Bad queue management, signs. Made me wait in several lines before directing me to where I needed to go for a return.

I only come to Staples to return Amazon things. They offer a coupon for me to buy things and I use the colorful laser printed coupon for note paper. Their prices for a single notebook for 19.00 or a roll of packing tape of 9.00 just makes me ache. I breakdown and go to Walmart for that stuff. The guy at the Amazon check-ins is friendly but today the guy who fake "hello and have a nice day" 'd me while looking down at my hands to see if I was stealing made me want to thump him. I had my gloves and keys thank you very flecking much. Why the H E double hockey sticks would I walk out blatantly with things in my hand that I did not pay for. I'd think criminals have better sense than that anyway. Besides the point...profile much? I'll go back to Whole foods or UPS for my drop offs next time. read more

Ok. My fault. I get it. But do not do as I did. I bought an HP5101 printer at this Raleigh Staples since the clerk said that HP is now teamed up with Apple, and it would be the easiest one to sync with a new Mac. He said the warranties are all 1 year. I got it 2 months ago, set it up - not easy, and used just a few times. The thing will not stay connected to my computer and the copy buttons do not work. They do not even push in. When I checked on the warranty, it had expired?? I would drop it on Staples doorstep some night, but those ink containers would leak in my car without special preparation. Life is too short for this mess. read more

Staples rarely disappoints me when I need something- I've ordered prints, posters, etc. from them so I figured this time around, I wouldn't run into issues. I did though. My wedding was scheduled on a Monday in March and I needed a large poster for my welcome sign. I ordered it a little over a week before my wedding assuming Staples actually prints their own items and it wouldn't take a week to fulfill my order. When I called a few days before the wedding to check on my order status, they informed me that they actually outsource several of their print items (the welcome sign being one of them). Because they outsourced the item, they couldn't control when they actually received it. I am rating this store as a 2 because they did not disclose that that item was outsourced via third party nor did they ever notify me when it was completed & ready for pick up (I had to wait at the store and it wasn't ready by the day or time they had promised). Thankfully, I wasn't too concerned about the welcome sign at my wedding but it was disappointing to have wasted close to $40 on a decoration that I couldn't use. Please use other companies for printing items, especially ones that actually print their own products! read more

I finally decided that the pen I've been carrying for about three years needs to go. I need to get past the whole thing of "lucky pen" and move on. Ever since the TSA stole my "tactical pen," I've been carrying one that I picked up somewhere and it's time to replace it after it's traveled most of the last three years. Stopping into this Staples, I did manage to find a new favorite and it's going to be a good time. We'll see if I can hang on to this one for another three years. Other than the pen selection, which is epic, they have all the other office stuff you might need. Some good prices, some not so good prices. It's all A-OK for me. Don't waste your time! Do it yourself. Took some invitations I had done myself to be copied. She made a copy so I could see the results there. They looked okay ! So I said go head do them and I paid. The next day I picked them up and was dumbfounded with what I saw. The one time in my entire life I go for help this happens. Pictures are included. To Whom It May Concern: My experience I had today at the Staples on Wake Forest Road was positive. But it didn't start that way. Let me explain. I walked into the store with my pal Kyle and yea. I had my "big cup" of lemonade with me. No lid. Big whoop. We are harmlessly walking through the aisles and all of a sudden a white male, 26 years old, 153 pounds, starts walking towards me, with what I thought was the obvious intention to take away my big cup. As he approached me down aisle 7, I implemented evasive maneuvers out the back side of the aisle, only to find that another male employee (white, age 24.5, 162 pounds, 36in wing span) was approaching me from my left. Now a victim of an L shaped ambush, canalized into the narrow area between aisles 6 and 7, I had no choice but to stand my ground against the approaching staff. Turns out - they had just been trying to catch up with us to see if we found everything we were looking for, and actually, we did. Kyle came there for some rolls of tape and he found them. Scotch. They're nice. We made our way to the front of the store and I was able to hang on to my big cup and tested out some of the mechanical keyboards and gaming chairs on the way too, all without spilling a single drop of my lemonade. All in all a nice trip and I will be back should Kyle need tape again and I happen to be tagging along. read more

We have been to plenty of Staples stores over the years, this one by far has the best and the most exceptional customer service I have ever received it any chain store. My parents wanted to purchase a new monitor, laptop and printer for my new home office. Needless to say we planned on spending a good amount of money in this store on these items. Our exceptional customer service experience started with Sean, Sean is extremely knowledgeable in regards to monitors, keyboards, laptops and everything in between. Mike one of the managers in the store was also involved in our exceptional customer experience as well. Mike was very helpful when determining which laptop monitor and printer, and keyboard would work for my needs. Mike offered helpful suggestions without being a pushy sales person. He listened to my needs and made suggestions and recommendations based on how I was going to utilize the equipment in my home office. We spent a good amount of time in the store and left feeling very well treated. My family and I went on to talk about the exceptional customer service we had received in the car ride to dinner. It's very refreshing to have this type of customer service in a chain store. We left my new laptop to have the information from my old laptop transferred to the new one. I was told that the laptop would be ready for me to pick up the next day at approximately the same time. When I called to check on the progress of the laptop the next day. I was told it would indeed be ready at that time we were told. The great customer service continued. I can say without a doubt when it comes to any computer needs or anything that this particular Staples store offers, we will absolutely return to this Staples for any purchases. Mike and Sean are wonderful employees and represent this company with knowledge, professionalism and are both down right GREAT GUYS!! If you need anything from a Staples, remember to go to this Staples. And, if you need anything that has to do with computers ask for Sean or Mike. These two guys will take care of you, and not try to sell you something that you don't need. I just finished setting up my laptop, monitor, printer and my new wireless keyboard. This spot is your classic Staples. Awesome if you need to run in and grab something or enjoy perusing some good old office supplies. I usually head in if I'm not quite sure what label pack I want to go with or have run out of packing tape. Every time I've been in the employees have always been friendly and helpful. I don't love their online print center so I don't always go to them for that, it's just not the most user friendly in my opinion. Parking is super easy over here as it's a bit away from the Trader Joe's crowds. read more

Yesterday I had the most horrible experience ever with Staples. I placed an online order for 1 hour pickup for an item we needed early the next day. I accidently did not specify an alternate pickup person (our courier) before I hit the submit button. I called the store asked the clerk that answered if I could add the courier as alternate pickup person, he did not have an answer, and transferred me to his manager, I was told that I needed to call the 1-800 customer service number to make this change/addition. I called as instructed spoke with the first person and after giving tons of information I was told I needed to transferred to the Premium Member department, after about 10 mins on hold someone finally picked and after repeating all the information that I had give to the first person and being on hold for another 5 mins I was told that they could not make that change to call the store. I hung up called the store back, got the same clerk, who had no answer, transferred me to the second person who greeted me with "Oh its you again" I attempted to explain that I had done exactly as I was instructed the first time and was told that I needed to call the store, he told me he did not have an answer and would have to call me back as soon as possible, when I pressed him on this he said they were short handed and I pressed him on this he put me hold for about 5 mins, hoping I would just go away, then returned and said pretended to take the name of the courier and said that he would release the items to him, so thinking the issue was resolved I hung up. While all of this is going on I received an email confirmation that my order was being processed, and on line in our account it said the items were ready for pickup. Not 5 mins after I hung up with the manager I got an email that my items were no longer available for store pickup. I do not have proof that the manager, and I used that term loosely canceled my order out of spike. I will drive to Canada, Mexico, fly to Europe before I ever place another order with this store. I tried to mail a package full of expensive electronics and it was lost due to the employee not putting a label on it but still shipping it out. After many unhelpful conversations with the staff I just gave up because it was very clear that they were not going to fix anything. Fast forward a few weeks later the package was finally found and automatically shipped to a wrong address in a completely different state without my approval (I don't know where they got that information considering there was no shipping label on the box). I blame staples and UPS for their unprofessionalism ** update the package finally arrived and we found out it was opened, all the bubble wrap was removed from the (expensive) individual electronics, the packing peanuts were dumped out, and the box is crushed. Many things are now broken from the recklessness and carelessness of the workers. read more

To Whom It May Concern: My experience at the Staples on Wake Forest Rd. was quite perplexing. On 10/23/2018, I placed an order and was services by a male with dark Brown Hair looking of Hispanic Descent and received some of the best customer service at around 8:30PM that I've ever received before. I was very complimentary of him despite feeling like $60 dollars was a bit pricey for what I purchased, I left out with a smile on that day and was fine with it because I felt like it was convenient and I got great service. However, when I went to pick up my order on 10/24/2018 at around 8:30PM and was services by an African American Female in a Blue Shirt working in the Print Shop, I received some of the worst service ever and I was quite insulted. (I'm also African American, so I'm not being racist just trying to describe her without knowing her name). I went to pick up my order by the "promised time" that they SAID it would have been ready. However, it was not ready because they had printed it on the wrong paper (matte paper instead of photo paper) and this is a very large photo that I would be framing and hanging in my living room so that didn't work. So I waited around for the lady to fix it. Once she was done, I asked her what was she going to do with the pictures she printed on matte paper, which were a mistake and I asked her for them and she said no that, that would be giving me something for free and then she offered to charge me for them. I told her no that's OK I've already paid $60 bucks for these photos that were not ready on time and then she told me they would throw away the photos that were printed as a mistake in the trash. On top of that, when I got home one of my photos that she printed was the wrong size and therefore could NOT fit in the frame. On my way out the door, someone asked me about my visit and I said I was not coming back. However, I have to go to that wretched place again for a 3rd day in the row just to get this problem FIXED. 1. So no they do not meet their promised times. 2. They would rather throw MY OWN picture in the trash than to give you something that they've already printed that they made a mistake on and 3. They do not get orders right the first time. She made me feel like I was trying to freeload. I do not appreciate it and if it wasn't for them messing up my order. I would have NEVER went back to this store again. read more

My first checkin and definitely my LAST. I walked through front doors to pick up my online 1 hr pick order. There was a manager facing me right at the door and didn't even greet or say welcome. I watched this same manager disregard another customer who asked him for assistance. The line was extremely long. I asked another employee who was just standing around where is the online pick up. He just told me against the wall. I said which one. The sign is very tiny and you can barely see it. Clearly the customer service in this store is at a zero. Brier Creek is the better location, everyone is always so helpful, energetic and helpful. I will never come back or spend a dime at this location. This one is like most Staples--big, clean, bright, and very-well organized. I had a ball in the clearance section in the back of the store yesterday. They had a lot of notebooks, organizational supplies, and even some Sharpies! The problem was that the prices for everything I was interested in weren't marked. They didn't have price-checking stations, so I had to wait in line at the front. When I got there, several of my items rang at $9,999! Of course, that was a mistake, but a manager had to be called, and he had to "guess-timate" the prices, because there was no record of what they should be. The associate who helped me was friendly and efficient, but that was way too much work for a couple of notebooks and file folders. read more

By far the best Staples I have ever been to! I recently needed business cards printed. I put a front end back Jpeg image file on a USB stick and first headed to Office Depot. They wanted to charge $20 to put it on their website to create the "10 up" format for the printer. I left and headed to this Staples location. I was greeted by the friendly staff who quickly got my order sorted for the cards. I placed the order at 6:15pm and at 7:35pm same day, the cards were ready for pickup. I was desperate for an adapter to write a contract due in 3 hours. I had been to Best Buy twice and finally tried Staples. I wish I knew the employee's name who helped me (British, Australian or New Zealand accent) but he SAVED the day by explaining that the thunderbolt port on a Mac is the same as a USB-C!!!! So today I had to print out some papers for my work, and I went to use the computer to do so. I was a bit hesitant to use it because of the virus that's currently going around. Anyways when I finished I asked the front cashier lady if I could use some hand sanitizer, she replied "This is our last bottle and it's is for our personal use only. We do have a bathroom that you can use." Never in my life has it ever been a big deal to use some hand sanitizer! On top of that it wasn't their last bottle... I had seen more around them. I don't know if it's because of this virus, or if it's because companies are really strict about their employees letting the customers use hand sanitizer! read more

By far the best customer service I have experienced in a long time, maybe ever! Selena and Mike went well out of their way to do a complicated print job quickly and perfectly! I went to Kinkos down the street (Springfield Commons) and was given an outrageous quote (the service rep, when I asked him how he was doing actually responded 'busy' as if my business was an inconvenience to him AND he was killing ants on the counter with his thumb while 'taking care' of me). I left quickly! Staples took the job cheerfully and immediately; and for 60 percent less than Kinkos! Selena and Mike understood how important the job was to me and they approached it with the same importance. Their attention to detail was not only refreshing but reassuring. So take it from a guy who hardly ever leaves reviews: I can't imagine I will ever even waste my time shopping around. Very racist and rude staff. Be aware they talk on the walkie about you in your face. The print center steals your money. Management is young and ignorant. When you call corporate there staff doesn't send your requests to through the proper channels. Then corporate tells you we cannot disclose what was done to the parties in question. This will be another (Starbucks scandal) when I'm done. The complaint representative left a voicemail on my phone stating she forgot to press send on the email. I'm disgusted with this location. Unbelievably bad experience. I went into staples to pick up a chair that had been placed on hold over the phone. All I had to do was pay for it...should be easy, right? Got to the register. The sales associate asked me about purchasing the extended warranty. I replied "No thank you" She then asked me again and further explained the warranty I could purchase. Again, my answer was No, but more firmer. Again and yes, again she tried to continue a one sided conversation about what the $14.99 would provide. I eventually told her it was incredibly rude when a customer told her "no" to keep continuing. After I made my firmer speech, my mouth fell open as she then stated...."I'd like to tell you about the extended warranty." I walked out and left without purchasing. Would never go back. The repeated ignoring of my first, second, and third "no" was disrespectful and ultimately harassing. This sales associate was quite vocal that she had to keep asking because she would get in trouble with the manager. So, to the manager out there. I have now traded emails with a secretary and a customer service rep and they refuse to take ownership and to fix their mistake. I have repeatedly asked to hear from an actual executive, VP of customer service or even a District manager and they have done nothing but offer me a 20 dollar gift card for the 200 plus owed. As a business customer with staples for man years who spent thousands at staples over the last 3 years I am appalled at the lack of care they have for their customers. I urge anyone with an issue for this brand to writ a review showing how terrible they treat customers. I will now start calling customer service daily. I am saving the dozen emails and will post all of thes on line at the end. Hopefully here will be a happy one, but at this, I know how they treat great customers so therefore believe that I will have to continue this campaign.
