machine is. I went there this morning to get 116 page report spiral-bound and they told me it would be an hour. I said if you could punch the holes and just give me the cover sheet and the spirals I'll do it myself. They still said it would take an hour. The manager then said he doesn't know how to work the machine. Simple line. The paper is a push the button the machine does everything else. Ridiculous. read more

We were told by an employee we could use some of their paper cutting tools only to have him come over and basically tell us off for using them, customer service / just basic human decency is at a zero. They don't know how to treat their clients. Angie lost 40 minutes of my time specially since I came with my kid and wanted to print some pictures for the holidays, she acted so unprofessional, rude and despicable when I mentioned her it was my first time doing printing services with a company so she had to advised me which she didn't and wanted to charge me $13.00 to cut a mistake she did of a print out paper and every time when another employee wanted to reach out to her, she didn't even said to wait but just ignore me at all cost. Back to school time is normally stressful, but with COVID everything is amplified. Our printer ran out of ink so we ran out to get some. With a new baby, it's pretty tough to get out. We came to Staples a few minutes too late, as they were closing. However, a very nice employee (I believe his name was David, he was managing this evening) let us in to buy the precious printer ink. I shop at this Staples regularly for office supplies. This is the first time I have used the copy/print dept. I needed to print planner pages for my Filofax, which is an odd size because it's a British product. I uploaded my file to their website, selected all of my options and under special instructions I added the bit about it needing to be printed on letter paper, but at A5 size so it would fit in my planner. I was planning to cut it down myself after it was printed. When I went to pick it up, it was scaled to fill the entire letter size paper. Which meant it was too big for my planner. I explained to the clerk and he said they would redo it. I looked up the specific dimensions of A5 paper so he had them. I received a call in about 4 hours and they said it was ready. When I got there not only had they gotten the size perfect, but Haley, who was working the closing shift, even cut it to size for me, though I hadn't paid for that service. Great location to shop. The employees are friendly and helpful. It is never busy so you can grab what you need and checkout.

The location is convenient, right off the 14 frwy, near other stores and restaurants. The service was so-so. I asked where to find something and the cashier directed me to 2 different isles, then he asked another employee, who directed me to a 3rd isle. I finally found the item myself, but it took me about 15 minutes going up and down all the isles. It would have been nice if one of them had of helped me...there were maybe 3 customers in the whole store. I also feel Staples is very overpriced, so I only go there if I can't find something at another store first. read more

Went there to purchase a laser pointer. They carry their own "Staples Brand", which runs on 2 AAAA batteries (not included). When I asked where they kept the AAAA batteries that their product requires, they informed me that THEY DON'T CARRY AAAA BATTERIES. So just to review, they don't carry the batteries that THEIR OWN STAPLES-BRAND PRODUCT REQUIRES. Beyond ridiculous. Going there was a massive waste of time. My fiancée purchased ink for two printers online for in-store pickup. The online site said that they were in stock. He received an email saying that they only had one in stock. No mention on when the other might be in stock but said to come in to the tech desk and pick up the one that was in stock. We went to pick it up, and it was like the employees were in slow motion. One kid I swear couldn't walk any slower. At first they couldn't find the ink. Then a manager came up and went back to get the ink...this process would have been 1/3 the time if we just went into the store and bought it the normal way. Manager could not give us an updated receipt saying that we were only charged for the one. Save your time and hassle by skipping the "order online" and just go to a store. read more

I have shopped at Staples for years, but that is coming to an end today. Yesterday, Cyber Monday, I purchased a laptop computer online from Staples for $369, reduced from $629. Today I received an email from Staples stating that the item was out of stock - it would have been nice if they had told me this yesterday so I could have shopped for a different laptop at the Cyber Monday prices. I looked at the inventory of laptops at their website, and noticed that today (Tuesday) it lists that 48 of that model laptops are available. I contacted Staples online to ask about that, and was told that those are not available for shipping - and none are in a store close to where I live. The price listed today is $459, an increase of $90. They offered to send me a $20 certificate for future use, but I don't ever plan on using it. It would have been more appropriate for them to try to find a comparable laptop at the Cyber Monday price, but no such effort or offer was made. This review is not intended to reflect poorly on the Santa Clarita store, as my experience was entirely online. read more

Exceptionally slow service. We needed to have our grand mother's funeral program printed out. The funeral was scheduled for the next morning at 9:00 AM. There was not a person ahead of us and we were told that if you want it today it will be special charge of $1.78 per page whereas there regular no rush was only $1.37 per page. We asked the manager name Joel if he had tons of job's stacked up in front of us and he did not. We understand if they had to prioritize our job charging extra would have been ok but they were going to run the job now anyway but they would not make it available until 6:00 PM the following day (approximately 9 hours after the funeral). Joel emphasized that since the rates are from the corporate and he could not change it to $1.37 as the computer won't let him do that... sounded pretty lame excuse as price adjustment is always done by managers and they over rides prices all the time. I thought Staples folks could have been more understanding. This is what is lacking in our businesses that we are very shy to extend a courtesy to gain customer's loyalty and our dealings towards our customers have become very insensitive and robot like where you hardly find the desire to demonstrate the good old fashion " going an extra step". At least we did not experience here at this Staples. Staples did not do anything wrong but in my opinion demonstrated poor taste of customer service. read more
